Last time I came to a bar that allowed smoking was in 2006, when I was a smoker. I used to be upset about it, but as time progressed and I finally kicked my habit, I like the law a lot now. Came to Devon’s due to being in the area and was hanging with some friends who smoke. They wanted to check out the bar, as it was a cold evening and the idea of smoking inside appealed to them. The bar was fine, though the staff was obviously paying attention to the regulars. That’s not a big deal, that’s how bars work, but it was still a bit difficult to get a drink. Drinks were fine, not a problem. I just… I don’t know. I don’t like smelling like an ashtray. I don’t like having burning eyes and clothing that still smells even after a soak and a wash in the laundry. This place portrays itself as a cigar bar, but it obviously is a secondary thought, more so to allow old-school feel of a bar where you can smoke cigarettes. Of the 20 or so people smoking inside, not a single person was smoking a cigar. The«cigar bar» is simply a gray area, a legal loophole. I get why they do this. I understand people still smoke cigarettes and want to smoke inside a bar. I get it. But it’s not for me. Won’t be back.

Didn’t actually even get inside the building because there were two people were smoking right inside the entrance. Not some place we would normally go but we were interested in the comedy show going on that night. There was a big sign hanging on the outside that said there was smoking inside, guess we just didn’t queue up on the ‘cigar bar’ part. Can’t justify a bad rating because I’m a non-smoker, but I was disappointed we didn’t get to see the show.

I am currently sitting here. We come here at least once a week. Phenomenal place to sit and enjoy a cheap drink and a smoke. Staff here is incredible, by far one of my favorite places in Denver. Feels like a second home. You may try and take our smoking privileges, but we have a safe place at Devons.

Upgraded the cigar lounge with BIG comfy couches, and the humidor selection has a much better selection of smokes. Back patio is great for hanging out in the Spring and Summer, with a gas grill that you can use to grill up some eats.

Divey. Comfortable. Staff was super nice. It’s small, and super casual. We didn’t eat there, just grabed some drinks and hung out. If you like cigars, you can partake in doors while enjoying your beer. If you are not a smoker, you may not like it — but that should be obvious from the Cigar Bar part.

If you don’t like smoke, don’t go! It’s a dive bar with ‘regulars’, pool tables, cheap and strong drinks. A cool ass DJ on Mondays(as of now). The wait staff is usually totally on your drinks and good about getting them to you so you don’t have to go very long without a cocktail. We frequent smoking places and love Del’s but for $ 30 you get two cocktails there vs six or eight at Devon’s. If you’re looking for fancy, go to Del’s or Shanahan’s. If you’re looking for divey, go to Devon’s! Also, they so not serve food at all.

One of the LAST great places to enjoy a cigar indoors or out. It’s more of a neighborhood bar, than a cigar lounge so you’re not going to be sitting amongst a bunch of stogy old farts discussing world affairs. It’s open late and has full bar BUT you may want to bring your own sticks because the humidor is limited in selection

Like this place. Seems relaxed, good place to go on a regular basis. No troublemakers, etc. Only went once, but liked it.

This bar is a great neighborhood hangout. Its one of the few smoking lounges left in Denver. Check it out, and check in while you’re there.

This was a solid 3 star place that turned into 4 stars because of my own idiocy. I forgot my lighter and cutter set that my wife got me as a gift and didn’t realize it until a couple days later. I called and the bartender remembered me immediately and said he had it set aside for me. I’ll go back to them for that if nothing else! That said, we went at 1pm on a Tuesday and the place was actually pretty well packed. Most of the patrons seemed to be smoking cigarettes, so I’ll agree with other reviewers that it’s less of a cigar bar and more just a smoking bar. But you can smoke there, so why judge? Happy hour apparently begins at 1pm on a weekday, so we got pretty cheap vodka tonics(hey, it was afternoon) and chilled out for an hour or so. Their cigar selection is pretty limited, but they had a flavored cigar that my wife liked and had a pretty good cigar for me. Service was excellent and quick, so no real complaints.

Here is the thing about Devon’s — it is not a fancy schmancy cigar bar. It is a bar, just a smokey bar. Locals, smoke, pool table, TVs and cheap drinks. Sometimes that is exactly what you need! They had a nice spot with big leather couches and a great happy hour that starts early during the week. Is it smokey? Yeah, but it has the word cigar in the title so you know people will smoke there! And I guess I don’t see the difference if it is cigar smoke or cigarettes! It is all bad for you, but I didn’t come to be on a healthy trip! The bartender was nice, the place was relaxed and it is close to home. Oh and it is RIGHT next to Duffey Roll — um, yum — we will be back :)

I was in from out of town and wanted to smoke a cigar and have a few beers — Devon’s came up in a search and I gave it a try. Even though I was in a suit and tie(coming from a funeral) I felt right at home among the pool players and afternoon drinkers. Normally I travel with a number of my own smokes, but this time I had to utilize the humidor at Devon’s and purchased a very decent Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 which was well conditioned and fresh. Kendra, my waitress, took very good care of me and never let my Guinness get empty before offering me another while I watched hockey in the lounge area. Devon’s is an oasis for a cigar dude in a foreign land. I doubt hipsters are going to «discover» it and ruin the vibe, but if you’re looking for a place to get your drink on and have a smoke — Devon’s will fill the bill.

This bar is no longer a smoking lounge. Devon’s sells a wide variety of cigars that may be enjoyed on their heated patio. There are a loyal bunch of thirty-something regulars who reside in the DTC area who have been patronizing the place for many years. The staff are friendly, know your name and drink of preference. This is a neighborhood bar that welcomes any newcomer with open arms.

They have a Guys night. — which is like ladies night but for guys. Wednesday night– cheap drinks. 2 dollar wells– and no need for a double here. I like the patio, the waitresses, and the people. Very Friendly place. I don’t smoke but still like it here. They pore a strong mix drink, and a big fan of Jaquiline and Dana. They might forget to bring your tab, but make up for it with always remembering what your drink is, and bring it to you without even asking. Love that. Once it gets cold, I probably won’t be in there much due to the smoke factor. Better fans would make this place much more friendly to the non smoker…

This is not a cigar bar. It’s just a bar that allows smoking. For that alone I can’t fault it, but for saying you are a cigar bar when you’re really catering more to cigarette smokers is a bit misleading. Unlike a real cigar bar, I didn’t really feel relaxed. How can I get in the mood when I’m sitting at a table that belongs in a Village Inn. In a crunch I would go here I suppose, but that would mean all the other places I would go to are closed and it’s snowing or raining outside and I just must have a smoke. Actually if that were happening I would just smoke in my living room. A cigar bar doesn’t have to be uptight and pretentious but it should atleast take itself a little serious.

DuffeyRoll Café attracted my attention first, but right next door is Devon’s Pub. One of the few places that you can still partake in a cigarette and be protected from the elements. Get this … they have ASHTRAYS on the tables. Weird. Pool table was happenin’ and the place was surprisingly crowded for a small local hangout, and I was the only girl! It is one of those places where you can«belly-up» to the bar for a cold one while simultaneously learning about all of the closest construction sites. Gotta love it! Reminicient of my old bartending days at Fagan’s by DU. Didn’t try the food or the cigars, but the Guinness was mighty tasty!

Maybe I was harsh about Devon’s. I just moved back to Colorado from another city so I had high expectations about how much Denver has grown. From my experience this establishment is not an authentic cigar bar. Just because a bar allows smoking indoors doesn’t make it a «cigar bar». Cigar bars have leather chairs, dark wood, stray monocles and top hats. If you want to be like the guys on Cheers, enjoy. I personally didn’t like the place and I am a dive bar aficionado — albeit punk bars of SF and not cheers like«cigar» bars in Denver. Granted, I do avoid bars in strip malls, it’s a general rule of thumb for me. I will take back my smoking comment. In SF&NYC there is no smoking indoors, so I wasn’t used to it.

It’s one of the few smoker friendly places left in Colorado. If you don’t like tobacco or second hand smoke, this place is not for you. Otherwise, Devon’s Pub & Cigar Bar is a low key neighborhood place with a dedicated clientele. I visit to smoke my cigar, sip a single malt, and watch sports events. I find the place friendly with a diverse customer base.
