The location is so convenient, and the food is so good and so cheap. Love the couple who run it who are crazy friendly. I had the hot dog with cheese and sloppy joe on it – a top-shelf, hearty bun and a few onions completed the meal. I’ll be by to visit them very, very often.

I’m glad to see more and more food trucks with exquisite personalities poppin’ up all around my ‘hood.’ Yes, when I say ‘hood,’ I mean Colfax — by far one of the most eclectic crowds you’ll find in Denver. But okay, let’s talk food! I consider these to be Denver’s sloppy joe version of Chicago hot dog; stuffed to the brink with cheese sauce, fried onions, veggies, onions, and hot sauce(tons to choose from). You get to select how much you want of each, so there’s really no wrong answer to be had. All in all, just think of it as the most action-packed sloppy joe ever and you’ll have a blast with it. It’s pretty cheap, too!

Have you ever seen a sloppy joe food cart? Me either! There’s one in Denver now, really close to the capital building on Colfax and Grant. They have a decent variety of lunch offerings, ranging from full on hoagie rolls filled with sloppy joe, cheese sauce, and french fried onions, to nachos with sloppy joe and cheese. My favorite has got to be the Frito pie with TVP(textured vegetable protein) and cheese, and I’m not even a vegetarian! Plus, any place that sells Capri Sun is a win, in my book. They periodically change up some of their menu items, such as having tacos on Cinco de Mayo. It’s fun to see what they might bring to the table! I’ve never been a big sloppy joe eater, but I think I’m addicted now! Come check them out during the week! You won’t be disappointed!

My little work corner has finally gotten its own mobile food stand with Joe’s Sloppy Js. The couple that owns the stand is super nice. And they have a great product too: Various Js served on tasty hoagies with delicious sloppy joe sauce(slow cooked with onions and peppers) and your choice of crisp french fried onions and gooey cheese. They even have a vegetarian option which is just as good as meat(really!). I go all in with the french fried onions and the cheese. I am practically addicted to french fried onions so I think their crunchiness is great addition. You can also get the sloppy J in either nacho or frito pie form. Either way is quite yummy. They also offer quite a few condiments with their meal: The usual suspects like ketchup, but also sriracha hot sauce and pickled jalapenos. Did I tell you the food is ridiculously cheap? A sandwich by itself is only $ 3.50. A meal with chips and a drink is just $ 5. Everything else on the menu is very wallet-friendly as well. Joe’s Sloppy Js is a great mobile food idea executed very well and done with great customer service. I know that opening and running a business is a huge risk for most people, so I really hope that these guys get the following they definitely deserve.
