While I would not consider myself an oenophile, I do savor an exquisite wine. On my continued quest to locate a particular vintage, I came across Labate Liquors. Interesting enough that the name is most likely Italian in origin, «L’Abate» a variant of «Abate» meaning a ‘priest’ or servant to a priest. Regardless, once again my prize was able to evade me sadly as my tastes are more venerable. While this is certainly not an exclusive establishment if your desire is of a more refined caliber liquor, please, do not be discouraged by my defeat. Without doubt it is an adequate enough establishment for most, as they do have generous selection of liquors, beer and wines for the common patron … better than a few of the other places I have happened to stop by. Prices are notably comparable as well. I will also say the guys at the counter are friendly, helpful and entertaining in assisting you find what they have on the shelves. However don’t expect a sommelier for any kind of pairings. The Two things I found distressing were this: 1) The store is located in an area that is kind of run down(my apologies to the residents) but clearly it’s not in a «good» neighborhood. 2) Is be VERY aware regarding the guys asking for money in their parking lot. We felt momentarily as if we were going to be robbed when we were accosted by a man waiting around the corner by our car. He was specifically waiting for people to exit with change. Drink, be merry and be safe.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Denver, CO
This place used to be a little ragged, but it’s nearly new now. They carry a decent selection of beers and the service is quick. The reason for 5 stars is the older Asian man that works there. He is an absolute riot. Even if you have to drive out of your way for this place, its worthwhile to experience being berated by a 5′ nothing Asian guy.
