Matchbox is a favorite with my coworkers for happy hours. Very relaxed and great deals! Also a wonderful place for events!

We held a going away party at The Matchbox… and it was awesome! It was just what we wanted, a relaxing environment and a ton of fun, with a great CO vibe to send our friend off! Setting up the event was super easy and the staff was great to work with! We loved being able to cater in our own food! I will definitely be holding more events at The Matchbox! Cheers!

This was my first time here and it’s an awesome bar except for one thing. Spent $ 30 on the ami jukebox and everything was played except for my favorite 2 electronic songs. No idea who it was but I feel like it was more of a personal issue because everyone was dancing and then boo’d when it was skipped. Tell whoever worked on Jan 2nd to cut that shit out plz

Mm, The Matchbox isn’t my bar of choice. As soon as we walked in, it was pretty dark(too dark for me.) the drink specials were pretty good. and there’s an outside area for games like corn hole and smokers. but it was way too cold for us when were there last weekend. The space is small, and there seems to be an area for dancing. but no one dances. I wouldn’t mind coming back to this bar, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

My wife, her friend, and I stopped here first last Friday night. Loved the atmosphere. It was pretty dark with the right amount of light to make it a bit intimate. This was definitely a hipster bar and I loved people watching. We ended up sitting at the bar. Our friend had a Denver passport for specials at bars. Even though The Matchbox was included in the booklet, the bartender explained that nobody actually came and talked to their establishment for approval so unfortunately they cannot honor the coupon. Cool. We didn’t mind. It was still pretty awesome that they had happy hour deals until 8 pm. Specific beers were $ 3 which were mind blowing. Prices for alcohol in DC are way expensive so when we got our bill, my wife ended up tipping the bartender the same amount of our bill. Definitely loved this place in Rhino. We will definitely be back when we come visit again.

This is a cool place to go with friends if you want a laid back night, although this part of town gets rowdy on the weekends and its always fun. The bartenders are cool and attentive, and the drink prices are a STEAL. I’ll be back!

This place is a lovable, and fitting bar in RiNo! Some close friends and I stopped in on our way to Meadowlark. It was my first time here, I love the feel of it. The street art outside makes a city girl like me happy. Also, I ordered the first round of drinks, expecting to cringe when seeing the bill(you never know in Denver). It was actually extremely reasonable. It was very packed on a Friday night, definitely standing room only.

Big fan of Matchbox. I have only been a few times, but the experience is always the same. The place has a fun packed vibe, but there is always plenty of room. The wait to get drinks is never super long. Music is always great. Overall, one of my favorite bars in the RINO area. It is unfortunate I do not make it out in this area enough!

We had a great time here on a Sunday afternoon playing bocce ball, listening to my jukebox selections(I’m an awesome jukebox DJ), and drinking infused shots of tequila and vodka. Everyone was super friendly, the outside patio area has lots of cool graffiti(as well as a nice view of an alley full of art), and our shots were tasty and inexpensive. This place felt very Oaklandish.

My first visit here was last night(Friday 5÷8÷15) and I have to say, the DJ could use a little tact and maybe get his head out of his ass. He was completely rude and pushed my arm away as I leaned in. If your worried about your equipment maybe you should re-think the area you are setting up in. Your a DJ, people are going to ask for requests.

This place is a total hole but my friends keep going there. Guess it’s no worse than Bender’s in its heyday.

A friend of mine who drove us to the bar was dancing before entering to one her favorite songs. She drank nothing this evening and no logic or persuasion would make the door-guy consider that the person he’s refusing to enter is completely sober. We witnessed harassment on multiple custumers during our short visit to Matchbox. I saw a couple get denied and when I asked why they said the door-guy saw his friend trip on the lip at the entrance of the bar.

I love coming to matchbox for cheap drinks. They always have great bar specials and no long lines to get in the door(even on Halloween)! Without a doubt a local hidden gem where you can get delicious drinks for half the price of surrounding bars. Come for happy hour and you’ll see some even better deals!

Just an awesome, neighborhood bar in RiNo. This place is a great, laid-back place to grab a beer with friends. The crowd is friendly. The bartenders are pleasant and never too busy to add a bit more ginger to a very strong Jack & Ginger. They don’t have a spectacular draft list(mostly Breck & Great Divide for the local beers) but they have an IPA and that is about all I require. The drinks are cheap, the bathrooms are clean and there is a great patio area. And, since this is RiNo, there is actual, free, street parking.

The Matchbox is a pretty typical dive bar. The drinks are strong, but you have to wait for them — the bartenders are not really into customer service. There is a decent patio at the back of the bar, and an indoor/outdoor counter at the front. I believe you can smoke on both so the air gets a little bit gross. It’s a good bar crawl stop, but not necessarily a destination, at least not for me.

I was with a larger group of friends celebrating a birthday so three of us went to the bar to get drinks for everyone. We stood there for 15 minutes and didn’t get acknowledged once. It was Saturday night so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt until a rather aggressive lady pushed herself between the three of us at the bar and was addressed by the bar tender immediately. I was impressed with the lady’s tactics but not the bartender’s. We left and gave our 12 person group’s business to another bar. That may not be the norm but its not worth my time to see. Too many good bars in Denver.

The Matchbox is kind of the type of neighborhood bar that you don’t actually have to live in the neighborhood to go to. It has everything that you would expect; Smart and sometimes snarky service. Cold affordable drinks and the regulars that know everyone’s name. The infusions change often and all I can tell you is that so far each one I’ve tried was pretty spot on. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, you might just blow right past it driving up Larimer, and it’s be to your loss. So keep your eyes open as you are getting close. Free parking is a pain in the ass to find anywhere up here so bite the bullet and bring $ 5(cash only) to park in the lot next door.

Me reviewing this hipster /neighborhood bar is kinda like your grandfather writing a review of the new iphone 6… But bars are bars, right? They hopefully have the liquor you want in an atmosphere that makes you smile. Matchbox, however, seemed dead last night(I thought Thursdays were the new Fridays); and didn’t have the late night liquor I liked(Wild Turkey 101, or in a pinch, 86). They did have a nice patio, but the vibe was over-fedora’ed and a bit too ear-plugged for me. So on to the next bar just down the street. .. prolly won’t return.
