New Saigon Bakery & Deli

I’ve been going to this bakery for some time now and I’m happy to see how big it’s grown. The best Banh Mi in federal so far. They even have Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chops to go. The massive dessert case is also a great plus! Just make sure to go early in the morning. The restaurant next door by the same people is also wonderful.

Delicious sandwiches! I don’t know anything about Vietnamese food but it tastes damn good and the ingredients are high quality and fresh. Great value too!

They make their banh mi with the best French bread in Denver which they bake onsite. I was so impressed when I placed an order for several sandwiches to go, one being vegan, and they called me afterwards to make sure I knew the special sauce I ordered was not vegan. I knew from former Unilocal comments, but that was so considerate, above and beyond.

This bakery has all the yummy goodness for a sweet tooth in Asian snacks, mini desserts, preservatives, drinks and most importantly, yummy Viet sandwiches. Pâté does not accompany the sandwiches and is upon request.
I requested the pâté for the bánh mì nem nuong (grilled pork sausage) but not for the bánh mì xa xiu (BBQ pork). I was tempted to order a boba drink but I always know that when I’m hungry my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, therefore I abstained. However, the drinks are good and delicious and often considered a meal in themselves. I had forgotten how big the sandwiches are and was glad to leave with having ordered two and nothing else. I am hardly in the area but when I am I try to hit up the good eats.
The BF enjoyed his sandwich and I devoured mine. I hope to be back in the future soon.

My favorite place for banh mi and boba! The boba was so creamy and the boba pearl to drink ratio is always perfect. The banh mi is always delicious with the perfect blend of spices and sauces. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They’ve really mastered the sandwich.
The bakery feel of the restaurant is also very enjoyable. I like looking at all of the sweets and goodies while I’m waiting for my food.

So here’s the deal: I spent about 5 months in Southeast Asia last year chasing as much food as my face could handle, and my month in Vietnam was without a doubt the most inspiring and delicious of my travels.
I spent a solid month there soaking up phở in the side alleyways of Hanoi, following my nose through the winding streets of the Old Quarter, chasing chickens in Phong Nha, blindly navigating the menus in Hoi An, and biking through countless dirt roads in tiny villages in search of as much deliciousness as I could find.
And here’s the thing: after ALL that, the only place that even comes close to comparing to the Bahn Mi and New Saigon was Ms. Phuongs in Hoi An… the one Anthony Bourdain claimed to be the Best In The World. Seriously folks. It’s really. That. Good.
I live about 8 blocks away from this place now. Destiny? Perhaps. Perfection? Practically. I’ve been coming here twice a week for the past 6 months since I moved here. The owners John and Tu are truly wonderful people. The Vietnamese coffee is top notch; their French Coffee Boba is even better.
Bahn Mi are only $ 4.50, and you can add extra meat for 50 cents. 50 CENTS! Get the #6 #13 or #15 and take solace in the fact that you’re eating one of the best Bahn Mis in the world for less than the price of a goddamn Big Mac. They could legit double the price and I’d still eat em just as often. Try it, and tell em Matt says hi :)

I held off on writing this review because I wanted to sit down and really take the time to write a thorough review. Honestly, though, I’m not sure a novel is really necessary. Here’s what you need to know:
1. The sandwiches are incredible, and they come on the best damn baguettes I’ve had outside of France. They’re cheap as heck, packed full of flavor, and absolutely HUGE.
2. The baked goods are to-​die-​for. If you can, try the crêpe cake. They’re just as tasty as they are beautiful.
That’s all. Next time you can’t decide where to go for lunch, go to New Saigon Bakery and spend very little for a delicious meal.

I have finally joined the Banh Mi generation. I took JT’s advice and ordered the number one, and closed my eyes and kept telling myself, «you don’t care what’s in it, you don’t care what’s in it» and just ate. It was DELICIOUS. My husband got the grilled beef one, and it, too, was excellent. Even though I’m not much of a raw veggie eater, I really apprecated the pickled veg on the sandwich. They add texture and flavor that are integral to the deliciousness of the overall sandwich. I did leave off the cucumber, though, because that’s my one food I just CANNOT tolerate. The daikon, carrot, and jalapeño (nowhere near as hot as I thought) were great, and the cilantro was fresh and delightful. I can’t wait to go back and try the pork belly. I also had one of their dreamy coconut boba drinks, and that boba was so fresh, it made me smile every time I got to chew through one. I picked up a slice of chocolate cake to take back to the office, and a coworker and I just got finished devouring it and moaning. I’m sure the rest of the office averted their eyes in hopes they wouldn’t catch sight of anything scandalous in our little cubicle corner. Oh, and the best part of this whole thing? 4 dollars. For a huge sandwich. FOUR. Go get yours.

After my friend intro-​ed me to this spot last week, can’t get the banh mis and all the other baked goodies out of my head!
Bakery and deli run by a husband wife duo I think? Perhaps just generally family run? I was immediately warmed by the idea that this was a family biz, the couple also have the most adorable newborn. Find all the Vietnamese goodies of your dreams in this bakery/​deli. A wide variety of the banh mis, drinks, pastries, you’re bound to find something to satisfy your craving. I typically opt for the pig innards banh mi, crusty baguette, generous portions of pig innards (really taste better than it sounds), tangy pickled veggies, the perfect lunchtime sandwich. I’m also obsessed with the coconut jellos they offer. A refreshing gelatinous dessert in a coconut, scrape some coconut meat off the sides as you take a spoonful of the jello.
Great products, great people, think of this as your aunt’s/family member’s bakery, if you so happen to be Vietnamese. If I find myself around Federal Blvd, will definitely stop by to pick up a couple extra sandwiches for the week.

Yes, it is here at New Saigon Bakery and Deli. And yes, 5 star bakery… you can get your wedding cake here too!!! The baker/​pastry chef has to be Michelin rated with some of their creations? Top quality and perfection!
Almost every week it seems they have a different hot or cold dish! Make sure to scan the hot and cold bar for amazing dishes. Pork chops, viet style, some kind of fried banana with coconut milk, cold dishes with lots of veggies Recently, I found a puff pastry with a viet meatball inside. Peppery goodness…
You need to take risk here and try new things!!! This family business is taking a risk being here and they are doing it with tremendous success; serving food with the highest quality.
With fresh squeezed sugar cane juice, unique hot and cold dishes and some of the best sandwich’s in the world, this place will surprise you every time with something new, IF you take the chance on something new… hahaha, ENJOY!!!

I’ve been hitting this spot since they opened and for some reason have never written a review. Well, after being asked a few times where to get the best banh mi in town… (even though my sentimental fav is Vinh Xuong Bakery that i’ve been eating at for about 25 years!!) I gotta say New Saigon rules. So many combinations available with ingredients you aren’t gonna get anywhere else and the bread is very close to Vinh Xuong’s (which is still my favorite Vietnamese roll bakery). The grilled pork banh mi is my current fav but one of these days i’ll grow a set large enough to try sardines which i’ve heard is the most popular meat for Vietnamese? It do get crazy busy up in there though so hit the off times or prepare yourself for a little «chase the space» in the tight parking lot.

Best banh mi in Denver… No question. The bread is impeccably crispy and fresh. I personally like to order all my sandwiches with extra pickled veggies and jalapeños. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Come here to satisfy your banh mi cravings, leave with a full belly and bag of spring rolls.

Best sandwich I’ve ever had! The meat is marinated flavored to perfection and the jalapeños give it that spicy kick. The prices are inexpensive! A little over $ 4 for a foot long very filling sandwich. I’ll be a frequent visitor.

Amazing Vietnamese bakery and deli! The BEST banh mi sandwiches in town! I personally go for the grilled beef or pork; since I don’t do pickled stuff well, I ask for veggies on the side (didn’t even know this was possible till a friend told me).
They also have a variety of Vietnamese bakery items– one of my favorites is the banh da lon, a steamed, Vietnamese layer cake flavored with pandan and tapioca. Ask for a fresh pandan waffle– it’s only $ 1.25 and will definitely make you happy! The coconut taste is best fresh and warm.

We’ve been here a couple of times now for banh mi, sweet desserts and other Vietnamese deli items. They offer a wide assortment of pre-​made foods that look pretty fresh.
You can buy plain baguettes for $ 0.75 each.
There are several display cases with fancy cakes and bakery items prominently positioned throughout the store. Not Ace of Cakes fancy but enough to impress at an office function or dinner party.

Happy to find Little Saigon on our way out of Denver into Vail. We’re here visiting from Portland, Oregon the land of cheap delicious eats and cheap awesome booze… So traveling elsewhere is lots of time a disappointment to our bellies and wallets.
We knew Vail would be overpriced for everything so looked on Unilocal what was good in little Saigon. This place popped up and was one of the only places open earlier in the am.
It smelled like heaven walking in. The food was visually delicious looking.
I ordered a nem banh mi and the bf did a meat rice plate. We both got Vietnamese coffees and some snacks for the road. The food was good, but it was pretty pricey for Vietnamese food. We’re used to 3.50 banh mi’s and 2.95 Vietnamese coffees. The food was tasty but again a bit too pricey for my liking since we are so accustomed to quality food for a lower dollar figure.
Their restaurant food looked really delicious. Looked liked they served huge massive portions so wouldn’t mind coming back and trying it.

WOW. I feel like I’ve been kept in the dark about this amazing Vietnamese deli. I can’t believe I’ve never been here before. It is worth every 5 star review it gets. The sandwich was $ 4 (price going up to $ 4.50 next month) so I had low expectations, even Subway charges more than that… but I was very wrong.
The sandwich exceeded my expectations for flavor, bread, and size. This thing was huge! I could only eat half in one sitting. That may have had something to do with the amount of boba that I also had ingested at lunch today. I just can’t pass up a place that offers green tea boba. The boba is the same price as the sandwiches so you can get a full lunch for under $ 10. The freshness of the cucumber and jalapenos and the flavorfulness of the meat paired with the fresh baked baguette that it’s served on is perfect.
Anyways, stop reading this and go grab a sandwich on your next lunch break.

I had been craving a good vegetarian Banh Mi for a few months now, but the restaurant I used to go to closed down sometime late last year. After clicking through pages and pages of Unilocal listings, I finally decided to make my way to this little bakery.
Lo and behold, they had a vegetarian Banh Mi with imitation meat! But, I have to say, the imitation meat freaked me out a bit because it looked like real meat. Other than that, I felt as though I got a good amount of food (two meals worth) for the price I paid ($ 4). I do have to admit, though, the baguette didn’t taste very fresh. It was on the chewier side (probably because I went 30 minutes before closing).
I took my sister the next day and she had the grilled chicken Banh Mi and thoroughly enjoyed it. She said that the baguette was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the chicken was flavorful, but the jalapeños were a bit much at times. Still, the sandwich was reported to be overall very tasty!
The wait for the sandwiches weren’t too bad — somewhere between 5 – 10 minutes for each.
I’ll be back, but I think I’ll get a Banh Mi with just vegetables next time.

Oh hot damn!!! I can’t believe I’m saying this. But New Saigon had the best banh mi I ever tasted. And I’ve had banh mi all over CA and even in Vietnam and I haven’t had something soooo tasty as the one I got here.
Ordered the banh mi dac biet. (special with all the good meats, ham, cha, pâté, headcheese) and it was like a party in my mouth and all the flavors were invited (sorry, stole that line from iron chef!). I think there was an extra meat in my banh mi (from the usually dac biet), perhaps pork belly.

This is probably the most authentic Vietnamese bakery I have been to in Denver. It’s like I teleported to a smaller vans bakery back in California:) they have so many different banh mi which is a delicious viet/​French fushion sandwich. In between the fresh, crispy, and warm French baguette, you can pick your meat and it comes with veggies. The best part is that it’s spicy! I love it. I didn’t get to try the banh mi this visit but I sure will next time!
This time I came for dessert! This is my first time trying the three color drink which is a famous viet dessert. It has mung bean, red bean, green pandan jelly, and delicious and rich coconut milk. I absolutely adored it! If it’s too rich for you, you can add some milk or soy milk and it still tastes fantastic and you get double the amount of drink hahaha. I also got a fresh pandan waffle. I have only tried these at the street vendors in Oakland so I was really excited they had them. It was a bit too crispy but was as delicious as I remembered them to be:) I’m excited to go back and get the banh mi and all these yummy desserts again!
