CJ Sound

We were very happy with our DJ and photobooth, and the lighting expertise was a bonus! The night was flawless. You do need to spend quite a bit of time filling out the online form so that the DJ knows what songs to play for events (bouquet toss, bridal party entrance, etc) and you have the option of picking out specific songs to play. We got DJ Jimmy, who was personable and great at MC-​ing. We customized our playlist for dinnertime based on what we love listening to on Pandora (French Café style music and some classic 1940’s style songs).
The photobooth was a huge hit –worth the extra cost! We considered scratching it to help our budget but in the end we kept it and were so glad. At the end of the night we got a large photo album of the photobooth strips, as well as a flashdrive with digital copies.
The uplighting under the cake and under our sweetheart table were romantic and did wonders for the ambiance. We highly recommend allowing CJ Sound to customize your lighting experience. We were invited to one of his events (the Fire & Ice Ball) to stop in and observe his work, which we admired!

Our DJ from CJ Sound certainly kept the party going — people had a great time. They danced all night long and basically refused to leave our wedding. He took requests, which kept everyone happy.
We did have a couple complaints, though.
I think our DJ may have gotten drunk? Is that normal? He also kept bringing my husband drinks — and he’s not really a drinker. Like, very nice of him, but that’s not the DJ’s job.
Also, he didn’t listen to me very well when I listed off what kind of music we did or didn’t like. At least he didn’t play any country?
And he kept talking. I realize that you need to introduce different parts of the reception, which is fine, but often he would just start talking between or even during songs, encouraging people to do things like stand in a circle around me and my husband to «SWAY! SWAY FOR SAM AND MARTI!» which was just weird and uncomfortable.
If you don’t mind having a gregarious DJ, I would hire these guys. If not… maybe do a better job of checking out your DJs before letting your mother just hire a company because she knows the aunt of one of their DJs.
