Only ever been for drinks at night, but on Wednesdays everyone drinks for free from 10 – 11 pm & the pickle-infused vodka shots are pretty damn tasty. & I hate vodka. Nice dark pub-like interior, friendly staff, outdoor patio for smokers, close to lots of other fun spots.

If you haven’t had a pickle shot from Retro Room, you’re missing out. They also have delicious bacon-wrapped jalapeños. Oh and $ 3 you-call-its? Retro Room is always a must visit in Denver.

A hidden gem for getting a guy’s haircut. They have men’s night on Wednesday which provides a haircut and beer at a great value. I’ve been seeing Kat for my haircuts. She’s fun to hang with, gives a great haircut and I’ll continue to see her for as long as she’s around. Parking is metered and can be in short supply so give yourself a few extra minutes to get a spot.

the infused vodka I give 3. The bar itself is definitely unique in comparison to some bars in the Lodo area. Generally this place is a «pre-game» spot, way too crowded to actually hang out being that the bar is always at least 3 – 4 bodies deep. I think 2 bartenders to a full bar is just not enough. Which brings me to why they get 2 stars… Because the establishment seems to be understaffed, it’s difficult to pay attention to their patrons the way they should be. I had a man shove me and threaten me repeatedly at the bar for«getting in his way» while trying to get drinks just like everyone else. After notifying security, they said they couldn’t do anything because they had no proof of it they couldn’t do anything. Instead of just kicking him out, they asked him to «not threaten the ladies»… WTF? So I left because I felt extremely uncomfortable. Isn’t that their job as SECURITY?

I frequently visit Retro Room on my lunch breaks considering its less than a block away. I absolutely love the ambiance in here as well as the music selections. Erica and Gonzo are by far the best bartenders I’ve encountered. They’re always very welcoming and are quick to make anyone feel comfortable. I love their burger, beer and fry special for $ 6. They have other menu items that are all affordable and great for a quick lunch. The food is always yummy and served pretty quickly(which again, is perfect for a 30 minute lunch break!). I also can’t get over their AWESOME infused vodka selection. I’m obsessed with their apple cinnamon Moscow mule, it’s delicious. I’d also recommend their pickle shots, as that’s probably one of their most popular menu items. If you’re in the area, please do yourself a favor and check out the Retro Room. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve come in happy and left happier. What’s a better experience than that?

Get the pickle shot, or if you dare — the scorpion shot! I like this bar and used to go to get my hair done. One of the stylists didn’t follow the color(wanted dark chestnut and got black) or cut(wanted long side bangs and got very short crooked straight bangs), so I got somewhere else now.

A review that promised the the smell of farts and liquor so onward I went into the Retro Room. The infused vodka shots were decent. There were no farts to breathe in which was a major let down. My lungs might not have been adjusted to Rocky Mountain gas.

Incredibly packed place that smells of farts and liquor. Welcome to a downtown bar! I got bumped into repeatedly so many times and had to refrain from yelling at people for doing so. They had great drinks here I guess, but there are plenty of other bars that are the same. There are no places to sit and it took me 30 minutes to even reach to counter to get a drink due to the crowd there. I will definitely not be coming back.

Scorpion… shots! Yes you heard me right. Vodka, baby scorpion and a hard time swallowing! One of the weirdest things I have done since moving to Colorado! Other than the weird shots, the most incredible shots are the pickle shots! I could just sip for days. Please give this place a try you won’t regret the night!

One of my favorite places to have a drink in Denver! the pickle and pepperoncini infused vodkas are the best I’ve ever had. We always make certain to stop here when in town!

Stopped in here before a Rockies game. Their special is the infused vodkas as you can see across the bar when you sit down. My friend ordered some pickle shots for when I arrived. I said«ok…» and not going to lie, doesn’t sound good to me and I was quite weary. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t my favorite either. It just tasted like pickle juice basically. We also tried cucumber(very strong), and before we left the lovely bartender gave us the grapefruit flavored one on the house. That with a little club soda, and it was delish! If I shall ever need liquid courage again, I’d return in a heartbeat!

It’s best to come here early before it gets packed. They have a lot of interesting infused drinks, but I prefer their Adiós Motherf*cker cocktails. Be forewarned, these go down smooth and fast. Pace yourself as the booze will hit you out of nowhere and it could get ugly. If you’re a smoker, they have a small smoking patio in the back. Service is pretty friendly. In fact, they probably have the friendliest door guys in all of LoDo. As for prices, I find them pretty moderate.

I usually come here during the week for«lunch». My favorite thing about this place are the outstanding bartenders. Erika is really personable and welcoming. I love all the options for in-house infused vodka — try the pickle! My one complaint is that the food menu is lacking in anything healthy and most items are frozen. I wish they would at least have wheat bread as an option for the sandwiches.

A wonderful place, with a variety of drinks. They sell themselves on their pickle shots,(everyone loves a big pickle!) but have a variety of infused liquor, from apple, to cherry, to strawberry, or apricot. Stay away from the cherry, unless you like cough syrup! Some people do! In addition to the infused vodkas, they do have infused whiskeys, rums, etc. Def worth a try. Their one, very severe shortfall is they have nothing for non alcohol drinkers, except soda, or ginger beer in a can! They could certainly use some Beck’s or O’Douls! People start here after their dinner or dance club, and cross to Ginn Mill about 11 – 11:30 to finish the night. Definitely not a dancy place, people crowd around each other, and walk through. There’s a patio smoking area in back, for those who would smoke tobacco.

I stopped in here specifically to try their infused vodka with some friends. The doorman was nice and it wasn’t too difficult to get a drink, even on Pride Fest weekend. Thats about the only nice things I can say. Not sure what part of this place is supposed to be retro. Its super hipster which means cutting edge of not actually retro. As for the vodka, 5 of us got pickle vodka. 0 of us could detect any vodka in the shot. I’m am 98% sure there was not any vodka in the pickle juice at all. None of us could taste it, and I certainly felt no burn or buzz. In the end, that was really expensive juice. We could have bought a jar of pickles at King Soopers and drunk the juice for way less. Having only had 1 drink previously, I think I’d be able to detect a shot of alcohol in my system. Nope. Just pickle flavor.

Retro Room will always be my go-to bar in Denver, and it is always the one bar that nobody disputes when you suggest we stop there. Bartenders are super friendly and efficient, pickle shots are one-of-a-kind, and i has this cool, low key vibe to it that I love. Also, if you are single, this is the place to be. I am not but my boyfriend and I came once and realized we were the only couple in the bar, which I loved. It gives it that party vibe without feeling frathouse-y. It is the perfect go-to bar on a Saturday night or a Sunday afternoon, and I love it for that. I also love that not an ounce of snobbery has snuck into this place. It is what it is, and that is its most endearing quality. Well, and the Buck Hunter.

Great place for an infused drink! Lines are always terrible long and the space is small and crowded. They specialize in fun infused alcohols that add a twist to any drink, or order them as a shot. My personal favorite is the strawberry vodka with gingerale, it’s a drink but it’s so tasty you will want at least 3 of them. Prices here can seem a little steep $ 5 for a pickle shot(granted they are bigger than a regular shot and are meant to be sipped on).
