Best quiz ever… they know the business well and how could you not love a night of challenging trivia in a bar. Best QM Jason M and John L and Dicker is good as well. Best part you can suggest rounds, so if you don’t like the questions, you can write your own…

Things that make a quiz: A friendly, competent, smarter-than-I quizmaster. Great music. Good food. Faultless service. Good-natured competition Quality sound. Let’s keep things positive here and talk about which quizzes currently provide a pleasing mix of the above ingredients. My new crush is the D-Note… it hits all the notes. *Boo stupid pun* Jonesy’s is less crowded now and also gets the highest marks. I’ve played a lot of quizzes in a lot of venues … some might even say I geeked myself into a corner or that my team killed a bunch of quizzes. Well, true, but GWD continues to compel me to seek out a new quiz home(such as I had at JZA’s Illegal Pete’s). I’m thinking maybe the D-Note might be it.

sometimes… I feel stupid… sometimes I feel like a genius… EVERYTIME I have fun! Nothing better than a beer and some trivia… my Tuesdays got a lot more interesting! :)

game night for adults! dance-offs, drunkin taunting, the weird yet satisfying triumph of knowing the theme song to bosom buddies or that iran actually has the most sex change operations per year. it’s always random. sometimes you feel really smart, dumb, or smart, but embarrassed that you actually knew the answer.

So my stellar 5STAR review is for the Geeks who Drink in San Antonio’s Lion and Rose… My derby girls and I were celebrity quiz masters a few months back. I’m not sure how celebrity we are, but you can imagine 5 or so drunk ass derby girls judging a dance off to «she’s got legs»… the geek who took off his shirt and dry humped the chair got my vote. We didnt even have to «torso check» our competition and we still came in 3rd. Good times!

I’m a little socially awkward when out and about so I love Geeks Who Drink because they give me something to focus on and, when I’m lucky, triumph at! There is trivia going on somewhere every night here in Denver. How much fun you have does depend on where you go and who you go with. The QuizMaster is key. Once you find your favorite QuizMaster though — Game On. There are 8 rounds. There are 8 questions per round. There is 1 visual round and often 2 audio rounds. You can get hints about the topics if you sign up for their emails. You can have up to 6 members on your team. No matter how dim you think you are, you are bound to know at least one of the answers. One of the rounds can be Jokered which means you can double your points that round — do that on one of the rounds that are automatically worth the most points to gain the greatest advantage. Edutainment at its finest — beer + friends + trivia = good times

Interesting social experiment, I guess. I hit GWD at the Irish Snug, and not only is it too crowded, it’s far from geeky: most of the trivia concerns current events — the latest developments in the lives of hollywood starlets, pop music trivia, tidbits from last week’s news. Disappointing, and frankly, the name is misleading. Drinks were good, but that has everything to do with the Snug, which i frequent anyway, and nothing to do with GWD; if I hadn’t been drinking, I’d have been bored out of my mind. In short, big yawn, but you have to love the Snug’s basement.

The best thing about Geeks Who Drink is that«Geeks» is used loosely. It caters to all sorts of people. This means some nights I won’t know crap(sports, computers, AC/DC) and other nights I’m out of my seat with excitement(any Pee Wee round, history, Star Trek). It really helps to have a music collector, gay, and male child of the 80’s on your team. The one complain I have is they’ve had way too many music themed rounds recently, and all the cartoon questions seem written by boys. They ask a lot of obscure questions about cartoons like M.A.S.K. and G.I. Joe but ignore the glory that was«Lady Lovely Locks»? Anyway, it is always a great time and they have really built up a good team of quizmasters.

Ok, I’ll bite. I really like trivia, even though I’m TERRIBLE at it. That doesn’t keep me from placing middle-of-the-pack every Tuesday night at the Snug. And yeah, I do F*@# with the quiz master sometimes. Whatevs. I think he likes it.

My favorite thing about Denver! Okay, well my second favorite thing after Denver Unilocalers, that is. Prior to oving to Denver, I spent a good amount of time on the Talk section. It’s there that I first read about Geeks Who Drink and it sounded like something I would be very interested in. After taking a look at their website, I knew I had to get involved in this as soon as I moved to Denver. I am a self-proclaimed Geek and damn proud of it too! From comic books to video games. Cartoons to Sci-Fi movies. I photography and play with gummy bears, how geeky is that? ( ) Still a bit on the shy side, Geeks Who Drink has really allowed me to open up and have fun with my fellow Unilocalers. I simply can’t wait for the next night of trivia. Where are we going? Who’s going to be there? Will it be Team Girl Squad or Satan Gave Me A Taco? You never know. That’s part of the fun of it all. Even on the nights where we’ve got our butts handed to us, I’ve still had a great time. I mean how can a night of Guinness and friends not be fun? So I suggest if any of you have been at all just a tad bit interested. By all means, check the Event pages for the current weeks game and head on out. You’re sure to have a great time. I know I have. Without GWD and Unilocal,I would(and Sheri) have zero social life in this city.

O.K. Here’s a secret about me, I’m not a geek(or even all that smart) and I don’t drink, at all, ever. And I love geeks who drink. How’s that possible?! I have a secret weapon, my guy Andy is both geeky and drinky. Yup, he’s a certified geek, a totally smart engineer who builds robots for a living, and knows a lot of mind-numbing garbeldy –gook. Oh, and here’s another fun fact, he’s a beer snob. How can I use this to my advantage? Go to geeks who drink with our fun friends! I’ve made such good friends at these events, and we laugh(mostly at one another,) and I get to be my own sweet«social butterfly» as I am known to my geeky drinker. What a great concept! Totally nice and funny people that run the show at each event,(which are all over Denver.) We try a new joint every week, they’re all fun, new, and different.

FAN Freaking-tastic! This trivia club is so much fun. I have played three times and I have had a blast. its a great way to meet new people and be baffled by the variety of odd knowledge we all pertain. Its a great mix of all types of people and skill levels. Geeks who drink definitely composes a great variety of questions, I especially like the recordings and visual rounds. Plus taking a test while your drinking is fun and makes you feel less guilty about just getting drunk. My only wish was that it wasnt so hard to hear the announcer and the rules on bonus questions seem a little unfair but that might be the competitive side of me coming out.

I have a firm belief that few things I do are enhanced by my drinking. One is playing pool and the other is trivia. This is why I love Geeks Who Drink. The trivia is played at bars all around town and consists of 8 rounds. Sometimes these rounds are excruciatingly hard for me(like name the song from these clips of Monty Python movies) sometimes they are easier. They are always fun. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place win prizes — gift certificates to the place that the pub quiz is held at. The questions are read and repeated if necessary, but those of you that only fair well when you can read a question may not enjoy yourself. Beer and trivia together at last — just the way they were intended to be.

We love us some geeky drinking! This is by far the best(most organized, best format, great prizes, etc) trivia game in town. We play weekly if not multiple times during the week. The questions are all over the board which keeps us thinking– we love the game, most of the bars and by far, our Quizmasters! Get your GEEK on folks!

Sounds like sour grapes from a dummy, Pete. Last nights quiz included questions on Thomas Payne, the My Lai massacre, and world wealth distribution. In order for a pub quiz to be successful, it MUST have many pop-culture questions because a quiz which appealed to people that build Star Trek dioramas in their basement like Peter would drive away the regular college educated folks like my friends and myself. I have been to Geeks who drink events across the city, and they are varied and fun and each of their NUMEROUS locations. ANYONE can play, and the best part aside from it being free is that you don’t have to be a geek to be successful. People of varied interests will find questions that challenge them. Geeks who drink is the most fun you can have while drinking with your clothes on.

Really, Peter? I went for the first time the other night and it was pretty hard. Sure there was some pop culture stuff, but there were more questions about geography, literature and classical music. Since when is classical music pop culture? I thought a lot of the questions were funny, and it’s a big step up from the tired trivia I’ve played at other bars.

Dumbest trivia ever. There was nothing but round after round of pop culture questions. If you don’t read the magazines in the checkout stand of your local supermarket, don’t expect to do well. Honestly, who gives a shit who Sisqo sang with before that crappy thong song? FYI, true geeks would be offended. Mind mud. Brain crap. I am embarrassed that pop culture passes for trivia in Colorado.

The geeks behind the Geeks are great guys too. I met one of the original geeks before the quiz began when i was just visiting Denver. Then I moved here and started going to the quiz at Nallen’s and there was my friend, with the microphone hosting the fun… thanks to that geek, I’ve met lots of other people who are also geeks and even quizmasters. And the way they’ve grown is fantastic. Go geeks.

Wow! Five stars to Geeks Who Drink for combining two of my favorite things: useless knowledge and alcohol! Of course, sometimes the alcohol leads to the invention of useless knowledge that may or may not be factual. Seriously, this group is fantastic. They host trivia quizzes each night at different bars in the Denver area. This is so much better than punching in answers on a keypad to questions on a video screen. They actually ask the questions themselves, injecting personality and humor into the quiz. They also have awesome themed rounds! I highly recommend this for you intellectuals out there who like a bit of entertainment from time to time to go along with their drinking.

Geeks Who Drink are totally some of the nicest people I have ever met. They play bar trivia all over the city almost every night. When I met them they all had made food and passed it out to everyone at the bar. This is an awesome thing to do if you want to get out and meet new people. Because you have to think while you drink it makes going out to the bar a lot more fun. BE A DRUNKGEEKWITHOTHERPEOPLEINSTEADOFALONEATHOME!
