This is the BEST Pizza I have ever had in Denver. I love a few places: Enzo’s, the Margerita Pizza at Bucca Di Beppo, sometimes Benny Blanco’s depending on the night, and a few straglers here and there, but Luciano’s has the best crust and creative ambition. Customizing sauce and crust. awesome.

Um… yeah hey Luciano’s the 1980’s «all circuits are busy» recording as if we are all teenagers trying to get in on the radio station call-in isn’t fooling anyone. Do you take orders til 11? Or 11:30? Make it clear, make up your mind if you want to answer delivery calls and if so — and put that info on the site. In the meantime — another local place got my $. I’d like to try — but see above.

Wow, I was not expecting their pizza to be so awesome! A little while ago, me and some friends went to a concert at City Hall. I was DD so I didn’t drink that night, but everyone else needed to sober up a little, so we decided to go for some pizza before we headed into the concert. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza and a slice of buffalo chicken pizza, both of which were delicious and very affordable(… and the ranch was free)! The dough had a great taste and flavor, and there was the perfect amount of tasty sauce, cheese, and toppings on each slice. I’ve had a hard time finding a descent slice of pizza in CO, but now I’ve found a new favorite pizzeria. You’ll definitely see me there again at some point.

How disappointing. I live in the neighborhood and Luciano’s is usually amazing. Today I went in and the guy behind the counter treated me like he’d rather be getting a root canal than take my order. My table and all the others were filthy. I had to rake crumbs out of my way. Food took forever and my slice was old and dry. Thankfully the wings were on point. Luciano’s is better than this. I hope things get fixed.

$ 1 drafts at happy hour? Yes please! Wanted to try something new so the wife found this place. And low and behold, they serve my two favorite foods, wings and pizza. Love the different choices for crust, toppings, and sauce. Wings were great, sauces tasty. Went on a suggestion from the guy working the counter and it didn’t disappoint. The Boston something or other, can’t remember right now. It had some nutmeg in it and was pretty odd, but very tasty. We got a medium pizza, and it was pretty good. Ate most of it the next night for dinner, and to be honest, good pizza can be warmed up again and still be good. Bravo.

Hubby and I stopped here with family who were visiting. We had a coupon, and since we were in the area, this seemed like the perfect spot for a pizza and some beer. I wish I’d never seen the coupon for Luciano’s. To begin with, we waited at least 5 minutes before anyone greeted us. We were told to place our order and they would bring it to us in the back seating area. We ordered salad, a «half and half» order of wings, the Margherita pizza, sodas and beer. We waited another 15 minutes before the guy behind the counter figured out how to ring us up and use our coupon. We finally took our seats, drinks in hand, and hoped that the food would make up for the poor service. This would not happen. We waited another 15 minutes, still no food — not even the salad. Hubby went up to ask for our salad; they made the salad right then(really? they hadn’t even made the salad?) and gave it to him. It tasted fine, but then again it’s pretty hard to screw up a salad. We waited some more. Another 10 minutes, and then our order of wings arrived. But it was not the«half and half» order we asked for, only one type of sauce. Hubby went back up to the counter and asked for our other half. He was told that they don’t usually split the wings that way, but since we were told that they would, they agreed to make us another set of wings with the other sauce we requested. The wings we had already received were eaten, and they were deemed to be «meh». Another 10 minutes, and the pizza finally arrived. This was almost an hour after we placed our order! We were starving! I took a bite of the pizza, excited to finally eat something that should be tasty and worth the wait. I was sorely disappointed. The pizza was bland. I mean BLAND. Even the addition of parmesan and red pepper flakes could not resurrect this sad pie. It was awful. I couldn’t eat it. And still, our other half of wings had not arrived. I personally went to ask about the other half of our wing order. I was told they were coming out of the fryer right then, so I waited. The wings were handed to me, I sat down to eat them(still starving), broke one wing in half and found it to be RAW in the center. RAW. This was the last straw. I took our food up to the counter, spoke with the manager, and asked that he refund our money. The only good thing I can say about my experience at Luciano’s was that the manager willingly refunded my money without a fuss. He apologized and we left, still hungry, after spending an hour and a half there. I will not darken the door of this establishment again, and I advise any readers of this review to think twice before wasting your time and money.

Stopped by this place one day after work with a friend and was very pleasantly surprised! We each had a slice of pizza and shared two baskets of wings. I’m no wing connoisseur, but these were fantastic! Crispy and meaty, although one of the baskets had a little to much sauce. They were still super tasty. All that AND a beer for under 10 bucks is pretty darn good in my book. I’ll definitely be back!

The wings are good, but the pizza is «meh». After I ate the pizza, I got incredibly sick. I ordered a slice of Buffalo Chicken pizza and while it tasted fine at the time, my stomach did not agree. I have a feeling that the pizza was left out for some time and the employees didn’t throw it out after the chicken went bad. As far as employees are concerned, the people working when I went in were very condescending. I didn’t know if they had a back room to sit(which they did), and they balked at me when I asked. It was my first time in, and I couldn’t see from where I ordered. If you come here, order a fresh pizza and not a slice.

Holy crap, people either love or hate this place. In fairness, I’ve only been there once but I’m a fan. I freakin’ love their pizza. My boyfriend is from Buffalo and he thought it was awesome. The crust is perfect, nice & buttery. We got the Three Cheese Steak with spicy peppers and it was the best pizza I’ve had in years– definitely 5 stars. We live in Breckenridge and the pizza sucks here, so we made a trip in to eat before a Nuggets game. The wings were probably 4 stars, big and meaty, but not extra crispy like I’d asked for, that would’ve put them over the top. If I had to complain about something, I’d ask for a better beer selection. And yeah, the staff isn’t exactly perky and excited to see you or particularly fast, but so what? Pizza’s totally worth the wait.

My second time here. The place reminds me of Buffalo, NY. A friend of mine from high school showed us this place. He was spot on. Just like home. Large cheese/pep and double order of wings, med, extra crispy, w/BC. Ahhh, so fattening but so satisfying and comforting. When my girl and I are craving pizza and wings and home, this is where we’ll be going. Even if it is a 15 minute drive. Oh and about bs chicken wings, these could be called«Buffalo Wings» but to me hey are chicken wings, the way they’re supposed to be. This place is your best bet for the real thing instead of traveling to buffalo, ny. Cheers.

Does this place change their pizza every time I go? I feel like the pizza I had recently was different from the pizza I had a year ago while drinking on the Bar Standard patio was different than the pizza I had two years ago during the Westword music showcase. Sometimes I think it’s awful and other times it’s the greatest thing I put in my mouth(that’s what she said). The boyfriend and I ordered a delivery pizza Friday night(I’m the lame one who thought I lost my ID but really didn’t and was therefore demobilized on a Friday night) and it was of the super tasty variety. We got a plain cheese New York style. It was really cheesy and floppy and I scarfed down three pieces. The sauce is of the less fresh tasting, more pasty variety which I’m okay with, every now and then. The boyfriend tried their wings for the first time which he rated as «not bad». The ordering process appeared to be a bit of a nightmare though, as boyfriend repeated his phone number into the phone five times and verrrrrry slooooooowly. Nevertheless, the pizza arrived tasty and in the time promised. Not too bad!

I visited Luciano’s last night as part of a quest for the city’s best wings. Luciano’s seems to be the current«go-to» wing establishment for Unilocalers. First of all, we’re having a crazy cold-snap right now, so the fact that my wings were fairly tepid is likely a result of the extreme cold. Nonetheless, my wings were not hot, and my friend and I were the only two people there. I ordered a combo-deal: ten wings, a basket of fries, a Genesee Cream Ale(draught), a tiny little container of bleu cheese, and three kindergarten-sized celery sticks. The combo came to just under $ 10. The wings(drumsticks and wings) were nice and meaty, and while the sauce was tasty, there was barely enough to cover the wings. I want my wings drowning in a pool of spicy, red goo. Ambiance: boo. You walk in to an entrance area where you can place your order. There are some chairs for people waiting for take out. The other side of the establishment is the«seating area.» If you like sitting in a hallway decorated with… nothing, then this is your place! I assume the kitchen gets super-busy during sports events, but it seemed like they could take about half their kitchen, still have plenty of room for making wings and pizza(as far as I know, the only thing on the menu) and have a MUCH better dining area. Perhaps people only get take out from this place, but I assume it’s because the dining area is so incredibly boring. I don’t like getting wings for take out, because by the time you get them home, they’re cold. But I guess I didn’t really need to worry about that last night, as they were cold when I got them. The staff was friendly enough. There wasn’t much interaction(I ordered and paid, they brought the baskets out). I didn’t really have a whole lot of opportunity to chat them up. So, Luciano’s compared to the other wing places in Denver I’ve been so far? Above average, but that’s not saying much.

One word BUFFALO. If you are from Buffalo and miss home this is as close as you are going to get. Wings are hot and the pizza is thick. The service is meh…

You have got to be kidding me!!! I drove by this place the other day and decided I wanted to try their wings. So I looked up their menu on the web site and called in an order for 20 wings. The web site states that they are $ 14.75 and then when I called they said it was going to be $ 17.50. Based on this price change I declined to place the order. Then 5 minutes later some punk called me back to tell me how stupid I was for not ordering what they think are the best wings in the city! Who the F#$% do these guys think they are? Maybe if they called back to offer me some kind of compromise/apology(perhaps the price listed on the web site) to get me to try the place I would have gone… but now i wouldn’t darken their door if it was the last place on earth to eat!!!

The Superb: I was a big fan of their wings. The Average: The pizza is hit or miss. The most memorable pie we have had was the Fra Diavolo(I think that’s right) that may have been one of the hottest things I have ever eaten. Sweet jebus, just thinking about it is making my scalp sweat. Decent delivery time to downtown, and the price is quite normal for what you get. The Horrid: Nothing really. I think the problem with Lucianos is the fact that they don’t stand out when compared to some of the other offerings downtown, and therefore don’t get orders from us that much at all. OK, I can’t lie. We don’t even order from them anymore!

The food is good, and there is beer on tap an in bottles. If you just walk in, you should be fine. If you call, you will meet some of the worst, most unenthusiastic, lackadaisical and somewhat rude, curt and all-around unpleasant telephone operators you’ve ever imagined. For such a decent place, it’s run and staffed so, so, oh-so-very poorly. ATTENTIONLOVELYGAL with your septum pierced; you are Luciano’s one and only customer-service saving grace!

Wanting to give a new place a try, I decide to check out Luciano’s. When I popped in for a quick slice of pizza, I wasn’t impressed but I wasn’t disgusted either. Needing to find a place to deliver some pies for a work event, and they were incredibly close by, I decided to give them my trust. We decided to have them deliver to us but when they were supposed to be on their way, they called and said that they couldn’t find the credit card information. My boss had given her personal credit card but was in an important meeting. I asked them to double-check, but they couldn’t find it. I had to interrupt the meeting to ask for her card number again. She was incredibly displeased. Needless to say, no matter how good the pizza was(and it wasn’t), it couldn’t have made up for my embarrassment.

Ahh Luciano’s, you are the definition of bittersweet. We have such a complicated relationship. The ball and chain and me are Buffalo natives, so we take pizza very seriously. Denver seems to have a genetic inability to make pizza(seriously WTF Denver!). When we moved we looked for about a year, trying every place we could find. We eventually gave up and decided to live in depression and shame with frozen pizza purgatory. Until one fateful day where the name Luciano’s was whispered in our ears by the large New York transplant community. The story of Luciano’s is like our life. Some guy moved to Denver and realized how weird it was that in a city of that many people not a single person could make a pizza. So he went to Western New York copied down a recipie and got back on a plane to Denver, genius! So this is when our abusive relationship began. Like loving a wife-beater, we keep going back thinking maybe this time we won’t get hit. You see, the pizza is great. It is somewhat heavy on the sauce(we ask them to go light) and greasy, but for Denver, it’s perfection. While not true wing lovers, I have to agree that if you want chicken wings you have to order them here. The problem is, for delivery, you never know what you’re going to get, how much it is, when it will show up, and whether it will show up or not. We are frequent fliers and have about a 50% rate of getting what we wanted and when we want it. We go back becuase something(usually) does arrive at our door and most times its pizza. We might have to pick off some extra toppings or maybe make another meal becuase the delivery will take 6 hours(or come the next day). So if you can deal with those four minor things, you’ll enjoy the best pizza in Denver.
