The first time I had Jim N Nicks was when they catered an event at my former employer, Children’s Hospital. It was so good, and I had no idea what this place was, and that they had multiple locations. Now, my Dad and I like to have business meetings with colleagues at this location. The staff is always awesome, they seriously hire the friendliest people. I love their«uniforms» also, laid back and definitely fits the BBQ atmosphere. I also brought my best friend here, who is gluten intolerant, and there was plenty of good food to choose from. I’ve had their hot links, brisket, loaded potato, and yesterday I had their Pig in the Garden salad. For trimmings I’ve tried their beans, coleslaw, collard greens, and fries. I have not been disappointed with any of the food! One of my favorite things about this restaurant are the prices, you can easily eat for under $ 10 if you choose. They also have a very clean restaurant and restroom, which I appreciate. Everyone I go with raves about their cheesy cornbread, I can’t speak on it because I am not a cornbread fan, but give that a try for sure :)

Best BBQ in town! Excellent service. Great atmosphere/staff. Kid/family friendly. Love J&N! – I feel like I’m back home in the South.

The bbq here is outstanding. Ribs are tender and yummy. Potato salad might be the best in town. This chain started in the Deep South and it shows… Hope they expand here. They could improve on the beer selection, but this is my third time here and the wait staff is just awful. Uninformed, surly, indifferent and it’s been that way every single time I’ve been here. Too bad. S

This is my favorite place that get chicken strips. Not only are the strips so delicious, but they also come with the infamous cheesy biscuits. Last time I was in I tried the chocolate pie – do yourself a favor and get some Jim and Nicks pie in your life. You won’t be sorry. Recently I had the fabulous Brandon as my waiter, which was definitely a plus. Super friendly and accommodating even though he was clearly slammed. Go to Jim and Nicks!

Ordered the chicken plate to go. I open up the box and there was a half of a half of a chicken breast and a half of a wing piece! The two sides that I ordered were the macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes which were nothing more than a couple of bites of each!!! I will never eat here again.

My boyfriend and I ate here last night and had the best customer service by a server named George. He greeted our table so politely and answered all of our questions. When it came time to order food he double checked to made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I wasn’t too impressed with the chips and queso, since they skimped on the salsa and dip, but the cornbread rolls were delicious. When our entrée came out, George swung by again to make sure everything was ok. As a server myself, I thought he handled his busy section well and always greeted with a smile and polite manner. When we come back, I’m asking for him.

Extremely average. Went Sunday night. Seated promptly. Place was humming but not packed. Cheese biscuits were good. Pulled pork was gristly for two of my guests. Hot links were dry as were the Baby Back Ribs. Service was fine. I probably won’t go back.

BBQ is ok. but what I like to come for are the chicken strips. They taste like Black eye Peas version,(not as big) but very juicy and well battered, plus they have a good honey mustard to match. The sit down service is okay, but the to –go and drive thru are lacking. One evening the drive thru took 25 – 30 min to prepare the food, no one else was in line. It may have been busy inside but I only ordered a baked potato and bbq sammie? Another incident occurred when we came in to order to-go at the bar and to have a beer while we waited, this time a ticket got lost and part of the meal was not ever put in. We received everything almost 45 min later, although the new guy(not the one who took the order) was very apologetic about it and comped a banana pudding. It’s okay if your looking to sit down, but anything to go or fast seems to get lost somewhere.

The first thing I feel compelled to mention is that their service is exceptional. The owner checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with our meals. Our server also checked in on us often and made sure to top off our drinks each time. Truly incredible service. They started us out with a fresh batch of warm cheesy corn bread. Honestly the best corn bread we’ve ever had. They even brought us extra to take home! As for our meals, I’m a little mixed. My dad loved his brisket, beans, and mashed potatoes. I can’t speak to those because I didn’t try any of his plate. My husband ordered a pound of the baby back ribs. The ribs were tender, but also very salty. The mac and cheese was fairly standard and we really enjoyed the coleslaw. The coleslaw is a vinegar slaw, which happens to be our favorite. I know that others prefers more mayo on their slaw. I ordered the ¼ pound chicken wing and breast. It was a little on the dry side, but after drenching it in the delicious habanero bbq sauce, I could hardly tell. I ordered collards and fruit for my side dishes. The collards were really salty. I only took a couple of bites because I couldn’t handle the amount of salt in them. All of the fruit was great though, very fresh and ripe. The other thing worth mentioning is that they only offer two types of BBQ sauce. One is very spicy, which I love, and the other is more of a vinegar BBQ sauce. No sweet BBQ sauce available on the table. Just something to note if you’re more of a sweet tangy BBQ sauce type.

Best bbq I’ve had in Denver since moving from the South. Add your own sauce, good variety of sauces. Onion rings perfectly crispy.

Drove by looking for something different than the usual. We found something brilliant at Jim ‘N Nicks. Food was absolutely delicious. Queso was great and that’s not easy for a Texan to say outside of Texas. Habanero Bar-B-Q Sauce had a great kick to add to either the brisket or pulled pork. My daughter said the brown gravy on the mashed potatoes was the best she ever had. Service was exceptional.

Delicious bbq. We have been 3 times since they opened. The drive through is a great idea. However, it is not super quick so if you are in a hurry, don’t use this. On the flip side, they aren’t super quick because they are preparing things fresh. It’s not an inexpensive place to eat but totally worth it. Great atmosphere, great food, great service

Full disclosure-I am from Texas and I have lived in Austin. Not preaching just know I’ve had my share of great BBQ. This place is pretty good and easily one of the better option around Denver. Laid back atmosphere, great smell on the nose, and decent cocktails. Food was pretty tastes for most part. I thought brisket was a little dry but that’s me. Would be a good choice to try out.

Had to wait 25 minutes after the time they told me for my food. I watched 3.5 full innings of baseball, not even a drink offered to me. I paid $ 19 for the food I’m about to show you. I have always wanted and waited to try this place. Finally got takeout and it was expensive but I figured be worth it with a lot of food. I was terribly wrong. Best thing was the fruit. Save your money and just eat somewhere else.

My wife has been keeping a secret from me! She’s been here before but finally decided to bring me. Just off the interstate, it’s in a perfect location. We arrived at 730 on a Friday night, and weren’t surprised to hear there was a wait. That can only mean good things. We were also offered water or a drink while we waited. We didn’t take them up on it, but that’s really great customer service. Now for the food — what started with amazing cheesy biscuits was only the beginning. I was happy to see the Carolina pork, as my dad is from North Carolina and makes the best pulled pork, which I haven’t been able to find anywhere. Oh happy day! Justin was more than accommodating with the menu and making choices. My wife and I split the Carolina pork and brisket. Both were fantastic. In Colorado Springs, the best you can get is at Rudy’s or Bird Dog but I’d gladly drive all the way up here for more Jim n Nick’s!

As someone who lived in Texas for 18 years before moving to Denver about 3 years ago, I’ve been on a quest for good BBQ in Denver. After eating at Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ on Hampden I can say unequivocally and without a shadow of a doubt that the quest continues. I ordered a 3 meat plate, choosing Brisket, Pulled pork, and Turkey. I also got potato salad, coleslaw and beans. The whole staff, everyone I interacted with was great, super friendly and helpful. She first brought out 2 small cheddar biscuits, which I would have preferred with the food so I didn’t touch them until my food came. When the food finally arrived my initial thought based on the visual appearance was, «This looks promising.» Then she set the plate in front of me, and visually the first thing that struck me were the disgusting looking, warm, limp slices of cucumber. I’ve seen pickles, but this was raw cucumber. Then I was struck with an odor intermingled with all the other smells, an odor that gave me an initial mental picture of well worn socks forgotten in a gym bag, left in a hot car trunk for a couple weeks. It smelled rancid. I sniffed around my plate and identified it as the white sauce on the turkey. Me, being the trooper that I am, decided to try it anyway. It had the memorable taste of vomit, not a good memory in any shape or fashion. I tried it twice just to be sure and it was nasty both times. I wiped as much away and then drowned the turkey in their nondescript bbq sauce. At these prices, I’m not wasting protein over a little thing like flavor. I later found out they called it «Morgan County Sauce.» I don’t know where Morgan County is, but the air force should be sent in to Napalm that place. The pulled pork was moist and tender, but ABSOLUTELY flavorless. Same with the brisket. Both came with bbq sauce on top, and that was all I tasted. I tried some of the pork from under the pile to get it without sauce, and there was just no flavor or spice. I did the same with the brisket with similarly disappointing results. Brisket should have a smokiness, you should be able to taste the rub, the gristle, the wood. This tasted of very little. Incredibly disappointing. The potato salad and beans were good, the coleslaw was bland. The only hero was the biscuits and they were cold due to the waiting for the plate of sadness. Now I’m not one to complain about price when the food is good. I’ve paid $ 90– $ 110 for sushi, $ 60 — $ 70 for Brazilian… I’ll pay for good food. With that said, this meal for one came to $ 29.70, without dessert. That was ridiculous. Back in Texas they have a fast food bbq chain called Bill Miller’s. I could have gotten the same meal for less than $ 20, and it would taste a thousand times better. I decided I would skip dessert at Jim ‘N Nick’s and I went to Milk & Cake in the same parking lot and had a cup cake. I took it outside and as I sat there eating it an older couple got out of their car and headed for milk & cake too. The lady said, «I smell bbq.» I pointed and said, there’s Jim ‘N Nick’s at the end of the parking lot. «Yeah», the gentleman said, «we ate at their Northfield location once. It was the worst bbq we ever had.» «I totally feel your pain, I just made that mistake myself» I responded. I would say that in Colorado, as it stands, the only choice so far for GOODBBQ, you have to drive to Rudy’s BBQ in Colorado Springs. And their original store is in New Braunfels, TX(which I’ve eaten at hundreds of times) so you know it’s good. that’s it so far.

I like some good BBQ. So, I tried out Jim N Nicks. This is the first place since living in Baton Rouge that I have found a place that serves a baked potato loaded with BBQ. I went for the pulled pork one and it was delicious. I enjoyed a good shot of their BBQ sauce as well. Like BBQ? Then come on down.

We went through the drive thru and ordered the Piggie sandwich(1 pulled pork, 1 beef brisket) to go. For the wait we expected a little more on the sandwich… light sauce, meat, buns, and a single pickle? The pork was ok, but the brisket could be compared to an Arby’s roast beef sandwich. Plain. From the delicious smell pouring out of the back of the restaurant, I expected a deeper flavor in the meat. The sides or «trimmings» were ordinary and nothing special. The best thing was probably the small cheese biscuits; odd for a BBQ joint. Two combos and a small order of biscuits = $ 23.50 I would suggest eating in so that you can get extra sauces, you’ll need it to spruce up the meats.

I love this place. The service is great and is arguably the best bbq in Colorado. Give it a shot, and this one has a drive thru!
