Being from upstate New York sometimes the urge arises to drink myself a nice big fat forty ounce in the hood. The abundance of nearby dumpsters are a great Denver location to swill on that sweet ghetto nectar. Date night rendezvous, ladies?

Wow, what a difference new ownership can make.
This place used to be a complete dump, catering to the local drunks.
While the new owners understandably haven’t turned their backs on the cash cows that are the neighborhood lushes, they have also invested heavily on bringing in the new neighbors, with a decent selection of upscale and microbrews, and better liquors. And he’s got some pretty compelling specials every week on a couple of good brands of liquor.
You still have to deal with the local riff-​raff, so it can be sketchy in the evenings. But the owner acknowledges this and will even chase the panhandlers away from the front door if you let him know they’re there.
So, I highly recommend this place. If the new neighbors reward him for his investment and commitment to moving more upscale and less sketchy, his store will only get better from here.
