The first time I went here, it was pretty great, but not good enough for me to go on Unilocal and review it. Today, I was absolutely floored by the experience. The barista working this afternoon was world-class. Each and every one of the five drinks I ordered was exemplary in flavor and presentation. She was friendly, calm, and helpful despite grappling with a Powerpoint on her laptop between customers. No joke, I’ve had a lower-quality macchiato from the reigning United States Barista Champion down in LA than I got at Huckleberry Roasters today. Owners, when you read this review, give her a bonus. The ambiance is great, from the lighting to the music to the climate control. They have a bin where they give away their burlap green coffee bags for free(art supplies!) The roasters obviously know their stuff, the baristas are all pretty knowledgeable, and they’ve got a wealth of high-quality equipment. Their vanilla syrup is house-made with actual vanilla beans. Don’t pass it up. All in all, this is now my favorite coffee shop in the Denver area. Go. Here. Now.

I love this place. Not only do they have the best iced coffees on this side of town, the staff is always super friendly, and on Mondays they have DONUTS and DONUTHOLES. Mmmf. If you wanna bring your laptop and work while you sip your coffee, or have a mid-day meeting, the shop is quiet and chill, plus there patio seating in the front for warm days and customers with dogs. I work around the block and love my mid-afternoon coffee break at Huckleberry’s. The staff always makes me smile and the caffeine is a fairly priced pick-me-up. Plus there’s cool art on the walls all the time. If you want a pastry with your coffee(and I usually do), the cashew curry cake is so good.

A little underwhelming to be honest. The latte was fine, but I remember a distinct and unusual flavor to go along with it. The texture was a little off as well. It was also a little cold. Now before you just assume I don’t know what a good latte is, just look at my profile and see that I’ve had probably thousands of them in my life. Maybe they were just having an off day, but the most memorable thing from the whole experience was wondering why the taste was a little off. I also tried the one on Pecos and was a little more satisfied with that shop. In general, the ambiance of the store has a very quiet sophistication to it. This place is fine but nothing special.

Huckleberry is one of those coffee shops where I can just sit, do work, and people watch for hours. While it’s located in the downtown area, it’s far enough away from all the hoopla so you can find decent street parking. The space is just large enough for a small crowd. I love the large stone counter. The baristas are nice and I like the interior design and ambiance. As for coffee, I tried the La Angostura(Costa Rica), which was a light-medium roast. It was a little too acidic for my taste. I was a little disappointed that they used industrial pot brewers instead of v60 drip. But they do have free refills in-shop for a $ 3 cup. My girlfriend tried the often ordered vanilla latte since they use actual real vanilla beans in their homemade syrup. It wasn’t too sweet, and one of the better vanilla lattes I’ve tried. Check out their small corner with original greeting cards for a good laugh.

Coffee was super good. When I sat down at a table with a friend cold air was blowing on us. Barista told me it was actually warm air blowing from the heater. Guess I have a faulty sensory system. He said he’d turn it down for a bit but then did not. Strawberry scone had only one strawberry on top. I asked for jam but they were out. Instead of offering me something else the same barista said«that sucks.» Awesome, thanks.

A cappuccino is my litmus test for a good coffee shop: they passed with ease. The foam layer was dense with small bubbles and the espresso had a delightful amount of sharpness. We also tried the pumpkin spice latte: don’t gag please. This one was actually tasted like the the roasted vegetable with a spicy blend of seasoning; not syrupy nastiness. I despise PSLs, but this one will turn the coldest PSL haters like me into smiling fans(but only here). This is a great coffee shop.

I’m not a coffee connoisseur, but i do love their coffee. Nice atmosphere, friendly folks. Hard to go wrong whether you’re grabbing one for the road or planning to sit and get a little work done.

Well, the in shop experience is for sure quite nice. Great ambiance, and friendly baristas. For how hyped up the coffee was though, I expected way, way better. I had two things. The first was a regular drip coffee. It was watery and lacked any real flavor. I also had a latte, the drink that I judge many coffee shops by. It was … well. It was steamed milk on top of lackluster espresso. My roommate bought two bags of beans, because we had tried Huckleberry at Crema and were very pleased. We brought them home, and each time I’ve tried some through a conventional coffee pot brewing system, it tastes dull. And, adjusting ratios hasn’t done much to help. In french press, though, the brightness of the beans is brought out and it has a good flavor. Unfortunately I think something in the roasting process disagrees with my system, as I’ve gotten consistently sick after drinking this coffee each time. But I think that’s just me. My advice is to get the beans on your own and brew them with a french press if you want good flavor.

A great place to stop if you’ve been walking all over downtown Denver in 100 degree heat! My first impression was that this would be a pretentious hipster haven — and I was wrong! While there were some tattoos and 19th-century beards, I had one of the best iced coffees here. For cheap, too, with the little discount for those who sip their coffee in the shop.

I am really loving this place. Vibe is way more welcoming then some other local spots here! And their blue orchid espresso is phenomenal… I am all about the nuttier richer espresso and this one is great. Love the outdoor patio section to just chill out for awhile. Great place to stop and get your coffee. Simple but delicious

This place is beautiful and the staff is awesome. My wife and I were in Boulder and happened upon the opening of a new coffee shop. The owner told us they get their coffee from Huckleberry in Denver. Driving around Denver, we ran into Huckleberry in Five Points. I ran in and found they roast and sell Ardi coffee. Now, this is a treat because Ardi is my favorite coffee. It’s from Ethiopia, it’s smooth and sweet. But also, Ardi is hard to find. The woman behind the counter gave me tips for brewing and another offered me a cup of their drip. It was so delicious. What a fun place to come, relax and drink some of the tastiest coffee in the world. That’s not a joke. They really do have some of the best coffee in the world.

Huckleberry is a classic, good quality roaster. I enjoyed my drink and the employees were very friendly! I would definitely visit again. Why come here: –The employees are personable and friendly. Always nice not to have a snooty barista. –I ordered a mocha– which was poured and mixed perfectly– very good. –Coffee shop is in a cool part of town. The style of Huckleberry fits in perfectly with other businesses on Larimer st. Downfalls: –I wish the coffee shop was a little cleaner. It was not a dirty mess, but I have been to some other coffee shops in the area that I would consider better because they were much cleaner. –The espresso was pretty good, but not the absolute best.

Is good coffee supposed to taste bitter? It was. Maybe it is my unrefined pallet? Great place to sit outside with a friend when it is not too hot. Styled out small interior. There are places to work/study but it is a small interior, and probably would not be conducive to sitting long periods, per the design of the place. But thats fine, its not meant for that.

This place came highly recommended by a friend so the expectations were high. The drip coffee was absolute perfection: smooth, balanced, and excellent to drink just black. Now, as for the espresso: not so perfect. I tried both of their roasts for the day and I wasn’t impressed. I drink espresso daily and had such high hopes. I ordered a cappuccino as well and I wasn’t impressed with the coffee they used. The coffee was extremely sour. Which could mean a couple things ranging from the prep(too quick), not enough seeping, CO2, using coffee beans instead of espresso grounds, etc. The sourness was quite unpleasant both times. But their drip was excellent, so I cannot complain there. The service was also remarkable. It’s a wonderful place, so I’ll definitely give it another chance.

Cute place to grab coffee downtown. I like the décor and the music they play. The barista was nice enough to explain some of their drinks. I got their special which was some kind of earthy mocha drink. Yum! Really good. I need to come back for the jams I saw in the counter! Haha

This little shop packs a punch. Don’t let the young baristas fool you — they know more about coffee than you and your mom combined. In fact, ask them about coffee and watch them light up with enthusiasm — they aren’t your common baristas. They are changing the landscape of coffee in Denver. It’s all science here — nothing eyeballed, nothing unmeasured. This is my 5th visit here and they are officially well deserved 5 stars for amazing craft beverages.
