Scout Cleaning

I had Scout Cleaning come to my 450 sq ft apartment back in May of this year (2013) and I thought they did a pretty good job. They were 2 hours later than the window they gave me, and the women who called me didn’t speak English so it was hard to understand why they were so late, but the cleaning was somewhat adequate. SOOO, I recommended them to my neighbor, who also lives in a 450 sq ft apartment, because they were reasonably priced.
She asked for the same cleaners and the same thing I got, which I paid $ 75 for, but she was charged $ 125, and the bill said it took them over 4 hours to clean her place. That is ridiculous. I also saw her place, and what they did in no way could be considered clean or a job well done, especially if they supposedly took 4 hours to clean it.
I was SO embarrassed that I recommended this cleaning service to her. She did get them to bring the bill down, but the fact remains that they tried to charge her $ 125 and 4 hours of cleaning for a 450 square foot apartment! Her place is not super dirty, nor did they clean anything special that would take more time, like the fridge or closests. And the fact that she had to fight them to bring the bill down is not acceptable. Overall I am very, very disappointed with this company. They have lost 2 customers. I also have lost creditability and I do not appreciate that. DON’T USE THEM.

The ladies from Scout Cleaning came by yesterday and did a fantastic job cleaning my house. They were professional, courteous and fast! I will definitely use this company again.

I’ve used Scout Cleaning twice now and have been extremely happy with them both times. They were on time, speedy and thorough. I’ll use them again, hopefully, next month!

I purchased the Living Social deal in order to save money, but I feel like I wasted every penny. We had 3 people show up to clean. They didn’t even stay for an hour and didn’t do much of any actual cleaning. My husband and I did all the work ourselves after they left. Will NEVER use them again. I even e-​mailed Scout Cleaning and gave them an opportunity to make things right. I never even got a response. It’s one thing to have a cleaning crew do a poor job. It’s even worse to completely ingnore a customer.

Horrible, horrible service in general. I purchased a Living Social deal and was excited to have my upstiars of a small Denver bungalow cleaned, after 2 hours of service my house was not even clean. One cleaner was on her phone the whole time and the other supervising. I have had cleaning services in before and 2 hours for my small space is plenty of time for a thorough cleaning. They didnt move items on my countertops, didnt wipe down dresser tops, streaks on fridge, carpets were still dirty, floors had hair on it… extra. When I addressed the matter with the owner, Tobi, I was told the Living Social coupon is «treated differently». He didnt offer to come look at the mess or look at the size of my house, or even send someone out immediately to rectify the situation. Poor business management. Would never use again, never recommend, or only give a bad review.

I was excited to purchase the LivingSocial deal for Scout Cleaning; I am looking for a house cleaner and it was a great way to try one out before signing up for regular service. I knew there would be two people each working for two hours; great! I met them at my home and ran through a priority list – sweep/​mop floors, dust wooden blinds, and clean the powder room on the main floor. Upstairs, I told them to forget about two of the rooms and just dust the other two rooms and clean the bathroom – all of it seemed reasonable to them. I have an old house, and the rooms are very small. Before I left, I made sure they had my cell phone number so they could call with any questions.
Unfortunately, my mistake was trusting them to do their work without my policing them. When I came home, the main floor looked great. but upstairs had not been touched, nor did I receive a phone call about it. It would be impossible for two people to each spend two hours mopping and dusting the first floor of my home – less than 800 sq. ft? Either they are extremely inefficient, or they left early. And if they had simply run out of time, I think a phone call letting the customer know they weren’t able to finish what we had discussed would be a good business practice.
It took two messages left with the owner to get a call back, and he was unwilling to have someone return and finish the job, nor did he agree that a phone call would have helped things. I am disappointed in this business and its customer service, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they plan on being present and watching over the cleaners, which pretty much defeats the purpose of having your home cleaned, doesn’t it?

Got this service through a coupon offer on LivingSocial’s web site. Big mistake.
First, they didn’t arrive on the day they said they would. Then, the Scout cleaner spent a little more than four hours but didn’t sweep or vaccuum 80 percent of the house (which is modest in size). She worked at a snail’s pace, spending far too long cleaning two tiny bathrooms and the kitchen burners. She left the sink a mess.
Worst of all, we tried numerous times to contact them about our complaints and even sent photos of the slipshod cleaning and never heard back.
That is the epitome of unprofessional behavior.
You have been warned.

I purchase the special of $ 49 cleaning. This was in a vacant home. No one there at the time of cleaning. Very pleased with the job and would recommend this company.

I got this cleaning service through a coupon site — 4 hours for $ 39. Maybe that’s why they did such a poor job. Two people for two hours basically cleaned the kitchen (specifically the double self-​cleaning oven… but didn’t even sweep or mop the hardwood floors) and the bathrooms (they did a great job on the showers.) They did not vacuum 95% of the house. They dusted a couple areas and then said it was time to leave 20 minutes short of the 2 hours! I reguested that they at least stay the full 2 hours a dust a little bit on the 2^nd floor. Called to discuss this with the manager and was never called back. Called again and spoke with Toby who said thank you for letting me know but made no offer to correct the issue. Overall there were 4 rooms in my average size home that didn’t even get touched.

Getting your house cleaned is probably the easiest thing to rate, if it is clean, five stars, if it is not, one…
I was not that impressed with Scout Cleaning. I purchased a groupon for a $ 50 four hour cleaning service, great for me as I am always traveling. Well, the fine print really states that two people come and each spend two hours each cleaning so they’re really only there for two hours. I was home while they cleaned and one woman spent the majority of the time cleaning while the other just sort of bossed her around.
When they asked if I was happy with the job and if there was anything they should fix before they left I had to ask them to redo the entire kitchen and the bathroom, which had to be done in 7 minutes since their time was almost up and the manager was on the phone telling them to get out.
I wiped my hand over my wood floor, dust and crap… I ran a piece of toilet paper over the toilet bowl, it was NOT clean… I took my finger over the counter, stains still there… needless to say I wonder what they were doing the entire time besides making a lot of noise with the oven and microwave.
I will say that the women were extremely nice but that does not excuse the lack of clean surfaces that they walked away from.
I will most likely be sticking to a different cleaning company, or just doing it myself from now on.

The owner of Scout contacted me after this review and offered a discount for our next cleaning for the icebox incident. Totally appreciated it– and understandably every business learns as it grows. It’s always a great sign that a business is willing to adjust to feedback. It also was nice that I got a personal phone call, because I’m sure it was an awkward bridge to cross.
I didn’t mention before, Scout does send a monthly email with a survey, so they are definitely customer-​oriented.
All in all, I would recommend Scout (for the environment, and for a clean home).

After realizing that my best efforts to clean my apartment just weren’t cutting it, my boyfriend and I decided that we needed to call in some professionals to give me some assistance. Scout Cleaning is the preferred cleaning vendor for my Ballpark neighborhood building, so we gave them a call. They first sent out one of their managers to take a look at our unit and to tell us more about their service. While it was slightly awkward to have someone come assess your level of cleanliness and make what basically amounts to a house call, I felt comfortable enough with the pitch to set up my appointment for a few days later.
Stephanie and Cameron came out this morning to do the all important «first clean» of our apartment. (The first clean is slightly more expensive then successive cleans.) They were both very pleasant and did a great job on our apartment. They finished our 1000 sq. ft. unit in about 2.5 hours and did a far better job than I could have done in 2.5 days.
I will definitely be booking future cleaning appointments with Scout.
