Knights Inn Denver – Gateway to Downtown

Had to find a hotel in a pinch cuz all the others were booked and I have to say that sleeping in the car would have been a far better option. Stained walls, holes in the doors, tiles falling into the bathtub, bathrooms smells like piss, and to top it off we watch a man dam near get beaten to death.
DO NOT STAY HERE ITS NOT SAFE!!!

This place is gross. I got stuck here on a last minute business trip. Everything else close to downtown was booked up. I figured, this trip is all business so I was more concerned about proximity to my venue than amenities of the hotel.
The only thing that this hovel has going for it is that it is a five minute drive to downtown or Sports Authority field.
The hotel itself is gross. I’m not exaggerating at all. The walls are dirty brown, the bedding was covered in hair. The towels are absolutely pitiful. The towels are the size of a dish towel, and are stained a dirty white. I can literally see thru the towels they are so thin.
I stayed here for four nights. Everyday when I went back to my room, my key card would not work. I would have to walk to the front desk and have them reset my card.
Avoid this place at all cost.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
We made the mistake of waiting until SUPER late at night to try and find our place to sleep that night. Most places had no rooms so we found this place after probably an hour of searching the internet and calling for availability.
We arrived to check in and were given the choice of staying at the Kinghts Inn or the Ramada (they share a lobby I guess). We chose the Knights Inn since it was $ 20 cheaper for the night. MISTAKE.
We got to our room which had an abandoned old hotel chair sitting outside of it, with a plastic table. There was a guy cat-​calling from the second story by our room and a girl across the pool area from us was climbing out the window and making a lot of noise. Not the greatest feeling when you’ve just arrived. We went to open our door and put in the card key– turned green — but the door wouldn’t budge. It was like it was deadbolted shut… so my husband tried to open it and the metal handle of the door came off.
The people the next door down came out with their bags as this happened and they said «Yeah, we’ve already upgraded.» Not a great sign that the inside would be any better… so we went to the lobby and asked to just pay the extra $ 20 and «upgrade» to the Ramada. **(Those people were leaving the parking lot when we went to «upgrade» which means they went to stay somewhere else because it was that bad)** We paid the difference and made our way up to the Ramada Room. ($ 79/​night + tax — YIKES)

BED BUGS!
My in-​laws stayed here and had to leave because the place has BED BUGS!
The place seems to be aware of the issue, they told us to wash our close in hot water.

I’ve recently stayed at the Knights Inn and it was a totally different experience than what I was expecting. Being that I work for a hotel it was very hard not to look for everything that was wrong with the stay. Even though I was not looking for a five star experience I still wanted a good experience. However, this stay started completely wrong from the front desk all the way to the room. At check-​in I was greeted by an agent but there were only two working at the time. The agent that was checking me in was constantly interrupted by the other agent so check-​in took a little over ten minutes. Then I go up to the room and I can’t get in so I went all the way back downstairs to tell them my key was not working and was told I needed to lift the handle up to open the door. (smile) Once I was in the room I noticed that it was pretty big for the money I was paying for it, which was good. I pulled back the covers and checked the sheets and they were clean so I was pleased with that. The room had one window that you were able to open, downfall was that it didn’t have a screen on the window. Good thing I didn’t check in until the evening so there was no problem with bugs. The biggest bummer was that the A/​C did not work properly and they had no fans to bring up to the room. Also, the telephone did not work so I could not call front desk from the room I had to call on my cell phone. Lastly the bed was so broken in that when you laid down you rolled to the middle of the bed. (smile) Overall, the location was great because it was five minutes away from downtown. The fact that I needed a room and it was pretty much the last hotel in the area with rooms still left I really could not complain. The saying you get what you get and don’t throw a fit was so true in this case. (smile) Even though the beginning of the stay was pretty crazy and the amenities and accommodations were not five star quality they do give you free breakfast in the morning. So big ups to that!!! This will always be a last resort stay for me from here on out. If they improved some of the things wrong in this hotel the reviews will get a lot better. The things that are wrong are very small and easy to fix so they just need to get to it and guest experiences will get a lot better.

This place needs to be condemned. I’ve stayed at better low-​rent hotels in the interior of China. Everything is falling apart from the front desk to the handles on the doors. Camping is more sanitary…

Even at check in, Veronica at the front desk was a short, insensitive bitch who left a bad taste in my mouth with the way people in Denver treat each other. She was rude, acted like she could care less, and treated my handicapped mother, my friend and myself like shit. No one in the «hospitality» industry should be allowed to be so dismissive, so short, and so blatantly rude as she was. I lost an item there and trying to get her to help me was like pulling teeth on a rabid pitbull. I will never stay in Knights Inn/​Ramada again unless I get some kind of compensation.
Hotel was dirty, moldy, and shit. Smelled like death warmed over.

I’ve never walked out of a hotel never to return again the same way someone would walk out of a bad movie (looking at you «A Scanner Darkly), but after an hour or so at the Knights Inn I knew I made a grave mistake choosing this hotel sight unseen. The floor of the room was wet and the whole place smelled like mold. The bed linens looked like they had been folded, but hadn’t actually been washed in weeks. Pieces of the wall were falling off in the bathroom and to make things worse there was a loud screeching noise coming from some unknown source.
I quickly grabbed my things and asked the front desk for a refund. Honestly, the place is so dilapidated I can’t believe they actually let people they there. It’s like a roach motel that even roaches would stay away from.
