The Railway Bridge over Brighton

I live in Five Points and like to bike down to Commons Park. My route takes me under this bridge and I am filled with dread every time I must navigate its noisome stretch. I don’t usually encounter people, but there always seem to be critters scavenging what I can only assume are the «leavings», shall we say, of those who inhabit this space in the night.

Right after Broadway turns into Brighton in North Denver there is a railway bridge that goes over Brighton. This bridge provides some convenient cover from the extremities for those underneath it as it also seems fairly sheltered from the wind. Thus, it has become a sort of homeless tweaker paradise, one in which they can form their own society and live by their own rules. This would be all well and good if it weren’t for the fact that this is a public walkway, one in which needs to be used to get further North on Brighton.
Word of advice, take the Northern side of the walkway, and don’t come this way unless you feel secure dealing with tweaked-​out panhandlers. Avoid at night.
