I had a wedding in downtown Denver and asked around for a place to get my hair done for the wedding. Someone told me to go see Donna at The Brush and Comb. I can’t say enough good things about this salon and the people that work there. It is located in this amazing cute little house right on Tennyson street in the heart of it all of the Highlands. There is amazing art work you can buy and fun jewelry as well. Donna, did an amazing job! I got compliments on my hair all night long. I felt so beautiful. The other stylists there were so nice and personable as well. I might have to start going here more often! I honestly can’t say enough about this hidden gem. Please go see them, it is amazing!!!

First, I’ll start with the salon as a whole — situated in a house in the Berkeley neighborhood of Denver, this quaint little salon has such a homey, welcoming vibe(which often cannot be said of those high-priced, uppity salons we’ve all been to in the past). I am instantly relaxed when I walk through the door and love that my hard-earned money is going to support a local small business. As far as services go — the staff here can do it all. I personally entrust my golden locks to Kim McGowan who is an absolute rockstar. She’s transformed my blonde into the perfect mix of high and low lites, resulting in a rich beachy hue. I’m scheduled to get my extensions put in with here later this month(she is So-Cap certified and getting her Great Lengths certification as well) and can’t wait to see what magic she performs to lengthen and volumize my fine hair. Overall, I definitely recommend this little gem, and Kim is a must see for cut, color, extensions, you name it!

This is literally the greatest hair salon in the history of hair salons. I’ve moved out of state and lived on both coasts, but I fly back to Denver to have Krissy do my Yuko hair straightening. Every time I try someone local, they mess it up because I have really difficult hair. Krissy makes it look easy and gets my crazy hair straight with minimum damage. She also does fantastic color. If you need hair straightening in Denver, this is where you go. Period. If you’re getting it done somewhere else, you’re missing out and giving your hair less than the best. Candi also does absolutely gorgeous updos. She did my hair for my wedding and high school proms, which should tell you how long I’ve been getting my hair done by these awesome ladies :) Tiffany also did hair for my bridesmaids, mom, and mother in law for my wedding. My mom is super finnicky about her hair, but Tiffany found her a style she liked. I can’t say enough good things about the Brush and Comb.

I was so scared to move to Denver and have to find a hairdresser who could do my Yuko Japanese straightening and understand my hair. After looking on the Yuko website, I found Krissy at the Brush and Comb and all my fears are gone. She is amazing — and this is the best straightening I’ve had in 3 years of doing it. The salon is adorable — modern and comfortable. Everyone is so nice there, and you feel right at home the second you walk in. The prices are reasonable too. I have recommended the salon to everyone I know. Great place!
