This place has total potential! But it needs to really look at format and structure. No coat check??? It’s Colorado folks. As big as this place is, how can you not have a coat check? Who wants to dance next to people wearing smelly winter coats. You have three big rooms, make them very distinct. One room with good dance music. The other more of a lounge where people can talk. The other dedicated to Salsa Dancing!!! Youll attract all sorts of people and provide a cool variety. You’ll make a killing!!!

The bartenders Rich, Tim, and Alli are the best in town. The atmosphere is terrific both on weekdays and weekends.

This place is a mess, bartender seem he doesn’t like his job. We took few glasses of cocktail and nothing is amazing about it. The only reason I gave 3 stars was for the venue, the room is great and very relaxing.

Came here for an awesome night out when visiting from NY. I was with a decent sized group of people and we had a really fun time here. There are two rooms in the lounge. One room is a bit more chill with tables and a long bar and some really good music. We kept ordering a strawberry infused drink at this bar and it was incredibly good. The music in the second room was mostly hip-hop and pretty good. We were able to dance and enjoy our night. I’m deducting two stars because for a weekend night, this place did not draw much of a crowd and we were there pretty late. Had we not come with a group of several people, I’m not sure it would have been as much fun. Nice bartenders, good drinks, and good music.

We attended a holiday cocktail party here this last weekend and it was really just kind of meh. The bar was reserved for us for 2 hours prior to their regular opening, which was nice, but I thought it was strange the bartender told us to save our glasses because they can’t do the dishes fast enough. I know this may seem trivial, but really? We weren’t filling up even half of the bar and were the only ones in there. Wouldn’t the glasses have been cleaned the night before, or before we arrived? And what on earth would you do when this place is full? I had a fine time, but that was due to the company. After hearing that from the bartender, I couldn’t help but suspect my glasses were dirty and unwashed.

I may change my review later, if i actually get into this place. I have been trying to make reservations for NYE and have yet to get a hold of anyone. It’s not just me, but 2 other people calling and emailing for more info. Thats all we need! Guess you don’t want my money :-/

What to say, what to say.(taps finger on keyboard)… I’m waffling between 2 and 3 stars for this place. The music selection was just average; and eventually the DJ left, presumably for the night — but some random music selector kept alternating between stuff that had a mild dance beat and regurged tiresome hip-hop tunes. The owner, or at least who I was informed to be the owner by my friend treating me to drinks that night, started mumbling to the bartender serving us as soon as he saw my friend; apparently my friend got fired up at some point in the past and performed some questionable actions in the presence of this guy. Owner kept mumbling to the bartender, despite the fact we were filling his register with cash, and kept repeating himself. Honest to God, I don’t know if the guy got knocked on the head a little too hard or was all coked up. My friend and the owner made some sort of uneasy peace; right in front of me — although by this time(and more than a few drinks deep), *I* wanted to hurdle the bar and face the guy. I’m not stupid, had no desire to get arrested of course — but his conduct was borderline offensive to me. At some point he left to go to 1 of the other 2 adjoining bars — and the bartender left, as well. After my friend and I talked about 2 – 3 minutes, we noticed we were the only ones left in the bar. Not sure if there are any security systems or cameras installed, but way to set yourself up for an easy heist, Tryst. Anyone could have come in, punched the register open, and walked out with all your profits that night through the continually open, bouncer-less door. Smart!!! I mentioned this to my friend, who eventually wrangled the bartender, who *then* summoned another person to «be a placeholder». Ummmmmmmmm… ok then! Anyways, besides all that, depending on your visual preference, you can see a decent amount of eye candy here at the right times(which varies); from people who are drunkenly dancing on the dance floor to others«busting out» of their tight-topped dresses or too small-sized button-down shirts, but… you can do better. You can do better. If you’re headed here, my advice would be to traverse between Tryst and the 2 adjoining bars(connected in the back half via adjacent door) and see which club environment appeals to you the most.

Fun atmosphere! The staff is great and the new décor looks great! The drink prices are standard for Denver and they have a great infused vodka that you need to try. Definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and hanging out!

Tryst Lounge is a sick blend of loud sorority bimbo’s who seem to all be fused together like Lego’s and frat boy style assholes who want to grind on them. The music was decent but the drinks were highway robbery. The place was packed and fake tans, deep V’s and boob jobs seemed to be par for the course. This actually saddened me, as the bar layout itself was pretty cool and the location is great. The potential is there. However, The lounge clearly caters to ass to the holes. Maybe it’s because i’m in my thirties now and I get angry quicker due to my lack of patience dealing with these kinda bars. So after two expensive drinks and several elbow’s to navigate thru the tipsy crowd, we fled. Tryst, schymist.

The new space looks cool. However, I have a feeling that sandwiched between it’s two sibling establishments that it, too, may soon fall prey to similar clientele.

The DJ;s are at Tryst are great. I thought it was always like a Ultra Lounge with a 3 hour wait just to get in then a hour wait to get a drink. Not so. We got right in got a table and ordered drinks, and the Bartenders were friendly. Wasn’t to crowded. We didn’t feel like we were getting sneered at for being under dressed in button down shirts and jeans. Great Experience here all the way around. The Drinks were LODO prices but didn’t break the bank.

Tryst may not have the hype or size of other lounges but it’s Staff &DJ’s what make all the difference. There’s no one thing that Tryst excels at but overall it just works & always turns out to be a good time. Walking by you think«what is this place»? Looking in you’re thinking«Looks kinda cool, let’s check it out». Then you walk in you’re not quite sure where to go or what to do. Is it a bar or a lounge? Is it upscale or is it casual? Should I stand, sit or dance? Well… it’s a little bit of all those things but not particularly excellent at any of them either. This flexibility plays to Tryst’s advantage as the vibe is always a little different depending on the night & who’s there. At the same time, this is what hurts Tryst as well since they lack a niche or identity which many other downtown destinations have forged making them the premier hot spots. Although we’ve certainly started & ended our night at Tryst before, it’s more often one of several destinations in a night of club/bar hopping downtown. With that being said… it’s not uncommon for Tryst to be where we had the most fun at the end of it all. The décor is hip, comfortable & inviting. The video picture frames are a slick touch. There’s varied places to stand, sit or kick back & carry on conversation. They have booths & tables for bottle service but unlike others places, they will let you chill there if they aren’t reserved. The bathrooms are small & usually clean but not really a highlight or enjoyable experience. They have a small area outside you can step out & get some fresh air. It’s nothing fancy but it’s a great place to watch some drunken shenanigans by passers by(boy have I seen some funny sh*t). In the warmer months they pop open the front garage door windows open which really opens things up to the outside. Usually if a place puts the word«lounge» in it’s name that means they charge double for their drinks. At Tryst their drinks are strong & cheap. Even when crowded I can’t recall having to wait more then 2 or 3 minutes for a drink ever. The door staff are down to earth, funny & always smiling instead of the typical«so serious» door guy. If there’s one thing I can always count on it’s the music. The DJ’s spin the typical dance remixes & mash-up’s of all the latest Hip-Hip and R&B music you’ll hear elsewhere except they’re just better at it. There’s no dedicated dance floor but that doesn’t stop people from bobbin’ their heads & dancing where ever. Tryst as a Lounge would just get 3 stars but their staff are what bump this place up to 4 stars. Bottom line: If you’re looking for the ultra-hip bottle service scene or like spending $ 10 for drinks, try 24K, Lime, or elsewhere. If you’re looking to have all the fun in a little more casual environment without the snobbery, then give Tryst a try.

Beautiful place. But poorly promoted. I have been here twice and the place has been dead BOTHTIMES. It’s a total shame, its a great looking place. But the whole idea of a bar/lounge is to mingle with people — not look at your friends and wonder why the place isnt packed. Whats even more embaressing is the front porch next door is always popping and crowded as hell. Making what little people they have in the lounge look nonexistant.

Strawberry infused vodka was delish. Bartender was talkative and fun. I would definitely head back to this joint — -but at EARLIER hours to avoid the reserved seating. Reserved seating at clubs is a nuisance and the reason I don’t go downtown more often.

Every time I end up in Denver I inevitable come and have a few drinks at Tryst. This place has a young, modern vibe, yet it’s not pretentious. The space is very broken up so you can be right in the thick of it at the bar or just chill at one of the tables towards the back wall. The bartenders are always fast and courteous. Bar manager Fletcher is a nice and cool dude, he can get very creative with drinks and also makes his own strawberry infused vodka… dangerous and delicious! Tryst has definitely become my staple in the Denver bar scene.

Let me preface this with Tryst is not the type of bar/lounge where I generally hang out. My friends and I went there last night(Saturday 1⁄29) after dinner for my birthday. I thought it might be fun to try something new and they had a DJ. When we rolled into Tryst around 8:30, we were almost the first people there. There were tables but they were all reserved. Tryst is small, pretty chic and a little intimidating for someone who does not frequent the lounge scene. I had somewhat low expectations for the service – it just looked like the type of place where the bartenders and servers would be snobs. However, the service at Tryst rocked. My group didn’t have reservations, but one of the bartenders(Scott) said we could sit at a reserved table until those people arrived. Jamie was our cocktail waitress and she was really sweet and accommodating. Luckily, there was one table area left unreserved, so when we decided to stay and order bottle service we had somewhere to sit! The DJ was pretty good, and Fletcher(presumably a bartender) hooked us up with some birthday drinks. As the night went on, that place was packed. There was a lot of dancing and I think we all had a good time. One of my favorite things about Tryst was they have a beer vending machine! That rocks! I would recommend this place for someone who likes to dance and likes loud clubs/lounges. Probably not for people looking for a mellow experience. Also not for the claustrophobic! Take care of your bartenders and servers, these people are awesome and very friendly!

Ummmm… Just left comedy club, where is the next place to grab a drink… well right across the street… however this place is just not my bag baby. Not sure what the theme is here, but it’s not screaming dance your ass off and have fun that’s for sure. This is a dance club??? No room for dancing, the bar is small, the tables and couches look like they are just for pretty like in the«sitting room» at your snooty sister-in-laws house. The drinks were way over priced, the wine that was ordered by a memeber in group had to be sent back, at least they didn’t charge for another cocktail after that. The video picture frames are kinda cool, but why would you come to the club to watch music videos, unless your were trying to practice the dance moves… I think I saw some dudes doing exactly that last night… very strange place. However– The one really cool thing about the whole place, is the Hand Dryer in the ladies room… Holy cow patty that thing is so freakin cool!

Working theory: When a bar/restaurant has a «y» in the middle of the name, beware. You are about to enter a really superficial club filled with the kind of people that will pay too much for a Coors Light just because this is the«cool» place to be. Not surprisingly, tryst has a «y» in the middle of its name. I was here on Friday and was wholly disappointed in this place. The drinks are overpriced, the décor is pretentious and the clientele is annoyingly drunk. To put it lightly, this is not my scene. There’s no place to dance, even though it was described as a dance club. The DJ or whatever mix CD was playing, kept playing 1 – 2 minutes of a song and then switching to another one, completely messing with the cadence of any dancing that was trying to occur. I saw numerous people that should have been kicked out of that club for being too drunk, but because they were female and wearing mini dresses, they were allowed to stay and blow chunks in the women’s bathroom, rendering it utterly useless for the remainder of the night. And no one on the staff did anything about it. Tryst is ground zero for the disease douchebagitis. I hope to God I did not catch it while I was there. Although, I do have the urge to suddenly pop the collar of every shirt I wear now…

This was the site of the infamous Date and Dash event that I’m still quite fired up about(as you can tell from my review of that company). But, I’m trying not to take it out too much on the bar, although they lose one star for associating with a ridiculous company like that. This place has those cool front windows that flip up like garage doors and couches that make you feel like you are sitting in a lounge-style-patio, without the disruption of rain. This is not the place to go for cheap happy hour drinks, you may get a little sticker shock. But, they definitely have a complete bar. You can order some pretty esoteric drinks there and they have the fixins for them. The bartender was pretty cool and was doing shots with some folks at the end of the bar. I rarely find myself in Writers Square(mostly because the street parking is all 1hr until 10pm and I hate running out to the meter every hour with quarters). Oh, and the writers square parking lot, what funked up jerk designed that thing and inflicted it upon Denver? One second you’re supposed to be in the right lane, then you’re supposed to stay on the left, not that you could ever get out of any of the parking spots once you got into them. Argh! So, I don’t think I would go out of my way to head here again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid it either.
