Cool atmosphere — I decided to checking out for lunch. I loved the red snapper taco, the shrimp and the mushroom tacos were good, but not great. The bartender was great. Overall a good experience. I’d probably come back and try new things. They have some good refreshing cocktails on the menu and as expected– and awesome selection of tequila.

I think this is more like a bar that serves tacos than a taco restaurant that serves alcohol. I picked up dinner on the way home one night. There weren’t many patrons despite the crowds downtown. I hoped I was about to find an overlooked gem. But the food was disappointing. Tacos don’t need to be fancy; just a few quality ingredients can make them delicious. I think there was too much going on in these. When there are so many good taco options in Denver, I doubt I’ll be back.

Visit 9÷13− So… It’s 7pm on Taco Tuesday, we walk in and they are out of half their menu, and after we order they are out of shrimp. She offers us nothing, not even chips or a drink. Come on! Then she tells us we can have the ahi tacos for the Taco Tuesday price. We indulge, receive our tacos 70 minutes later, have orange seeds in our tacos, she chargers us full price for the tacos, and ask for the manager. The manager didn’t come over for 30 minutes. After the worst 2+ hours in a Denver restaurant, I do not plan on coming back.

The place you want to hit before you hit other places or the place you come back to either way not such a bad spot to check out and see or be seen at. The drinks are a bit pricey and the food is Mexican bar food aka an urban taqueria but you are aren’t really going there to eat a huge meal, you are going to see who is out and about! I happened in during the Anti Valentine’s night out with friends and well it was early there and at the time there were mostly hot 20⁄30 somethings but not really anyone I could see any older than that. The crowd was club dressed and ready to have fun and the vibe was still pretty mellow. The long bar seats a good number and there is additional table seating that makes it a good date place. Not sure what it is like during the week, but it also rocks out for private events. I plan on going back and checking it again to indulge in the Happy Hour and to grab a taco. So in the meantime check it out and enjoy the scenery… hot cute men and women abound!

Not only does this place has AWSOME Tacos and good Margaritas, they did their regular Tuesday specials on NYE! $ 2 Taco Tuesdays and $ 4 margaritas! Some other places we went too on NYE didn’t do any of their regular happy hour or specials because it was NYE, but not this place! Carnitas and Chicken Mole tacos were very good, but the pork bell(cooked for 15 hours) was out of this world! Downtown on Tuesday? Check out this place!

Its seems almost as if they make their business for over-pricing these decent tacos. I’m Mexican, ’nuff said. P. S. No me gusto mucho. Mucho menos el servicio de la camarera.

Pretty hip inside and could be seen as a hook-up location I suppose. But besides that, the tacos are pretty dang good. Pricey, but good. Their veggie tacos were surprisingly yummy but their skirt steak with poblano rajas, avocado, crema & queso cotija was amazing. I was hungry at the time, but I desired to have many more of these… but the price kept me from getting more.

Alright, it’s «The Good, the Bad & the Ugly» time. The Good: The tacos tastes great here. We had shrimp and ahi tacos and they were both delightful. They combine a very unique variety of ingredients to make the flavors delightful! The Bad: The tacos are tiny. I thought they were little nibbles on the plate not full fledged tacos! The waitresses were very busy, but very slow to pay attention to us. The Ugly: The bill. $ 4 for a tiny ahi taco and $ 4.50 for tiny shrimp taco. Way overpriced! Do I dare try this place during happy hour or some other special? Maybe, but based upon the experience I have had here I would go to hundreds of other places before returning.

I liked this place. The décor is a little… interesting(mountain rustic meets western and the patio is very, shall we say, cozy. But the food is tasty and seems fresh. We got the salsa sampler which was a nice way to sample all of their salsas(the menu says to choose three but our waitress just brought them all). The habanero was incredibly watery and hard to really get on the chip. The chipotle grabbed the chip and wouldn’t let go… no scooping necessary. The other three were our favorites, though I don’t remember exactly what they were made of, and were in between the watery and paste-like consistancies of the other two. Margaritas were tasty and strong… now the main event: the tacos. The cheese one I was tempted to get but didn’t… I should have. It was SO good! I wouldn’t mind having three of those on a regular basis. Yum! Al Pastor was quite yummy, as was the chicken mole. To finish, we had«the sopapilla» which is actually many bitesized sopapillas that you can dip in either chocolate(which we had to ask for but it was a wonderful decision) or honey. Quite yummy but we were also quite full by the time we left.

I’ve only been here on $ 2 Tuesdays. I do wish they allowed the steak and ahi on the $ 2 menu. Alas they don’t. I think $ 4 is a bit too expensive for tacos given I have had same quality tacos in SoCal for half the price. I like the chips and salsa and the guac is pretty good. They also have a yummy Mexican lager on tap. Will continue to go here for $ 2 Taco Tuesdays!

The veggie tacos are amazing. Next time I go that’s all I’m ordering, and all the stars are for the veggie tacos. The margaritas were fine, I like mine not sweet at all, so I probably shouldn’t order them in restaurants. The chips and salsa were really good. Some soggy chips, but I kind of like the occasional soggy one, and they’re made in house so they get a pass from me. I’ll definitely be bad on Tuesdays or during Happy Hour. Maybe I’m old and stingy, but $ 10.50 for three veggie tacos seems a little ridiculous to me but $ 6 sounds just fine.

I was really looking forward to this urban Taco eatery and the place looked hippie and trendy. It was a Tuesday afternoon at around 5, the restaurant was mostly empty, the happy hour crowd hasn’t convened here yet, so it was a surprise to me that we sat there for 10 minutes before somebody came over. And as soon as I presented my Groupon I was told it’s Tuesday, happy hour all day so I may not use my Groupon. What are the odds! But I wouldn’t give up, I was determined to use it before it expires next week and it wasn’t easy for me to find parking in Downtown! So I talked to the guy, and then the girl, and then she went back to the guy… finally, we settled on using the Groupon only towards non-discounted items. Sounds fair to me. But it lead me to think it wouldn’t been nice for them to put this on Groupon’s fine print«CANNOTBEUSEDONTUESDAYS»! My friend and I tried tacos, she had the veggie and I had the pork belly. Both quite tasty yet a little different. I’d call them fusion tacos. For happy hour prices($ 2 per taco, small though), these were nice. For the Groupon portion of my order, I took it to go: Cheese Crisp(Mexican Pizza) was best warm, thank God I had a piece before leaving ’cause they all got cold by the time I got home; Fresh Red Snapper and Shrimp Ceviche were neither horrible nor outstanding, I’m sure it would’ve made a difference if eaten at the restaurant, presented in nice cocktail glasses or something. I also remember getting sort of a Queso dip with ground beef and chicken, instead of chips and salsa, also pretty good. I later«dressed» the Cheese Crisp with some of the«meat sprinkles» and instantly upgraded both dishes! Bottom line, I was happy to have tried T/ACO once.

If ‘urban taqueira’ means you charge twice as much for regular tacos, then maybe these guys are onto something. But in a saturated area with already excellent Mexican food and service, having just a-ok food and sassy waiters won’t be getting you anywhere quickly. We jokingly called it, ‘Teh-Slash-Co’… only to be greeted with dagger stares and purposefully slow service in a half-empty restaurant. Unfortunately, this low quality service and food has continued to be a trend for the 3 – 4 times I’ve been here, so I’m just going to go out and say it: «Pass.»

Awful. I will keep this short and quick… like my experience here. So disappointed! Service sucked, tacos sucked(they were COLD after a 25 min wait for them) The salsas were interesting, but they are definitely«trying to hard» Definitely on the EXPENSIVE side, although they do have $ 2 taco Tuesday The DJ thing is a little much for such a small space The only reason this place gets two stars is the tequila shots and the presentation! Hats off there T/aco! I highly doubt I will be returning. Maybe in a few months after the kinks are worked out. I much prefer Margs!

Delicious! Gourmet tacos in a laid back but upper-scale bar. If you like tequila, this is the place for you. Walls full of more tequilas than I’ve ever heard of. Taps are all Mexican beers. Not my fav, but a cold Victoria is good every now and then. The tacos are all unique and tasty. Duck, shrimp, steak, snapper, pork belly, all delish. And, virtually the entire menu is gluten free, for my gluten intolerant friends. Great happy hour specials. Tuesdays are all night happy hour and $ 2 Tacos. Really friendly service. I will def be back. This would be a great place to chill after work and beat the traffic.

I’ve been to T/ACO twice now, once for dinner and once for Saturday brunch, and both times with a LivingSocial deal. I really liked the food and the service was good(FYI it was dead both times I was in), but have one major gripe. First the tasty food. For dinner I had the skirt steak taco, the pork belly taco, and the red snapper taco. All were great, with the skirt steak narrowly winning top honors. The flavors were bold and ingredients fresh, while the taco shells were perfect delivery mechanisms. I also had a house margarita on the rocks, which was a decent marg. For brunch I had the steak & egg, the chorizo, and the belly hash. Again, bold flavors and fresh — delicious. The steak and egg was particularly interesting, as the egg was over-easy versus scrambled. It was messy, but worth it. So what’s my beef? The price for quantity. Maybe I’m still spoiled having lived in the land of tacos(Texas), but the amount of food for the price did not relate well in my opinion. I have nothing wrong with paying for good food and understand the street taco concept, but $ 4 for a tiny taco is too much for me to justify. I’ve had some of what I consider the best tacos out of a truck in Houston for $ 2 each and much larger. If T/ACO cut the price of each taco by about $ 1 — $ 1.50, I’d be stopping in quite a bit when I venture downtown. I really hope these guys do well, as the food was fantastic. I just can’t spend that much money on such tiny street tacos(I could probably eat 4 – 6 on any given sitting). If the prices go down, you can expect to see me here again /more often. I did notice my last time in that they now have a lunch special of 3 tacos for like $ 7 or $ 7.50, so I will have to investigate that further.

Continuing a culinary adventure we started at 11AM that morning, a group member had a groupon to T/ACO and even though most of the group was not that hungry we ventured on over to grab a small bite. We ordered: Guacamole with chips Chips and Salsa(Habenero, Roasted Salsa Verde, Salsa Chipotle, and Mild Tomato) Cheese Crisp Mexican Pizza Two Carnita Taco’s A side of black beans The guacamole was okay. Once you’ve had Lola’s guacamole it’s hard for other guacamole’s to measure up if you know what I mean. This one seemed a bit bland, no heat, no tomato’s, no onion, and it needed some salt and acid. Word to the wise, guacamole is more than just mashed up avocado. At least the avocado was fresh — bonus point for that. Chips are served warm/hot in a paper bag and you get more than you have room on the plate for. The salsas were fresh and tasty, my favorite was the roasted salsa verde I think. The Cheese Crisp Mexican Pizza was just a flour tortilla with melted shredded cheese — nothing all that special in my opinion. I didn’t have the pleasure to try the Carnita taco’s although my dining companion pronounced them good. One thing that seemed unexceptable — really tight booths. For any person bigger than 80 lbs. the booths are a tight fit. Disclaimer: This is certainly not the best taco place in Denver. This is a pretty decent choice for taco’s in the downtown lodo area.

Some of the reviews here seem a bit harsh. True, you can get cheaper, more authentic, and tastier tacos many places in the Denver area. However, they ones I had here(carnitas) were decent, and more affordable than what I usually find in suburban Mexican restaurants. The chips were fresh and warm, the salsas were a mixed bag. I appreciated the heat of the habanero, but I thought the tomatillo ones were a bit blah. Texture was lacking. These came of more like gourmet hot sauces than dipping salsas. Guacamole was fresh, but it really needed more salt and more lime. And, once again, it could have used some chunky bits. Service was good. Booths were tight. Stools were uncomfortable. Some off-the-wall complaints. I really, really disliked the copper-sheathed tabletops. It made my hands smell like I had been holding a fistful of sweaty pennies. Every time I brought some food up to my face I caught a whiff, and I did not like it. Also, I know it is cool and modern to serve room temperature water. But, jeez people, what do I have to do to get a glass of ice-water these days? Half the time I ask for one, it either never shows up, or takes a long time to arrive.

Meh. Sums it up. Meh… Joining the likes of D’Corazon, The Rio, and Wahoo’s on Blake is a tall order and T/ACO(surprisingly pronounced Ti-aco?) just doesn’t quite match up to it’s popular predecessors. It’s doing something a little different with tacos then some of those other places, but their street taco thing just makes me frustrated and hungry. Tuesday’s $ 2 tacos are minuscule. I have to hope that the tacos served outside of the $ 2 special are a bit heftier. I would not pay the regular $ 3.50−4.00 menu price for these little guys. The filings were alright, nothing to write home about. But they were really small. The chips were warm and pretty good, but the salsas were pretty gringo and some even bordered on sweet. I like some heat in my salsas and these missed the mark. The service was not good either. Understandably, we walked in during the lunch rush, but the hostess didn’t even offer to take our name for a party of 4 until we brought it up. Luckily, we work nearby and waiting wasn’t a huge deal. She did get us seated when we returned 15 minutes later. Our waitress was no where to be found for another 10 minutes though and she wasn’t present for most of our meal either. The food was brought by runners, cleared by a hostess, and refills were only seen when we flagged random people down. Two of my lunchmates order diet cokes and both were flat. When they asked for another/something else, the waitress commented, «Oh yea. It’s been like that. I don’t know why.» And you still served it as if nothing was wrong? Tell me when I order that the machine is not working correctly if you know it’s not, please. We’ve got a few more Groupons floating around the office and no one is all that excited to return. They may be better spent on a quick marg rather than the tacos…

I was happy to see them open a Denver location. I had been to the Boulder location twice. Tonight we had first dinner using a Denver Daily Deals coupon before walking a few restaurants to Hapa Sushi. The booths for 2 people were small. The server seated us far away from the front door with it being snowy outside. She has probably received complaints about the cold like from Megan S. For a newly opened restaurant, some of the tables had napkins under the legs to level them. We were the only ones in the restaurant side. Everyone else was sitting at the bar. We ordered the Shrimp, Chicken Mole, and Carnitas. They came out super fast. All were good and we would order them again. The server did not bring us any salsas like we have had in Boulder, but she brought us a little complimentary dish of tastless black beans. If we didn’t have the coupon, we would come for the $ 7.95 deal for 2 tacos and a soda.
