EcoClean

EcoClean has been taking care of our home for over three years. Eliza runs a wonderful company with smart, trustworthy and talented cleaners (we Alex!). Whenever I have had issues with the cleaning in the past (always minor) Eliza has always ensured that it was promptly addressed and didn’t reoccur. EcoClean has been there for us and helped us out on Holidays, for Vacation schedules, pre and post moving, and when our youngest son was born. EcoClean makes our life a lot less stressful and gives our busy family more time to have fun.

I recently tried out Eco clean. The online form and email communication are very convenient and that is mainly why I’m giving them 3 stars. The actual cleaning was average at best. They didn’t clean our main bathroom sink (There was still toothpaste dried in the basin) Our floors weren’t cleaned well and the rug in our living room wasn’t vacuumed. All this would have been excusable and I would have given them another chance. The real deal breaker was that I was told Ecoclean does not except cash, I would have to pay by credit card. Then when I received my invoice they charged me a 3% processing fee. Seriously!?! You won’t take my cash but you’ll charge me to use my credit card??? Sorry Ecoclean but you lost my business forever.

It is like Christmas morning every time the Eco Clean crew comes by to clean our home. I literally get so excited when I see it on my calendar. Not only do they do an amazing job, but they are such sweet girls, they always come when they say they will, they are very consistent in who comes and cleans, the prices are so reasonable. They come to our house every three weeks and work diligently for several hours (which I know because i work from home frequently so am here when they come) it is typically two gals and they are extremely accommodating and thorough. i also like that they use «green» products for the most part. I am a realtor and I refer all my clients to them.

Hard to believe this service has an almost perfect rating.
Our experience was much less so.
Some tenants of ours claimed to have used them repeatedly over the past several months and said how much they liked them. The tenants were moving out so I went by for an initial pre walk-​through and thought, hmm this place does not appear to have been regularly cleaned by anyone let alone a cleaning service every other week. The unit had an overall not-​very-​clean kind of grungy feeling.
The tenants insisted this cleaning team would be doing an extra special deep clean on move out. On that day they started at 11am and did not finish until almost 8.
For that amount of time I was thinking the unit will definitely be in move-​in condition.
Not even close. I felt bad for these women so even though it was after 8 pm, dark and hard to see details, I said it looked fine but the truth is that it was not up to par and we had to have other cleaners come in a few days later to finish the job.
Every area was left un-​cleaned by Eco-​Clean. The floor in the kitchen still had visible scuff marks all over, the kitchen sink had metal marks and stains in several places and when I asked why, they said it was the «best they could do with their natural products on an older sink». I was in disbelief so I brought over some
Bön Ami powder (purchased from Vitamin Cottage) a soft scrubber sponge and in 5 minutes I had a pristine clean sink. Windowsills were dusty and dirty, some appeared to have been wiped haphazardly by a dirty rag, the list is long of what was not done for even a basic cleaning.
For a «green» cleaning company it was odd that one of the team members had brought in her own container of «Comet with Bleach» which I did object to them using on the older tub, so I ended up cleaning it myself. I figured she must have known the «natural» cleaners they are told to use were not performing and was trying to sneak in the bleach cleaner.
Oh the best part was the «cleaning» of the antique brass doorknobs/​pull plates. They told us «we use Barkeepers Friend because it does the best job». Ok but when finished, the knobs were nothing short of sticky, dirty and stained looking. (Yes I have photos). I went and got some Brasso brass polish and they were all gleaming in minutes. (Brass polish is not a natural product by any means but we had to do something to clean them, they looked much worse after the Barkeepers Friend than they did before the cleaning)
The realtor came by and said «when your cleaners arrive, ask them to be sure and do the light fixtures». She assumed the unit hadn’t been cleaned at all, that’s how overall un-​impressive it was left by Eco Clean.
Enough said.

I recently used EcoClean for a one-​time move-​in cleaning. Setting up the appointment was a little difficult, they didn’t respond to emails very quickly. I had filled out their online form very specifically with what I was looking for, and then once they replied they asked everything all over again like they never looked at what I had written. Once we finally had the time scheduled, Alex who came out to do the cleaning was very nice and did a great job. I just got an invoice in my email (over a week later) and they charged a 3% «credit card fee» that I was not made aware of beforehand. Just good things to know if you’re considering EcoClean.

Book them to do a move out clean. On the last day of tenancy. They asked for double after Arriving knowing we are in a situation where we had to pay. They sent me photographs that showed sweeping was needed. I asked for more justification for double, they pulled out of job after we already had a contract for the cleaning and I never refused to pay for anything I just wanted justification of doubling the price. This is the first time I’ve had a cleaning service ask for double on the last day of tenancy. I don’t think it’s a coincidence If the company knows you’re stuck I assume most people probably will pay. Moral of the story is never book a cleaning the day you’re moving out

I asked for «deep clean» — meaning baseboards, air vent ducts, etc. Eliza’s crew did a great job; it was so exciting to return at the end of the day to such a beautiful home! We are 2 very busy graduate students who barely have a minute to clean, and not only was the place spic and span, but it was done so at a price we could afford. It’s a special boost to know that only eco-​friendly products were used — we feel good about supporting companies that make products that are good for the environment. Thanks, EcoClean!

These girls are amazing! My whole family uses this company and they always do a fantastic job… My house was the cleanest it’s ever been. I was a little concerned about leaving my pets home but they were great with my pups! I would totally recommend this company!

I am new to their service but so far, I am overjoyed!
Setting everything up was easy. The entire staff is so helpful.
I had some special requests that were granted without hesitation.
Paying is convenient and their prices are reasonable.
As far as the actual cleaning goes, it didn’t stink of cleaning product! That is my favorite part. Everything was beautiful but I didn’t have an overwhelming smell of product when I walked in the door. They are very thorough and cleaning day is my favorite day.

I have been using EcoClean for close to a year now. They do a very good job and I love that the products are safe for my baby. Also, the price is right. It’s soooooo worth the cost. I have recommended them to a few of my friends for a «move out» cleaning, and they were very satisfied as well. I highly recommend EcoClean!

Been using Ecoclean for about 6 months. They are very communicative and get the house extremely clean.

So far So good. Prompt reply to my request for a quote! Looking forward to writing a review after Friday. They did a move in clean on our new to us house and a move out clean on the old place. The owner, Eliza, is great about getting back to you, asks for feedback. The cleaners are very friendly and did an excellent job. The house had a nice clean smell without smelling like something that could skin a cat. I definitely recommend them. The owner also emails receipts within an hour or two of completion.
