Wow! What a fun place! Great food, great service, great music and a great selection of beer and whiskey at great prices. You’ve got to try the pork wings and $ 2 Sailor Jerry. I came to rock out for the weekly(every Tuesday) Open Mic Band Jam and loved every minute of it. I met a bunch of incredible local musicians that all shared their experiences playing on the Goosetown stage and the unbelievable bands that perform there. I’ll be back! Keep rocking Goosetown Tavern!

How can you be out of champagne for mimosas, the coffee maker is down, no clean copper cups for Moscow Mule, and no bloody mary mix all on the same visit? This place needs better wait staff and a competent manager.

The worst service I have ever experienced. The staff here should not work in service at all. Everything else is simply mediocre.

Service was a bit slow. Went on a Saturday afternoon and not a big crowd. Didn’t see why there was the delay. Pulled pork sandwich was uneventful. It was OK but not on my list to go back.

Meh. Meh to the food Meh to the service Meh to the music selection Meh to the prices I end up going here more than I would like and am constantly under impressed. The things they have going for it is they have a cool patio and aren’t crowded

Those bastards at Goosetown tavern charged me an extra dollar towards their tip. I tipped them 20% already. I wonder how many people they do that to everyday? If they did that to every single person that came into the door, everyday, 7 days a week. That’s so much money. They must know no one will call to complains about a dollar. That’s what Unilocal is for though. Assholes bartenders. If I ever return, I’ll use cash. I work hard for my money too, guys. I also work in the service industry and don’t add sneaky charges on my patrons’ bill… because it’s called being a decent human being!!!

might be the worst bartending staff of any place that I have been to in Denver. Lay off the xanax…

If you live in the neighborhood you’re definitely going to wind up here. After moving to town I started asking around for a good place to get a drink after work at and this place kept coming up. Scoped it out and it was exactly what I was hoping it was. Affordable drinks and a laid back atmosphere and for those living in city park it is a short walk there and a relatively safe stumble home. Can’t beat it.

The bathrooms were warm… a huge plus!!! The place is on Colfax… but hey, Colfax is hip now. Saying that, no worries, there was no hipster vibe there. Just people being people. I saw a few people walk in for a drink after work, A few bromance dates, a couple people just playing pool. I loved that out of the three TV’s …there was actually one NOT playing football. I’m sorry Denver there are a few of us who… dare I say it… who don’t care about football. They had Dry dock on tap… the apricot one… my favorite! It was quiet enough to chat with friends and the Mason jar lights were so adorable. DIY idea? I think yes!

Checked out Goosetown Tavern the other night with a few friends. We wanted a few more drinks after hitting up Atomic Cowboy for a while so headed here since bars around this area are a bit spread out. Since it was the day after Christmas, this place was absolutely packed. Good for what it is, which is a standard neighborhood bar with meh food. Inside there’s a long bar inside lined by small tables, with booth seating lining the opposite wall. There’s also a back room where bands can play. One cool thing is that you can sit in the main bar area and check out the band from cameras on TVs above the bar. Pretty standard drinking hole set up and that place you can go to get wastey face with your friends while your feet stick to the drink covered floor. If we lived nearby, this would be the standard fallback bar to meet friends at once you couldn’t think of anywhere else or were being lazy about deciding. 3 stars because let’s be honest, everyone needs one of these joints, it’s good for what it is, and the servers really try their best to keep the patrons satisfied. Nothing memorable but a place you’ll undoubtedly end up at some night. Might not be the world’s best wings, but when you can’t see straight, does it really matter?

Goosetown is something of an enigma to the area. It’s a neighborhood bar in the wrong neighborhood. Just a bit of trend or hipster or whatever to balance out the standard Colfax bar. But it’s still a good place. The service has always been great, the bouncer was really friendly with us on our last excursion, and they have a good selection of booze. I’ve never eaten here so I can’t comment on food. It’s really always been a good place. I’m not in the area that often but when I am I’ll happily wander in. Cheers!

I was in town visiting a friend and his place is right down the street from Goosetown so we decided to stop in for dinner. It was super quiet and a really nice place to hang out. We were in on a Monday night so I’m sure weekends are busier, but it was nice to have a warm, friendly place to go within walking distance of the house. They also had the football game on, which is always a plus in my book. Meg was bartending when we arrived and she took great care of us. She was super friendly and very patient as I sampled a few beers to decide which I wanted to eat. They had a good selection of beers on tap including several different ciders and a few seasonal brews. The food was good, too. I ordered a pizza, my friend ordered a sandwich, and we split an appetizer. The appetizer and pizza were slightly overcooked but the sandwich was good and nothing was inedible. We were full and happy with our food in the end. If Meg is working when you stop in, be sure to say hi and have her take care of you. She’s the best!

I really like this bar. Friendly staff, Guinness on tap(a must for any bar, right?), and the Calzones are pretty tasty. Also, its located near a bunch of other fun bars and restaurants. It’s a dive, but I think that is the vibe they are going for. Although I’m not tattooed, they still wanted me as a customer; kind of unique for this part of town. Enjoy!

They should just put a sign out front that says«Here at Goose Town, we’re better than you and we know it». From the too cool for school hipster/rockabilly/identity crisis bar tender to the confusing décor and layout, this place will have you saying«why did I go out when I could have just sat at home hamering myself in the nuts with a rubber mallet, and pay some guy $ 50 to deliver me a 6 pack of PBR». Seriously, just shut this place down and re-open as a laundromat. You would be doing the people of Colfax a huge favor.

Been here so many times and the service is literally horrible. Talk about pretentious assholes. The place could be empty and you wait forever. Not worth the mediocre food to deal with this service. Just go across the street to basically anywhere else.

Okay place to grab drinks and some appetizers when with a large group. Prices were decent and the bits of food I did taste were yummy! Servers were very attentive considering how many of us there were.

I really just couldn’t figure this place out. Is it a sports bar? Is it a local dive? Should I come here for pizza after a show at the Bluebird? The place looks nice, with plenty of seating options, a nice patio, variety of games, and a big bar. TVs were placed decently, but I wasn’t there to watch anything on TV that day. The staff was alright: they all looked like extras from a Misfits music video circa 1983, and all hung out together, taking turns between smoking cigarettes and congregating behind the bar to whisper to each other in hushed tones. Not going to judge, but I didn’t feel all that welcome: walked in and they all just stared at me and my friend; we stood out like a sore thumb. Their pork wings were awesome though! Great, unique, and just some good eatin’. The burgers were okay: I honestly am not a fan of steamed burgers, but they were still pretty tasty. Basically, I left with a light buzz, a full stomach, and had a good enough time. I’ll probably be back at some point, but I won’t go out of my way to do so. Solidly average East Colfax bar.

I’ve always enjoyed day drinking at Goosetown Tavern. It’s the perfect place to play hooky and spend the day. The décor is totally strange and perfect for the spot on Colfax. It’s actually larger than it seems from the outside so no harm in bringing in a group of peeps for some boozin’. The food menu is… interesting. Can’t say I usually think of this place when I want a good meal but when the drinks are flowing and some solid nourishment is needed this place will do the trick. Generally, I just stick to the day drinking tho. More times than none it’s a laid back crowd who will just go about their business. Then again, I only come here in the day so maybe the crazies aren’t out and about yet. I find the staff to be really cool most of the time. Nothing too wild or crazy — but every now and then some of the gal bartenders are just off their rockers. Let’s just say I’ve seen a few rip into co-workers in front of customers. Hmm. Still, it’s always an entertaining experience. There is a really good selection of drinks and drink specials at this place. Really, isn’t that all that a tavern needs? I’m glad they have Strongbow — always a plus when that gem shows up on tap! There’s something here to wet everyone’s whistle. Duck, duck, Goosetown.

This is a great place to go before a show at Bluebird theater. The food was good and there was a wide variety of Colorado beers on draft. I personally liked the Agave Wheat which just so happened to be the beer of the day and cost me $ 3 for a pint! I don’t hate it! My brother and I had the chicken and waffles which he claimed were the«best he has ever had» which I can’t quite argue against. It had a sausage gravy which added an extra delicious touch in this token sweet and savory combo. Overall the reason I am not giving this place a 5-star is because the service was slow at the start and the plates are slightly pricier than they should be($ 11 for the chicken and waffles?) I’ll be back for sure! Apparently the bands that play at Bluebird frequent this place before the show? Yet another reason to go!

Bar crawling down Colfax can be a lot of fun. Enter bar #3, Goosetown Tavern. The guy at the door, Seth is a very nice guy checking ID’s and with a welcoming smile. Bartenders are very nice and chatty, some great looking eye candy for both of the genders to behold. Back to the bar, a couple great late night HH specials. I was enjoying a draft beer, one of my drinking companions was enjoying the PBR and shot of Jameson for $ 6 special. Not a bad a deal if I say so myself. The highlight besides the wonderful ambiance was the food. I know you’re doubting me right now, the food at the bar — YES — the food was delicious. On the recommendation of Seth we decided on the Chicken Artichoke Dip Sandwich with a side of pasta salad and the Open Faced Tuna Melt Sandwich with tots. The Chicken sandwich was succulent sliced chicken on ciabatta topped with warm Artichoke dip. Best drinking sandwich I would possibly think of — it should be wrong to eat something so heavenly. The Tuna Melt was okay, nothing to write home about and I definitely wouldn’t order it again knowing I could have the Chicken Sandwich again. Another surprise was the pasta salad — an excellent pasta salad. One of the best bars on Colfax with delectable food!
