Our food was AMAZING, the staff was so sweet and it is a cute little café with outside seating which was so nice on a summer morning. Very pleased and would highly recommend!

I love Spices. A very intimate place with classical music always playing through the speakers. A nice relaxing way to start you day. Inside or out on their patio, spices is a great place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The food here is just what I’m looking for in the morning. I usually get the biscuits and gravy plate because they remind me of home. They are seasoned so great with thick cracked pepper and garnished with parsley. So fluffy and creamy!!! I’ll always be a southern boy at heart. The smoothies here are also pretty rad. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, sourdough French toast, chicken cesar salad, burgers! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The owner here is always working and taking your order. He is so polite and quick to set the table for you. As the name suggests there are a treasure trove of spices always in reach to give your meal that extra zing it needs. Spices you rule!

I am in town on business and was looking for a reasonably priced local breakfast/brunch joint. Was very pleased with Spices Café. The Croissant Breakfast Sandwich was generously portioned with several eggs, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a cream cheese spread. Very tasty. The vibe of the restaurant was very relaxing, with classical music playing from the local npr classical affiliate. I was able to stick around and work while I waited for my next appointment. Was also able to park on the street for free. Would definitely come back.

Great prices. I got the gravy and biscuits with a side of pancakes and it was under 10 dollars. Great value for the money and delicious!

Amazing food and relaxing atmosphere. The best $ 10 I have spent on food in this city!(and I’m a food guy) I had the grilled salmon BLT. It was amazing. I’d recommend Spices to anyone who eats.

I was thinking this place was more like a restaurant but it is more like a diner. The food was great and cheap but not too exciting. The portions seem to be quite large and for the price makes it a good value!

So if you want the BEST Buffalo Chicken Wrap in Colorado, this is the place. Only served about once a week, its worth a call to see when it is on the menu…, It was one of the best tasting wraps I have ever had and you will agree!!! We love spices, and we always walk out with a smile on our face!

EXCELLENT tasty surprise! This small café is tucked away off the main street. Here, you order before sitting. The order taker seemed gruff at first, but in fact said thank you and acknowledged each request I made. In the end, I think I mistook his concern and attention to detail as abrupt. He happily accommodated my request to substitute an ingredient. After ordering, I recommend sitting at the counter windows with a nice, wide sunny view. I had the Denver omelette, which came with hash browns &2 pancake. I like flavorful food, and everything was well spiced: tasty and not overwhelming. The omelette was stuffed to the gills with ham, no skimping here! :) The pancakes were out of this world! So fluffy, tasty and perfectly golden. The fresh strawberry was a delicious addition that was not left untouched! Despite ordering at the counter, the cashier-cum-waiter came out to check on me twice during the meal. He brought water and hot sauce on request. There was a wide array of condiments already available at the counter, too. I enjoyed the sparkling water that was available for purchase. The prices were a great value for the quantity and quality of food received. I will hurry back here on my next visit!

Cheap, fast, good breakfast food. First time there, totally get the French toast. Rather small patio, but set back enough from colfax not to be bothered.

What an interesting place! This little brunch spot is tucked away across the street from Voodoo Donuts and is a great place to grab a casual meal on a lazy day. We came in not quite knowing what to expect, and were a little startled that we order at the counter first. But despite the order ahead system, the service was wonderful and our was food brought out to us when it was ready. I ordered the sourdough French toast with berries and a latte. The toast was really unique and delicious and came in a HUGE portion. The berries were fresh and unadorned, which made me feel less bad as I happily devoured half a loaf of bread’s worth of the toast. My only complaint is the price markup for getting berries versus no berries… an extra $ 3 for a sprinkle of fruit seems excessive. The latte was better than I expected since they actually make the espresso and steam the milk rather than relying on a latte machine. And the outside patio was a great spot to relax and people watch as we shared our meal. Will likely be back in the future!

I’m ashamed to say that I walked into Spices yesterday, saw that it was completely empty, and almost walked back out again. I’m so glad I didn’t. The French Toast with Fresh Berries was phenomenal.(See photo for evidence.) The bread was soft and yielding to the bite, the strawberries and blueberries were actually fresh, the powdered sugar was beautiful and leant an extra note of complex sweetness to the dish; I really couldn’t have asked for more. Except I did. In the form of an overeasy egg on rye toast on the side. That egg was absolutely perfect — the slightest touch of my fork and the thin skin released rivulets of fresh, bright yellow hot egg yolk onto my perfectly crispy toast. When my order arrived at my seat everything was the perfect temperature. I even got my own water jug, which I appreciated because being in Denver always makes me feel like all the water is being leached out of my body faster than I can replace it. The service left a bit to be desired, but after tasting the food I didn’t mind the slight surliness. The prices are great here too, especially considering what you’d pay for equivalent quality in DC. This was my first meal in the Mile High City on this Denver trip and I have a feeling it’ll become part of the regular rotation on subsequent trips.

Super quaint joint with a great breakfast. Really friendly service and the prices are a steal. I had the sourdough french toast with sausage and eggs with some drip. On their patio with some beautiful February weather it was a really great experience. Classic spot on Colfax with a serious patio, I can see myself here often when the weather evens out. These reviews don’t lie!

First time going to Denver, hubby and I wanted to go somewhere yummy & homey for his birthday breakfast. So, he picked this place. It’s so cute! I love sitting by the window watching everyone. The classical music in the café is very soothing. I definitely felt at home & the guy who served us was so sweet! definitely check it out if you are here.

Solid breakfast food right off Colfax. For the price, the best you can get. I love Pete’s Kitchen as much as the next 20-something Denverite, but if you want exceptional diner fare for two-thirds the price of Pete’s, go to Spices. Fast service, cute little spot and truly delicious food. Don’t skip the breakfast croissant sandwich, it was delicious. Oh, and my wife’s mocha was really good! I don’t really drink coffee, but this was a very well done and flavorful breakfast drink.

Went to Spices yesterday as the other place we were going to go to had a very long line. Luckily, there was no line at Spices and we got to place our order right away. At Spices, you order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. I ordered the breakfast burrito and an iced coffee from a very friendly man at the front counter. It was a decent price too for such a large meal(about $ 9.50 or something). The burrito was spicy and tasted very good– it was a big portion so I brought some home. Other food on the menu looks great too! A few omelettes, breakfast quesadilla, sweet breakfast items, and lunch items are on the menu. The special was duck crepes… Which sounded quite enticing, but I wasn’t ready to dive into duck that early in the day :) The food was served quickly and was hot when brought to our table. The staff was friendly, as well. We parked on the street– there was not a shortage of spots on a Sunday afternoon.

Nice little Oasis off of Colfax with a soothing atmosphere bursting with planters and classical music and no overwhelming breakfast crowd. Score! Everything I had was pretty average. The hash browns and oatmeal a touch watery, the bacon a tad overdone. Food-wise, it was good but not great. That said, the service was fast and friendly, and a line-free brunch spot is a bit of a unicorn, so Spices is likely to remain in our rotation.

Spices Café was the culinary highlight of our entire trip. My group of three came to Spices Café for breakfast on an early Sunday morning. Although the reviews warned of long wait times, the café was practically empty when we arrived(around 8AM). The early bird gets the worm after all! Menus are situated on a stand by the front door, so we grabbed a few and helped ourselves to table on the quiet European style patio. Shortly thereafter a server dropped off some water and instructed us to order our meals at the register inside. BREAKFASTCROISSANTSANDWICH($ 5.25): Everyone ordered this. By itself, the sandwich is vegetarian. My husband and brother-in-law got it with a sausage patty for an extra $ 1.75. The main ingredients are egg and cheese topped off by lettuce and tomato in a warm flaky croissant bun. The artichoke parmesan cream tied everything in together. I was plenty full by the time I finished this sandwich, but I’d recommend getting a side of fresh fruit or fluffy hashbrowns($ 2.25) like my dining counterparts did. 4⁄5 Spices Café is serving up awesome food at reasonable prices in a cute café. From the decorations to the light classical music at this gem of a breakfast place you are sure to find a great meal with wonderful customer service. With spring and summer upon us their patio is a wonderful place to sip a coffee and enjoy a phenomenal breakfast with good company. I’ve been hooked since day one. I recommend the croissant sandwich and the gluten free pancakes.
