The food was good; however combined with the extremely high price tag and mediocre service I most certainly wouldn’t recommend it. We waited for at least 20 minutes for our server on several occasions and paid $ 175. Additionally our server neglected to inform us of the desert options that we needed to order during the meal thus we couldn’t order what we wanted. Net net, go somewhere else where your expectations might be met.

Really how a steak should be done, I had the strip and she had the scallops both very flavorful and cooked right. The horseradish potatoes are one of my favorites among all steakhouses. Definitely lived up to the other Morton’s I’ve been to.

Mortons of Chicago is the best steakhouse I’ve ever ate at period… Anything on the menu is great, but I enjoy the aged steaks… Extensive wine selection along w/the best dessert, the Godiva chocolate cake w/liquid chocolate inside… You will not be disappointed.

If I could give zero stars to this restaurant, I probably would. We went into Morton’s for a late dinner after a night at the symphony. We walked in and after checking in our jackets we were seated in booth suitable for 4 – 6 people, only thing is there was just two of us. Waitress was great, being first timers she told us about different specials and such. We then ordered cocktails and several minutes later as she delivered the delicious bread, she said the cocktails were going to take longer than usual… ok. Approximately 10 minutes later, we get our cocktails. Cocktails were pretty good but definitely overpriced. As we browse through the menu, what jumps out of course is the very high prices but we knew it would be going in. We settled on the sea scallop special and 6 oz mix that comes with shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon. We decided since the sides were separate ad served family style on the Brussel sprouts with bacon and shallots. The waitress asked how I wanted my steak prepared and I responded with«medium well», her response was«ok a little pink» Approximately 20 minutes later, we were presented with our meals. The scallops were delicious but definitely over priced. The steak came out with both top and bottom blackened… I kid you not. Apparently at Morton’s «medium well» means burn to a crisp the outsides. Now the chef is definitely to blame but the fact the waitress brought over the plate with the black piece of steak is something I expect the waitress to address prior to her bringing it out. The plate also had 3 pieces of unseasoned shrimp and the bacon wrapped around the scallops were burnt… how do you mess up bacon??? All in all, won’t be returning ever to Morton’s, the place known for steaks… how sad.

I must say I was disappointed. I frequent steak houses and expect a different level of service. On this night, there was no line, no wait, except extremely slow service. The manager was gracious to come by and check on things, but the lack of attention to detail was disappointing at this price point. This was my second try with a consistent perspective.

I don’t know exactly where to start because this used to be one of my favorite places in Denver, before it was a «Laundry’s» restaurant. This review encompasses a series of bad experiences which has sworn me off Morton’s and any Laundry’s restaurants. If you are looking for a proper steak house in Denver look no further than Guard & Grace because they truly know what they are doing — rivaling my favorite spots in NYC. Sadly for Morton’s, the food has gone down hill and is mediocre at best for the high end steak house arena. Now back to the review: I hadn’t been back to Morton’s since this past September when I said, «why not give it another try» after the GM Joe and Assistant GM Alexis tried to make things right after a series of bad experiences and problems with Laundry’s Select Rewards Program. I foolishly joined Laundry’s Select Reward Program(which cost me $ 25) thinking my frequent patronage would earn me nice perks. Sadly, no. Somehow my account got lost in the system and I never got any rewards after spending a great deal of money. When I attempted to get my $ 25 back(membership fee), I’m told by GM Joe that he is unable to do it. When I talked to corporate I’m told only, GM Joe can do it. Assistant GM Alexis tried to assist me to no avail. This is a corporately owned restaurant where no one takes responsibility i.e. restaurant blames corporate while corporate blames restaurant in a stupid«blame game.» The moronic customer service rep at Laundry’s told me that even though they«own» Morton’s there is nothing they can do. When I asked to speak to someone with authority who represents the«ownership interest» of Morton’s, she laughed and said, the CEO of Laundry’s is not available… It would seem Laundry’s knows very little about high end dining and they really should stick to what they know, low cost/quality seafood restaurants. This would never happen at any of The Palm Restaurants! Unfortunately, Landry’s has also brought their downmarket expertise to Morton’s. There was a time when Morton’s was a great restaurant despite having a weak wine program. When I first became a regular, the food was excellent and it was usually Brad and Suzy and covering the bar area providing great service and a quality experience. Then there was Nick(with the impressive handle bar mustache) and the Nick after him crafting the cocktails and running the bar. I never had any issues with service at the bar area but the food quality(as of September, my last visit) has hit new lows that is fitting for a Laundry’s seafood restaurant but not for a Morton’s. The meat may be USDA Prime aged but I would venture to say that in order to save money Laundry’s picks up all the cuts that other top steak houses have passed on for quality reasons. When I’m paying a premium, I expect premium service, and premium quality. Life is too short to spend your hard earned dollars at a sub par restaurant. Eat well friends and avoid this steakhouse.

Cocktails in the bar for happy hour were amazing. The sides were good, the steak was good. Mostly enjoyed the bar and waiter.

Note: happy hour now ends at 630. They used to carry power hour prices on select drinks ALL night, which was nice, but apparently as of a month ago, they now don’t offer it anymore beyond the 630pm point. Also note, it’s apparently in the computer and can’t be honored after. We arrived at 633 and missed the special prices by 3 min asked for a favor but apparently they can’t override. Do I believe this? Hmmm… Will say the discounted bar bites are still available all evening and they remain delicious at a very fair price for streak bites and tuna tacos. Really like this place for the cozy bar… but liked it even better when we did not have to rush to hit the drink pricing deadline… It was one of the most civilized of Denver offerings.

I’m always a huge fan and a VIP at Morton’s. This location in particular I’m fond of. That said, it’s rarely to find a Morton’s completely off their game. But we did so last Friday(10⁄16). While the steaks were good the service was completely miserable. So much so we made comments to the people we’ve known for years who work and manage the place. Our server was such a waste of space it held up the entire process from dining to getting our food then getting our check I’ll chalk it up to a bad day but when a party of 2 drops over $ 350 for dinner you at least to be visited by your damn server once in a while. My 2 cents. Greg T.

Overall it was good here. Our waiter was nice and the posh manager was alright, too. We got the chicken for $ 29 each, and a plate of the mac and cheese(family-size) for $ 13. The mac and cheese was good and the chicken was good as well. Needless to say we got the cheapest item on the menu at around $ 29 and the steaks went up from there. The wine and cocktails(around $ 15 each) were expensive, but this is a steakhouse in the center of downtown, so no shock. We came here for a special occasion, and probably won’t go back since there are plenty of other upscale restaurants for special occasions nearby. BUT, if you ever find yourself in Shanghai, visit the Morton’s there, since they have 50RMB(around $ 8 in USD) martinis and free prime rib sandwich appetizers during happy hour, or at least they did when I lived in Shanghai in APR2014.

Food was amazing as all Morton’s food selection is, but this location was a bit small. I felt a little claustrophobic so I recommend you call 1 – 2 hours ahead of time to get a good table. The waiter we had was awesome! He was so helpful and went out of his way to serve us.

Had a great dinner in the bar. Ordered the Iceberg Wedge Bites (Bite-Sized Wedge Salads served with Tomato, Egg, Bacon Bits and Blue Cheese Dressing), Fresh Cut Potato Chips With Blue Cheese Dressing, and Filet Mignon Trio Sauce Au Poivre, Béarnaise and Blue Cheese Butter. The Bearnaise was definitely the winner. We had a wonderful evening.

I remember Morton’s in LA being better… It’s not that my experience was bad. My steak was cooked properly, and the service was friendly. It’s just that, with Capital Grille, and Ruth’s Chris closer to me, and more reasonable pricing, and better seasoned steaks, and better marbled steaks, I just don’t see myself ever coming back to Morton’s. Ever. It wasn’t bad… I really don’t know how to describe it… I wasn’t disappointed, but I wasn’t impressed… It really was just«Meh»

Somewhat Limited Menu Morton’s The Steakhouse has its roots in Illinois. Founded in 1978, Morton’s of Chicago was the birth child of Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch. I guess olé Arnie had a better surname than Klaus. Today, Morton’s has more than 70 steak restaurants in the U.S. and abroad. The ambiance at Morton’s The Steakhouse is a tad bipolar. The dark lighting and décor skew toward a mature audience, however the trendy, upbeat music leans more toward a Gen Y crowd. Atmosphere aside, the menu is somewhat limited, but the food is very good. The constricted cuisine ranges briefly from beef to fish, however there are plenty of options within that spectrum. I recently had the Center-Cut Filet Mignon. It was among the tenderest of cuts that I have ever eaten — very tasty, yet a bit over-seasoned. The pricing is very reasonable. All-in-all, Morton’s The Steakhouse is well worth your time and money. Enjoy!

I haven’t been to Morton’s in a long time. My husband received an email that they extended the 5280 week so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was pretty dead but it was a Monday night downtown. I love a deal so I ordered off the 5280 menu and was glad I did. The Ceasar salad was amazing. My filet with the Au Poivre was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. We ordered a side of the Au Gratin potatoes and they were good but not the best I have had at other steak houses. The Creamed Spinach was not very good so I could have skipped that side dish. The broccoli was just ok but it was an option on the 5280 week. My husband ordered off the regular menu and ordered the Sea Bass — it was more than my entire 3 course 5280 Week price. He was very disappointed with the fish– it had bones in it and for the price it was a small piece of fish and he didn’t really like it. The sauce on the fish was good. He loved my filet and wish he had ordered it instead. I came here because of the 5280 deal. When I want a high end steakhouse I always choose the Capital Grill. I also agree with the review about the pricey drinks– I had a $ 15 glass of Chandon and a glass of the Timberline Wine– expensive– my two glasses were more than my meal. I gave Morton’s 4 stars because I received great service and the 5280 deal was an incredible value however if I paid full price it would have been more like a 3 star review and the fact that my husband did not his fish and the creamed spinach was not good. He wrote a review to the restaurant because in this price range you expect the best. If you are a steakhouse then you should have a good creamed spinach. I am sorry but in my book if you are a steakhouse in Denver than you have to compete with the best. The best steakhouse in Denver in my opinion is the Capital Grille. I think our bill was $ 200 for both of us — so I was glad that I ordered off the Restaurant Week menu.

We went to Morton’s this past weekend for Denver Restaurant week. We like to try new steakhouses each year for this event, and were excited to try this one. They have a valet out front for $ 10 plus tip which is convenient. The restaurant is nice enough but dated(not in a good way). For the price of the food there, they should have a bit of a remodeling budget. We had a very nice server and the couple we were meeting who had arrived before us had a pleasant, if awkward, interaction with the manager of the restaurant. We ordered drinks, and mine was made incorrectly. They were very pricey as well, for the house level beverages. We ordered the filet item on the Restaurant Week menu and mashed potatoes. The steak was small, overcooked and just OK. This would have been fine at Lone Star, not at Morton’s. The potatoes were ok as well, nothing to write home about. We had key lime pie and crème brûlée for dessert and it was decent(nothing amazing). So $ 130 lighter in the wallet for two(when the cost per person is $ 30), we left very underwhelmed and hungry. While I understand that if we had of gone all out and spent a couple hundred a person we might have had a slightly different experience. But for us, the Denver Restaurant week gives us rare access to otherwise unattainable places to eat. It’s their opportunity to earn our loyalty or lose it: Morton’s lost it. I’d recommend you go to Simms, the Palm, Ruths Chris, Del Frisco’s, and maybe many others to have a better meal for less money. Heck, drive to Fort Collins and head to Sonny Lubick’s. That place is awesome for less money than probably any of the Denver steakhouses.

I struggled with the right rating for Morton’s, but I am going with 3 stars when you combine food, service, and misc to the rating. Food: 4 stars. There is no question that the food at Morton’s is top notch quality. The steaks are prepared perfectly and a few of their other dishes are outstanding, i.e. the Lobster Bisque. In other ways though, the food doesn’t wow you. The escargot looked like a Pillsbury dough concoction and the scallops were okay(though cooked perfectly). For the price, I want perfection all the way around. Service: The service started out phenomenal. We had a nice woman taking great care of us. However, the oddest thing happened, about midway through the dinner, she disappeared from our table. She still served the other tables around us, but then we got some other guy. He was okay, but non attentive and forgetful. The whole thing was odd. Again, considering the price, service should be outstanding and we shouldn’t be passed around! Misc — the only other thing that bothered me, which is not a big deal, is that the Valet for the restaurant costs $ 10. So you’re telling me, you don’t have enough margin in the $ 400 meal to cover my parking? Finally, this is a message to Denver — when you’re going to a restaurant like Morton’s, DRESSUP! It was pathetic to see people in t-shirts, beanies, and other crap clothing.

Just had a fabulous dinner at Morton’s this evening. My husband and I loved our meals, the cleanliness and timeliness of the meal and restaurant, and our server(believe his name was Matt) was excellent. I had the lamb, which was cooked perfectly. My husband had the filet with grilled shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops which were EXCELLENT. Scallops and filet were very tender with excellent flavor. We got a side of grilled asparagus, and the glaze they cooked with was phenomenal. We also enjoyed(I believe it was called this) a Palm Beach Passion martini that was DELICIOUS! Also, when we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess and General Manager, both who were very friendly. The GM had a great sense of humor, and also stopped by our meal to check on us; very personable! I’ve eaten at the Morton’s in San Diego(which was also phenomenal), and now at the Denver location. Loved both, and highly recommend both.
