Visited this location on 4 – 18 at 6:00 for a friend’s Birthday celebration. Arrived excited because I love Sullivan’s. I have been to the Leawood, KS location several times, Frisco Double Eagle a few times, but never this one. Sat down and I was a bit late, compared to the other 11 or 12 people. the good thing is that I am super familiar with the menu so I was ready to rock and roll. I ordered a Coors light, the wedge salad with bacon, and the burger with fries. I don’t know why I picked the burger, but I was just feeling it that night. I asked that it be cooked at medium temp. Beer comes promptly and the ball is rolling, everyone gets their appetizers/soups then the salads come. Everyone gets their salads but me. Not sure what the issue was, but I flagged the waitress(Tara) down and explained that I didn’t have my food. She was super nice and apologetic and went to the kitchen immediately and returned with my salad. Boy was it good. It was just what the doctor ordered. Onto the main course… they bring our food and then there was a long block of time(10 – 12 minutes from the time we got our food) that I didn’t even see the waitress. The reason that this is a problem is because, when I cut my burger in half I physically heard the knife sawing into the meat. I immediately took the bun and toppings off and this thing was charred over-well done. In some scenarios, I push past it and eat, but not when my meat is overcooked. Under-cooked, sure! But not overcooked. If the waitress was around, I would’ve simply asked her to have them prepare another patty the way I had originally requested, but since she wasn’t, I sat there while all of my friends ate. My friends realized what had happened and graciously started putting some of their food on my plate so I wasn’t the only one at the table not eating. By the time the waitress did come by I just explained the situation and asked her to take the plate back. At this point I would be starting my meal when everyone else is finishing. Not acceptable and we are all pretty bummed and frustrated. You know what? It happens so I am moving on right? WRONG… The bill comes and sure enough they had taken the burger off of my bill, but they charged me for 2 beers! In addition to charging me incorrectly, they charged my bill to a buddy of mine’s card and they charged his $ 146 tab to our other buddy!!! I mean at this point, I am pretty blown away! I have never been to a restaurant of this caliber and experienced the lack of organization and excellence that you should expect from a place in this category. You are paying for excellence and this Sullivan’s is a huge disappointment. Won’t be coming back here any time soon. You shouldn’t either.

Just left there. Decent food, decent service, but a principle issue to be addressed. We left, went right out the front door, realized we forgot our to-go food. I went right back in, I mean no more than 15 feet from the front door when we realized the mistake. Got back to our table, nothing had been moved, not an empty beer bottle or empty water glass, but the food was gone. Server had disappeared, along with our food. After watching the hostess fumble around looking for it, or him, I realized that she didn’t even have the good sense to get anyone to help, like a manager. Didn’t see one of those while we were there anyhow. Doesn’t matter how good the food is, you can’t fix bad management. Imagine how happy we would have been if we had been chased out the door with our food instead of having it disappear and no one really caring.

The first time I came here I brought my fiancé and the food was amazing. Couldn’t wait to go back for the Brussels sprouts(yes the Brussels sprouts!) and the lobster was awesome. This last time was kind of disappointing. The Brussels sprouts were not nearly as good. The Philly cheesesteak egg roll appetizer is definitely recommended though.

We went here last Saturday for restaurant week and had an 830 reservation. We arrived for our reservation at 815 and decided to wait in the bar until they texted us that our table is ready. At 9 pm we still hadn’t ‘t been called so we checked on the status of getting a table and were told that there were still 2 people ahead of us. We were finally seated at 910. When I voiced that waiting 40 minutes for a table when we had a reservation was excessive, the manager apologized and offer to pay for the drinks that were in our hands although we had already paid for them so we ended up ordering another round. Restaurant week was disappointing as a side dish was not included with meal so unless we wanted to have just the slab of meet on the plate, we had to spend extra for a side. We thought this was very misrepresenting. The filet mignon and the new York strip both tagged so so but were too seared and had terrible plate presentation. See photo that I will post of my plate, how it was presented. Restaurant week at this restaurant did not give us the feeling that we would ever return and pay regular prices as the service and food that we experienced at the discounted prices was not even a good value. For the prices paid here during restaurant week, we could have had a much better meal with a shorter wait at many nearby restaurants.

Absolutely delicious filet mignon and yummy cocktails! The women’s bathroom needed attention(no toilet paper in 2 stalls and another stopped up).

Ok. I don’t give it 4 stars for the Outdated décor that looks like a funeral parlour, nor the ambience. I give this a 4 star because the staff is freaken Fantastic, they ddin’t look or make me feel like«what”s wrong with this chick» when I asked for my Ice berg lettuce salad with a light or fat free dressing instead of blue cheese dressing and crumbles. Or even when I ask for just plain hot water and as well as warm water with no ice & Lastly my dessert to go. I know I sound…“whacked” because I am, but I’m on a strict health regimen to lose that winter coat a.k.a «Fat I gain aug-Dec.» So we decided to try this for 5280 week, just because it gave me incentive to go downtown, which I hate driving since I have to meet up with the hubby at his work. It’s a good thing we planned this dinner because I had a very Strenuous last 2 ½ hours and too preoccuped to even contemplate eating actual food, I knew I would be famished once I sat down to eat. —— Anyway here we go with the lowdown: — — Ice Berg Lettuce salad with Balsamic and I think a splash of olive oil dressing — It was really good and tasted fresh. I had: Salmon w/beur blanc– Absolutely Divine. It was a decent portion and too much for me ATM since appetite shrunk. But the top was crunchy and sooooo GOOOOD! It was cooked to perfection, which I can never get. Hubby had — NY strip– I tasted a tad bit and oooh it was delicous, which is something I would normally get if not for my current regimen. Side– Asparagus — it was simple and tasty, but a little or rather I like mine with a lot of Garlice and that would have been the icing on the cake for me. We both got the Key Lime pie — hub’s really liked it, I took mine home and froze it. So it sucks, I can’t currently shove down food and just be the glutinous over indulging girl I normally am, But maybe I’ll try it one more time. I thought I’d never been here before, which Is why I chose to go(hate going to a place I’ve been be4 on 5280) here, but I have eaten here before. IT was be4 I moved to Denver, and obviously it wasn’t memorable, or actually it was because I remember getting and being drunk on new years eve before we went out dancing. lol Any who — I guess I’d go here again, but only if someone else wanted to and I was feeling nice enough to agree or just desperately hungry. Sorry no pics herem because I was too dam tired from earlier and it wasnt anything people haven’t scene be4, plus it’s probably on the pic. section from another Unilocaler. Unilocal, Unilocal away. until the next 5280 place we go this? hmmm. no I think next week? oh hell I forgot the date,

I am in town visiting my daughter and decided to take her and her fiancé out for a celebratory dinner. When I lived in Denver, Sullivan’s was always my favorite restaurant so I was expecting a stellar experience. The first thing I noticed was that the table arraignment was new. No more round tables and a lot more of them. The restaurant was very noisy and that proved to be very difficult to hold a conversation. Our waitress was just ok. It took a very long time for her to notice my drink was empty and then an even longer time to actually receive my drink. I had to ask twice for a steak knife, my food was sitting in front of me and I was unable to eat my steak because the girl who brought our food ignored my first request for the knife. The topper was when the meal was finished and the check delivered, I handed her my valet ticket and asked if she would turn it into the valet. When we went outside, the valet said no waitress had turned in a ticket. I found all of this very untypical of when I frequented Sullivan’s when I lived local. My disappointment was with the service and not the food(although my mashed potatoes were a bit over salted). I felt like our waitress was new and it showed! In fact, she never introduced herself when she first approached our table. I didn’t learn her name until she brought the check because it was printed on the bill. Based on this dinning experience, when I’m back in town, I don’t think Sullivan’s will be my first choice first choice for dinning! Visited 1÷17÷2015

Pros: * Friendly & attentive wait-staff * Parking nearby($ 10+ at garage across street) * On-line reservation system available(I used it, it worked) Cons: * Very difficult environment to have conversation(close tables and loud environment) * Food over-priced for quality and taste * My filet was marbled with fat(only could eat 2/3rds), mashed potatoes were blah-tasting * My friend’s steak was so poor/fatty, he only ate half and took the rest home to his dog(not a good sign) * Hostess did not acknowledge us, and later just walked away. Some guy/employee walked-up later and asked if we had been helped(we had a reservation) and he sat us. I would not recommend this steakhouse.

When I go to a steakhouse I always compare to my favorite Capital Grille. Yep Capital Grille experience is always top notch and food is mouthwatering. My first impression — I went to the ladies room and the toliet was broken and did not flush. Not a great first impression. The restaurant was completely empty except for one other patron and they sat us in the booth next to him. OK but a little more privacy would have been better for us as we were on a date night. The Christmas music playing was a little loud and it made me want to leave. I asked for them to change it but the waiter said it drove him crazy too but they are not allowed to change it. Ugh! I swear I am not a Scrooge but on date night a little jazzy sexy music would have been better than obnoxious Sleigh Ride, Sleigh Ride. I ordered the $ 42 Prix Fixe menu– a great deal right now! The calamari was ok as a starter. My husband ordered the meatballs another ok dish. By now the music is wearing thin. Then live music from the bar is rocking in conjunction with the loud Christmas music. At this point I am thinking I need to just leave something I never do. The waiter comes back and I ask him to please turn off the music. They finally did and the night becomes more enjoyable. Thank you! The evening gets better as my waiter brings the shrimp lobster bisque — it’s wow! Yum Yum! Can’t even begin to worry about calories this may be the best I have tasted in the last 6 months. It’s the perfect blend of sherry, cream and chunky spoonfuls of lobster and shrimp. I would come back for this if I lived in Denver. My husband had the french onion soup(he did not order off the prix fixe menu) the soup looked perfect with cheese flowing over the crock. It was good but nothing would compare to my bisque. It was the highlight of the evening. For entrees I had the 60z. filet mignon– a perfect size. It was good just not Capital Grille good– however the prixe menu it less expensive at Sullivans. Like I said, every steakhouse gets compared to my favorite Capital Grill steakhouse. My husband had the filet mignon trio — 3 small filets with 3 different sauces. Mine was better:) I had at the peppercorn sauce. Another highlight was the brussel sprouts side. We were so happy we ordered them they are delicious with bacon crumbles and sprouts. No dessert we were too full and I prefer to have wine instead. It was a 3 star experience and I always love a date night in the city. If I come back to Sullivans — I would come back for the bisque and do my own dine around the city.

I was in Denver for Business and stopped by here the first night. I eventually dragged a bunch of co workers here the next night. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, the NY Strip Steak. I live in NYC area and have had my taste of high end steak houses. This place rates up there if not better. The first night I sat at the bar, bartender and servers were very friendly, stopping by to chat for a bit and were interested in your travels. The restaurant was the second night, very classy. Prepare to pay to the nose here but it is well worth it and a great place to go if you want to impress someone. Great wine collection and nice for those interested in a romantic dinner.

Let’s start with this is the sister restaurant to Del Friscos… I would have to say this sister is the less successful not quite as pretty step sister when compared to the other. As a stand alone is was good-ish. One of the bar waitresses was sub par and had a bad attitude. The hostesses were super friendly and helpful as we started in the bar and moved to the dining room. The other waitresses in the bar and dining room were awesome. Manager was very attentive as well. Had a Moscow mule and it was great. We ordered from the 3 course menu. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was good but really how can you screw that up. Hubs had the calamari… Seasoned with thai chili sauce. I’m Asian and to me this is like seasoning with ketchup or any other condiment. I would expect better than pouring premade sauce from a bottle over fried calamari from an upscale restaurant. Moving on to the next course we had a Caesar salad and«lobster and shrimp» bisque. The Caesar was way over dressed and I got a mouth full of dirt from the unwashed greens. The bisque was good but it was crab and not lobster… could have been made with shrimp stock but it was definitely not lobster. Main course we both had filets and they were cooked perfectly served with a horseradish mashed potato. The mash was thin and over salted, I did like the horseradish addition. We also had mac n cheese which was average and their sauteed brussel sprouts which were very tasty. Back to the sister restaurant thing, there is no comparison Del Frisco’s is a much better choice hands down. If in the area I would choose the Chop House or Mortons. Disappointed with the $ 150 spent. Ohh and the bathroom was disgusting. I did not take a pic but I should have. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because of the staff minus that one waitress in the bar. Live music in the bar was wonderful!

This is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite place to splurge on a nice meal. We have been coming here for 3 years now for special occasions. It is a place you can choose to dress up or down. There is a variety of different people there and the ambiance is great. You can choose a place that is more private or open to sit, there is also a large bar area and outdoor seating. In the best downtown area of Denver. And there is valet parking, which is nice! We made a reservation one year for my birthday and it was very busy so we had to wait regardless. However, they accommodated us with free drinks from the bar while we had to wait. The customer service is so great every time! Always friendly and one for compliments. We love to go when they are having special menus so we can get the most bang for our buck! My favorite item is the lamb chops. The best dish I have ever had! As well as their lobster bisque and salad options are always wonderful. Great place overall!

Sullivan’s is a great place for a nice evening out, especially if you are a fan of steak. I prefer the lobster! For me, what makes Sullivan’s stand out amongst similar establishments is the superb service. My server, Bernadette, was attentive and kind. She really make sure our dining experience was wonderful. Next time I go to Sullivan’s I will be sure to ask for her. Tip: make a reservation beforehand so you don’t need to wait. Also, try the Steakhouse martini!

I have been here twice for dinner(both times were for Restaurant week on a weekday), and both were very good in terms of quality, service, and value. Appetizer — wild mushroom soup was delicious. Entrée — have had both the filet mignon and the NY strip, and both were cooked as requested(medium rare) and seasoned perfectly. Portion sizes were both good, and there were minimal gristle on both. Sides — Mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, mushroom caps are all delicious. Not too salty, and portion sizes are ample. Dessert — the key lime pie was solid. Service was prompt, polite, and professional, and the wait times were very reasonable. The thing that stood out most on both occasions is that I was stuffed — the portion sizes are on the large side. The bar in the front of the restaurant is well-stocked with top-shelf selections(in particular, single malts).

I’d like to give this place 3 stars, but there service is great so the bump up to 4 stars. I made a reservation for a Tuesday night. My friend and I were running late and they accommodated us, which was great. When heading there 30 mins late, there were a total of 4 other guests in the dining room and a hand full at the bar. Regardless, the hostess was great and our server was awesome as well. I started off with a martini, YUM! Strong, good taste and delicious. I opted for the pre fix menu. I order the calamari(amazing taste, a little too much sauce for my taste, but a nice start to the meal), wedge salad(great portion, light a refreshing) and the sliced steak(I asked for medium rare, it looked medium if that, more almost medium well). My friend opted for the ribeye, potato and the creamed spinach. I tried the spinach(which was great). Overall, the food ok/good, service was great.

I’ve only ever been here for a drink and some apps, not always during happy hour but usually. For me, the place is pretty forgettable. Nothing interesting on the drink list. Apps are ok, though any app that has their chips in it is pretty tasty, but I usually forget about those once I leave. And they are never on the list when I find myself debating where to grab a drink when I’m in LoDo. They do have a great patio, awesome for people watching during Rockies season especially. And service has always been good. They do have a pretty good looking Prix Fixe menu for $ 39, but again, I’ve never actually had a meal here and won’t rely on other people’s experiences for my review. All in all, it’s A-OK.

Don’t get me wrong, the food here is good. I had a good steak and good salad and, well, actually, the philly cheesesteak eggrolls were fantastic. But I don’t think they should get away with charging the prices they do for their food here. It’s not THAT good. I’ve had better meals at Outback. There’s no way the meal I had was worth the $ 40 I paid. I had the $ 40 prix fixe meal, which included an appetizer, salad and 6 oz filet mignon(the perfect steak size for me). It tasted more like one of those crazy meal deals that the chain restaurants are always going on about in their commercials. Plus, for a high end place *in Denver* they had no draft beer and only two craft beer selections in a bottle. This might fly in another state, but this is a beer city. They have a decent menu of high priced cocktails and a nice wine list, but I drink neither. The only reason this place doesn’t get fewer stars is because the service was really good. Our server was very nice and attentive. If you’ve looking for a steak dinner in Denver, try the Capital Grill or somewhere else, this place isn’t worth the money you spend.

Ok, it was 5280 week, but… waiting over ½ hour for our reservation and then having dinner in an obviously overbooked restaurant was ridiculous. We’ve been Dining out this week for years and this was the worst. Didn’t get bread until after our starters as they ran out and had to bake more. 2:45 total time there which was fine but not our choice. Dessert was late out and mine came in a different glass than everyone else around us. That said, the food was good and our waiter was very attentive and apologetic.

I attended a private event in the Side Car at Sullivan’s, offering live piano music for the private party that night. First, I have to say the staff was extremely accommodating, friendly and very helpful as I had a few items to set up for the private party. They were very nice. Even the valet service was friendly, helpful and very willing to accommodate my unloading and loading of minor musical equipment. The service during the private party seemed very slow. I watched the guests dine on each course. There were long breaks in between each course serving. The food which my patron offered«to go» was delicious. Salad, salmon, potatoes, greens… all very good. The shrimp cocktail was great. The crab cakes were a bit lacking in flavor. All in all, my experience was wonderful. I can only hope I am able to perform on baby grand piano in their bar area sometime soon.

I love Del Frisco and I know Sullivan and Del Frisco is from the same parent company. But so not impressed with Sullivan’s. I don’t know if restaurant week is the reason to blame. When I first arrived, the front desk/hostess girl didn’t even acknowledge or greet we were there. Took her a good 5 mins to greet and check me into my reservations. Then on my reservations I requested a booth, even though I had reservations in advance they didn’t have a booth available. That’s fine no big deal. Again I blame restaurant week. The wild mushroom bisque was okay, was nothing great about it. I had to ask for lemon a few times before actually they actually brought lemon out. Once I received my wine, it felt like they never came back to check up on my table or to see if we needed anything. I watched servers checked on all the tables around is especially one next to me. Waited and waited for water, a girl walked by with a pitcher and did not refill my table. There were one server and I didn’t like her at all, she was helpful when I asked for recommendations. Then there was another server and she was friendlier, but she never checked back to my table. I would see that she checked with the table next to mines but couldn’t stop by to see if we needed anything else. I enjoyed my steak(although it wasn’t to die for but it wasn’t bad either), it was cooked to my liking. I liked the broccoli with garlic. The horse radish mashed potatoes was okay. I def can taste the horse radish. Still was waiting for some water. I tried the banana foster bread pudding(my first time having bread pudding) I thought it was good but since I’ve never had it before I didn’t know what to compare it to or what to expect. Also had the vanilla bean ice cream which I thought was simple but good. I would of liked this restaurant better if it wasn’t for the service. The food was good, the service however sucked. I want to like this restaurant since I like Del Frisco so much. So I’ll blame the service(for being slow and not-so-great on 5280 week). I might try it again when it’s not restaurant week and see if I change my mind about how I feel about Sullivan’s.
