Had potential. Arrived 45 min before live music on a Sunday. Good atmosphere and music. 6 people total in bar. I was asked for 2nd drink choice & order it to bartender as He is one that asked me. He completely forgot me and order until 15 minutes later as he remained at bar. I thought maybe he had to change out keg. I told him to forget it and walked out before band began.

I love this place. If I’m going to go to a bar, it’s to drink. To drink in peace, maybe listen to a decent but not great band like they have, not have to deal with thump thump music or young people out to score. Great bar. I don’t even want to call it a dive because it’s what a bar is supposed to be.

Drinks were cheap, music was good, but it smelled like puke.

Over the years I have come to like Herb’s more and more. This is really the only bar I will go to in Lodo. They always draw an eclectic group of people of all ages and walks of life. Drinks are cheap. The live music is great! Highly recommend for a night on the town that includes drinking and dancing with friends.

Herb’s is by far my favorite place to go to dance to some funk music! They have awesome bands that come play, and we always have fun when we go. It gets super busy and crowded on the weekends, but don’t fret, there’s a patio!

I went to Herb’s a few weeks ago on a Wednesday night. It was a little busy but not packed as I’ve heard many say it usually is especially over the weekends. My friend and I had a couple shots and beers out on the back patio. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was efficient and pleasant. I usually despise most places in LODO but this is a place I can see myself going back to some night.

I had a really nice time at Herb’s last night. I have been here a couple times before and really enjoyed myself. Last night was no different. I came to «hang» with a few of my friends who are musicians and play there often. The bar service is always great. I got a whiskey with a splash of ginger. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. Sometimes you just need a plain Jamison and ginger, ya know. All my friends and I were served quickly. The drinks are strong and the price is right. I always love the music played here. I mean I may be a little biased because my friends are the musicians but they are a talented bunch. You can hear live music every day of the week. The schedule changes but it’s always a good mix of Jazz, Blues, or Rock. We are very lucky with the level of talent we have in Denver. I saw on a previous review that there is karaōke one night. I didn’t know they did karaōke there. I will have to come back for that. They have a small stage in the back and TV’s towards the front. There was hockey game going on so we had the sports side on one half of the bar and the musicians on the other side. It made for an interesting mix but I can’t complain. Last night was the first time I went out on the patio in the back. It’s a nice size patio with decent tables and seating. And you can bring your dog back there. The weather was gorgeous so we chilled outside for a bit. I had a draft beer for my second drink. I like their selection of beers. The only reason why I didn’t rate this dive 5 stars is because every time I’ve gone there’s always this weird smell in there. It changes every time as to what the smell is but it’s not a good one. Other than that, I love this spot. :)

I’ve been coming to Herb’s for years and have been seeing a steady increase in traffic to definitely one of my favorites in Lodo. I’m by no means, your usual lodo goof so me to even be down in this neck of the woods is few and far between but when I do I always hit up Herb’s. . The dark atmosphere typically is great respite from the loud and craziness of all the surrounding bars and they usually have some pretty cheap drinks for the area. This along with a sweet little patio and usually a fair amount of room makes this a must stop. As I said, they have been getting increasingly popular so beware it might be a mad house as it was on opening day. For some reason though I still was easily able to get a drink and had a great time and will be back. I love this place and recommend anyone to hit them up

Yes they have the copper cup And yes I was poured an extra shot so the guy next to me didn’t have to drink alone And yes there is a dude singing karaōke UMMMMMYESHEISSINGING Eminem! And of course there is a dog sitting like a perfect gentleman waiting on his owner to tell him it’s time to go Dive bar? YES! The total reason I love a good local bar Please go see these guys. They deserve your business

Easily the best dive bar in Denver. Drinks are cheap here, the crowd is laid back and the music is ALWAYS perfect. If you can get past the fact that it smells like vomit and dirty feet upon entering you are bound to have the best night of dancing and drinking in Denver. The bartenders are fun and definitely knowledgeable about their products.

No nonsense good time. Hugged a hot bearded guy there. Lol. Good for dancing to a live band.

Who doesn’t love a late night at Herbs. Great bartender has been there years. Live music, crowded, sweaty but always fun.

I agree with Aimee’s assessment in the fact that they have a lot of options for music. Any style of music could be playing(rock, rap, blues, dance, etc.) here. Usually someone is up dancing and it is sometimes piped in or live — like the few times I have been here. It is a Sunday night and we are here to hear a blurs/jazz band named Nuskool. Friendly bartenders and they want everyone to enjoy themselves. They escort the overly drunk /obnoxious sort out of the door. So you may decide it is a «dive» bar but you should venture in anyway for the safe confines and musically inclined individuals will be sure to find a band of their tastes.

Kyra and Kate were so nice and what great bartenders! They were both attentive and full of stories! Herb’s is always a good time whenever we venture in for drinks. There is usually good music playing and sometimes an impromptu dance party breaks out. They were a total blast and we will definitely be back to see them and the rest of the Herb’s staff.

Herb’s has great live music if you enjoy seeing live bands. Drinks are reasonably priced, but be warned — Herb’s can get really busy. If you go there after a Rockies game or another Downtown event, expect busy bartenders and very few wait staff. The place has old décor and seats, I don’t think it’s been updated since the 70s, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. It’s not usually a super young crowd at Herbs, but I think that depends on the band playing. Their back patio is a smoking area that sits in the alley flanked by a parking lot. It’s still nice to be able to sit outside and if the front door is busy, you can come in through the back door/gate. All and all, I dig the place. It’s like a historic location in LoDo and has been around as long as I can remember. Parking is readily available at several near by lots. No food, but a great place to grab a cocktail and meet friends.

I totally didn’t expect a divebar to be such a high quality place. We were invited by some friends to hear some jazz there. I had no idea to expect, but the band really put on a good show. They even allowed my friend to jam with them. The bartender is awesome. Courteous but not pushy, attentive but give you space. We went on a Tuesday night, not many people. I felt like the whole band was playing just for me and my friends.

Herb’s Hideout is a Denver icon. I have seen many a band at Herb’s, some good, some not-so-good but always had a great time. There is no pretense at the Herb’s, the crowd is there for the music not to be seen or pose for some imaginary camera. I don’t care what anyone says — you can’t beat the Herb’s for a good listen and a cheap drink.

Great dive bar in the neighborhood. During the week, it is mostly locals and musicians enjoying awesome live music and during the weekend the place is packed with live music, people dancing, and great bartenders that manage to get everyone served quickly

This is NOT your typical LoDo/Larimer bar. No douchebags. No Ed Hardy tee shirts. No $ 10 beers. No club-ish/grinding/fist pumping music. No 21 year olds dressed as sluts. basically herbs offers… unique group of locals, despite being located in LoDo. less cliquey groups of people, all down to have a good time. awesome drink specials/prices in general. [super cheap and major bang for your buck!] local bands [even jazz!] thats perfect for dancing and jamming out to! low key and relaxed atmosphere/décor with an underground vibe. just my kind of place :)

Talk about a big bang for your buck! Herbs Hideout is the perfect place to do just that — hide from all the douchebags that have begun to frequent this neighborhood. I went in after spending the day at Oktoberfest. They refilled our large steins for $ 5 and we aren’t talking Butt(I mean) Bud Light… quality beer for cheap! Bobby behind the bar was ever so helpful and polite. I’m a big fan of monstrous advertising so the bright HERB’S light on the back outdoor wall is awesome! The patio itself offered plenty of room and a back alley entrance(for when you need to make a quick exit). While I have not been here to see the live music the fact that it is offered makes this bar a do not miss!
