Second visit to Sanctuary Home. Mom is visiting from out of town, she couldn’t remember the name of this place but remarked on what we bought the last time and I knew she was talking about Sanctuary Home.
We walked in and were pleasantly greeted by the same wonderful man from last time. Very warm and inviting, someone you could talk to for hours honestly.
Sanctuary Home has a variety of furnishings, frames, books, unique glasses, artwork, jewelry and more. Everything is truly unique and one of the kind. Really the kind of store up my alley.
We spent a great deal of time looking in the jewelry cases at Colorado designers with elegant designs and pieces that you would not see any were else. I ended up getting a wonderful peridot ring with a wavy band that I believe is a work of art. Absolutely outstanding quality. Mom got a gorgeous pendent that looks like a curl or maybe a piece or coral — unique only to her now. She also got a cashmere scarf for a steal and an impressive glass ball to hang on her tree.
If you are shopping local (as you should) and searching for unique pieces that will be conversation starters and/​or accentuate your already fabulous looks please take a look around this store. You come here and you get quality.
Price need not be mentioned when talking about quality like this.

Last week I was on Platte street to go to Rejuvanest and while trying to find parking, ended up parking rig next to Denver Beer Company. Sanctuary was nearby and as I was browsing down the street, I decided to stop in. I’d never heard of this store before and I was pleasantly surprised.
This home store had lots of eclectic items, including wallets, purses, cards, a few books (for cocktails, recipes, etc.), bar items, pottery, jewelry and dinnerware. These are not standard run-​of-​the-​mill items that you can find at Pier 1 or other retailers and I enjoyed the uniqueness Some of the items are a bit pricey, but there’s something for everyone’s price point.
I was honestly just browsing and then remembered I needed a birthday card for a friend and thought that was all I would purchase. As I was browsing, I saw a great book of cocktail recipes, and as my bf has bee very experimental in the drinks category of late, I decided to step outside of my box and pick up the book for him as a Christmas gift and then I saw the Christmas decorations.
There were several ornaments that were on sale, 50% off, if I recall. I then remembered I had an ornament exchange party to go to the following week and voila, I bought an ornament, okay, really, it was two. I can’t be the only person who is out shopping for others and ends up buying something for myself, as well, can I?
The owner was very friendly and offered to wrap up both gift items, at no additional charge, I might add. It was my first time in, quite by accident, but I will definitely stop in when I’m in the neighborhood. It’s such a cute little shop.

Seemed like a cute store but they were very rude in there. Will not return.

This place has a unique collection of items. It is a small store, so they do not have any couches, sectionals, chairs, etc. However, they do carry some unique items to furnish your apartment or home.
Prices aren’t high either.

I used to live down the road from here and would pop in from time to time. It has a good selection of fabrics for upholstery, and good hours. It has a small selection, boutique-​like of extra home décor items, from glassware to stationary. It also has a very small selection of accent table and coffee tables.
I would like to see a bit more variety, but other than that, it has some different pieces and somewhat different selection.

i’ve been shopping at sanctuary home since it opened several years ago. it’s my go-​to place for special gifts. wade is amazing — friendly and knowledgeable — the kind of shopkeeper who seems to be from a different era (even though he is young and hip). little things like remembering my name and treating me like an old friend, even though i’m old enough to be his mother, maybe even grandmother, make shopping a pleasure. the range and quality of items is fantastic. this holiday season i am shopping only at locally owned stores, and sanctuary home was my first stop.

I was shocked to read the review written by another Unilocaler I’m not allowed to name who, in light of this Unilocaler’s recommendation of a national chain store which hocks common items found all across the country over a carefully cultivated boutique of unique and largely hand-​crafted items, IN MY OPINION cannot be considered an expert when it comes to good design. As an interior designer and enthusiast, I absolutely have the credentials to state this.
Sanctuary Home is one of the most unique shops in all of Colorado, differing from other home boutiques in that it carries the unexpected instead of a rehashing of what you’ll easily find elsewhere. I have spent a great deal of money tastefully furnishing my home and pride myself on the unique items which decorate it, several of which I am pleased to say come from this wonderful design mecca. Each time I have a guest in my gates it is not the few pieces I own which come from larger chain stores and, though beautiful, are largely not unique that my guest notices and compliments — no, instead it is consistently the pieces I own which I purchased at Sanctuary Home they rave about!
I have never seen such an eye for excellent and sound decorum as is possessed by the shop’s buyer, and the quality of the items and hand-​made pieces in the store are quite remarkable. Compare that with Z Gallerie, a purveyor of arguably eye-​catching but cheaply made offerings and print art whose selections are a dime a dozen — in that case, simply more of these items to choose from is certainly not best. Sanctuary Home proves this by showing its customers that less can be more, helping customers to make bold and dramatic statements every time.
The Unilocaler I’m not allowed to name complains about «mark up» and, USING HATE SPEECH, describes the shop’s inventory as «excelling in tackiness,» failing to comment on the fact that a good deal of the shop’s inventory is either hand-​made or imported which of course increases the prices. Even so, while several of the major pieces offered in Sanctuary Home are toward the higher end of the scale, they are not the lofty prices of stores like Design Within Reach, and I would insist that something beautiful can easily be found within Sanctuary Home’s walls that would fit neatly into most budgets. The quality customers receive for their dollars at Sanctuary Home makes these adornments real investments, items which will highlight and enrich their personal space for a long time to come. I will definitely agree with the review of this Unilocaler which I am not allowed to name in that people who are extremely limited by financial constraints should not attempt to shop in this marvelous store, but then, such people probably aren’t considering shopping in stores like Sanctuary Home anyhow.
The review of the Unilocaler I’m not allowed to name favors chain stores over this boutique (QUOTE: «you should check out Z Gallerie downtown on Larmie Square: the goods there are pricey, yet tasteful and interesting with about 10x more the selection» because they offer a greater number of mass-​produced goods and which, because these goods are not hand-​made, can be sold for less. In response, I will argue If you want your home to look like everyone else’s, unimaginatively copying item for item out of the catalogs that come in your mail, then don’t bother shopping here as you won’t be able to appreciate the exquisiteness of Sanctuary Home’s inventory. I am proud to recommend Sanctuary Home to those who appreciate uniqueness and quality — you will most certainly not be disappointed.
In closing, I wish to point out that this review contains NO slander or defamation of anyone’s character, NOR does it contain «lewdness, hate speech and other displays of bigotry» as defined by the Unilocal Review Guidelines’ definition of a ‘Personal Attack.’ Further, this review is only a statement about MY OPINION, the sharing of which is the sole purpose of this website.

One sweep through this store and you can tell that the owner, Wade, spends a great deal of time trying to source unique items to offer the cultivated Denver shopper. The store offers a wide range of merchandise like handbags, wallets, jewelry, home décor, children’s books and toys, and much more.
Most of the items here are not mass-​produced schlock offered at many other local boutiques, but leans toward artisan made wares. Even many of his greeting cards are hand made.
One of the best things about Sanctuary Home is the amazing selection of upholstery, which Wade deftly applies to any furniture piece to make it a one-​of-​a-​kind showpiece.
During the holidays you can be sure to find the greatest selection of unique decorations. Also check out the store for first Friday events.
I sternly disagree with one of the other reviewers that slanders this store by using words like «tackiness» and «mark ups». If you want to make your home look like most of the other homes in your neighborhood, then Z Gallerie (or any of those other national chain stores) is probably for you. If you want to create an original environment with pieces of real interest, then get to Sanctuary Home.

So if you have any sense of taste or of the limiting factor of money, avoid this place altogether; not only does Sanctuary homes excel in tackiness, it also excels in marking-​up, so forget it.
Still, this store was found in the nice loft neighborhood so perhaps then price is not such an issue. Nonetheless, if this is the case, you should check out Z Gallerie downtown on Larmie Square: the goods there are pricey, yet tasteful and interesting, with about 10x more the selection.
So there we have it, you just got burned S. H. Sit down.

Sanctuary Home is a chi-​chi shop where you can order custom upholstery for your furniture. I thought that the stunning retro chair (of brown and blue, mod colors) was going to be $ 5,000 and almost passed out when I saw it was a very reasonable $ 900.
They have funny, beautiful cards and stationery, wrapping paper, vases, soaps, and other female cosmetics.
It’s a place to pop in for a gift or to seriously consider when it comes time to redecorating the home. It’s tiny but it’s filled with colorful, lovely baubles that would delight any of my friends… no doubt.
