What a fun night out! We live in the neighborhood and remember when this place was scary — I remember smoke & patrons bellowing out of the doors at 10am and I had no interest in trying it out for myself but thank god it’s under new ownership! This place is fabulous! My husband and I were on our way home, we’d had dinner and stopped for a beer and decided we didn’t want to go home quite yet so we stopped in to Mozarts check it out. We walked in, sat down and started to enjoy the scene. Not long after the pianist noticed us and had a lot of fun including us in his songs & chatting with us, it was a lot of fun. Our server was great too, Sherry I think – she was really attentive and even brought us a bowl of cheese puffs, I hadn’t had those in years! Yes, we noticed there didn’t appear to be other straight couples when we first arrived — but 1 or 2 came later. Either way, it was such a fun evening out. There should be more places like Mozart’s in Denver!!!

Before you come to the Mozart, make sure of a couple of things… First, you like to have fun. Second, you’re not an a-hole. Many of the patrons that frequent this bar are, well, not traditionalists. Ok, so as one of two worthy watering holes within stumbling distance of my front door, my gal and I liked this place right from the get go. On the weekends there is live music provided by a pianist, and the song list is a mix of classics that everyone knows and can sing along to, and show tunes. Cocktails are very reasonably priced, and the staff is exceptional. Very fun, very friendly. Not totally gay, but pretty gay. You’ll have a gay ol’ time. Ha. I’m a riot. I can’t really find anything to not like about this place. Even the things that

Came back on a Friday when there was live piano. It was a blast, good friends, nice crowd, Scotty was great of course. This place is definitely becoming a local favorite.

I sang Cabaret and executed high kicks while being accompanied by the choir director from my church on piano at Mozart Tavern/Lounge last weekend. My reverend, church secretary, and several other congregants were in attendance as well. Really, really didn’t think that visiting a bar on a Friday night with some girlfriends would warrant a church reunion. Especially after I had vodka in me. Right! So, the bar! Great set up. Very comfortable, and the service was on point. They had a side table with little hors d’oeuvres and soup that was free for the taking. They poured their drinks well. The crowd was lively without being loud. People were friendly — granted, one of the gentlemen who chose to insert himself into our conversation was less than talented with the doling out of compliments(ahem), but he tried. Oh, and the parking lot is directly next door and very well-lit. Important to note. The music was great(even when I wasn’t attempting to warble out showtunes) and I felt completely at home. I absolutely want to return soon and spend some more quality time with my girls. I could totally see this becoming a regular spot.

Let me preface this by saying that both the Mozart Tavern AND Mozart Lounge are the same place. Two different sets of reviews for the same place can be confusing. However, each are equally faboo. I came here tonight to hang out with my friend Robin. We both had a great time. The décor is beautiful, it’s sleek and sexy and sophisticated. Just like me! The Christmas tree is lovely, the music is inspiring and Scott … is the kind of person I elect to be around, feel happy to be around and not just«have» to be around. Awesome HH deals and great pours on those deals. This is super, but pales in comparison to just having a down to earth, fun, easy time with a friend. Scott is a gem of a man… thank you for your generosity. Scotty’s boss… you are darn lucky! Oh I can’t wait till Friday!!! good luck to you all, much prosperity… you deserve it!

This is definitely my favorite neighborhood bar in the Mayfair/Park Hill area. There are so many reasons why… but that it’s quirky and old fashioned(yes, both) are probably the top of the list. The décor is both different and welcoming, there’s a piano in the corner you’re encouraged to play as long as no one has spent money on the jukebox, and there’s a wonderful piano show every Friday night. The bartenders, Scott and Justin, are just fantastic. They dress up for work(starched white shirts and vests!) and take the time to get to know you well enough that they’ll offer up your favorite the next time you go in. It’s a welcoming«stray» bar, so if you can’t get along with everyone, don’t get in this sandbox. However, if you’re happy go lucky and enjoy meeting new people, it’s not clique-ish and you’ll make new friends every evening you’re in. Cheers!

Truth be told, I moved into my best friend’s guest bedroom at the beginning of the summer with the goals of having a stint of «outdoors, friends, beverages, outdoors, and beverages.» She lives in the Mayfair neighborhood, which is a little further than I’d like from the S. Broadway bars I love, so upon my arrival we set out on several adventures to find some spots within walking/biking/swerving distance of the house. Enter the Mozart Lounge. A newly remodeled and fabulous«Stray Bar»(the owners prefer this combo of «Straight» + «Gay»). Is it a cruise ship lounge? Is it a sparkly piano bar? Regardless, it was the most welcoming and fantastic experience. The pianists take requests! The seats are comfy! The bartenders wear vests! There are chips and salsa *and* watermelon to snack on! There’s a(Nagel-ish) pastel portrait of Mozart on the back wall! AND, the cherry on top of the Mozart sundae: After making friends with a bartender, I was offered a slot on Mondays to brush up on my rusty piano skills. Now, if I could only talk some of those S. Broadway drinkers to head west of Colorado Blvd…

It’s been a couple months, and so many other Unilocalers are enjoying this place I thought I’d try it again. The crowds are better, the staff is nicer, and there was live music — really good live music. Count me in to go back again.

are you kidding me! I used to walk around the block if I was going to even pass this place… NOW… This is the bee’s knees. FORREAL! This place got remarried, some intense plastic surgery, new wardrobe and some designer perfume! We walked in and took over! No one seemed to care. We sang and danced and drank. The piano player was super sweet and his adorable wife was sitting with us smiling and having a good time too! 10 min on credit cards… which is never a problem for me in a bar but I was trying to be good and not spill on my friends… so we got shots and let me tell you what… very strong and tasty! Our server was sooo nice! I had a great time and have nothing bad to say! I will be back… FORSURE!!!

Wasn’t sure how to start off this review. I guess hanging out with 8 lovely ladies softened the blow when I realized that they had taken me to a gay bar as I thought that we were going to a dive bar. hmm So was that the reason why I was the only guy left in the group? :o| When I got inside there was a guy singing and playing on a baby grand piano, cushy sofa like seats, great décor, smartly dressed servers, this was definitely not a dive bar. The girls took the vacant spot right in front of the piano on two large curved sofas and that’s when I started looking around and figured it out. No big deal though, our server was very friendly and was quick to bring out our drinks. Again I was on the beer but some of the girls were on mixed drinks and wine, even shots of tequila. The piano man was very entertaining singing some classics including Neil Diamond and seemed happy to have a bunch of rowdy girls for an audience: o) A couple of locals got up to sing some songs and I thought it was gonna turn into bad karaōke night but they were actually quite good. Back in Tampa all gay bars have the standard rainbow neon signs advertising the fact but here in Colorado they are less obvious. Nonetheless this was a fun place and as long as I had my female posse I would go back again: o) PS. if you check out their website they are clearly a gay bar but yes obviously straight people are more than welcome: o)

Talk about a face lift! If you ever went to Mozart’s when the space reeked of urine soaked Marlboros, then it is nothing short of shocking to have a drink here now. It is now clean and the people are too! What was once a clientele of mostly skeevy and criminally insane have moved on and it is now a piano bar filled with some really friendly people. Instead of being irritated by an invasion of women in various stages of drunkenness(and David!) the staff and patrons(gay and straight) were welcoming and actually encouraged our shenanigans. Scott was a great waiter and kept the drinks flowing. The piano player called us his«choir». Super fun! Look for a Happy Hour UYE here soon!

This is one of the funnest bars I have been to in a long time. The clientele is a hoot! The bartenders are funny and just plain awesome. Great place for a group event. Singing, dancing — it’s just good clean fun. Well, sort of :) Great setup for sitting cush around the piano, or sitting at a table with friends. The drinks are strong, so hold onto your seats. The piano man has jokes and has a great repoire with the customers. I will go back again and again.

When I walked into this bar with Mary Jo I had two warring feelings. Actually three. First, I wanted to play the piano. The good news? You can as long as a band is scheduled to be playing. What other bar do you know that lets you play their piano? Second I want to sit down in all the old-fashioned, plush-looking chairs and couches. They were vibrant green and red-ish hues and were very welcoming. This could be dangerous after too many drinks on a Saturday night. Thirdly, and the options we went with, I wanted to cozy up to the bar, stare into the giant fish tank, and talk to the bar mistress. And yes, in this place that lady is a mistress. I had a mimosa served in a martini glass, which made me like it even more. The champagne was on the sweet side, but I like sweet so that didn’t bother me. MJ had a Bloody Mary. Our drinks cost $ 8 and were stiff. I hear they’re planning a champagne brunch sometime in the next month or so. I guess you’ll all know where to find me when that happens…

The Mozart Tavern has never been what I call a neighborhood bar; I never went in because of the smoke pouring out the doors and what seemed like an iffy clientele. In just two short weeks this Tavern was transformed into a comfortable local establishment with a piano player on the weekends(and whoever wants to play at other times) and plans for champagne brunch. There are various seating arrangements, including sofas, the bar, and a community table. Groups can call ahead for parties and they even cater special occasions. Friday nights they offer free happy hour food and tonight it will be spaghetti and meatballs. No cheese cubes here!!! We are talking happy hour food. And the bartender and manager, Cheryl and Carol, are so nice and friendly; you can see the pride they have in their tavern. So about the other reviews calling this a gay bar, according to Carol everyone is welcome and hopefully we can all drink together and give peace a chance at our local Mozart Tavern. I hope so because Cheryl can really pour a great drink!!! And I love drinking at a place with a neon martini glass beckoning you into its doors.
