I’ve had two dealings with the branch. Both very satisfying. One was a truck rental. All went well. The other was repairing the trailer light harness. All good. Plus I sat in the lobby and heard them greet every customer with a reservation by name. Extremely attentive. A very well run branch which is not the norm for many UHaul branches.

This is a dishonest company. They promise door to door u-box delivery and then change the order after you have shipped. After paying them $ 2,500 they now tell me I have to pick the box up myself. For more money, they will rent me a truck and trailer to pick it up myself. They promise door to door and do not follow through!

When I hauled my life cross country from Denver to Buffalo, I decided to hitch a small UHaul to my small SUV to transport my belongings. In order to do this, I had to have a hitch installed on my vehicle. UHaul did this for me for about $ 300. You have to buy all of the parts(about $ 250 for my Nissan Rogue), and the installation(about $ 60). Then of course, you rent a trailer. And take 3.5 days worth of driving with 2 dogs in tow to get back home. Haha! I’d do it again. It wasn’t bad at all. Since I’m getting a new car, I have opted to have my hitch removed. For $ 60, UHaul removed the hitch today. To have it put back on my next car, since the model and body is the same/similar it’ll cost about the same as it was to remove. The staff here were all friendly. The waiting area is not really a waiting area but a few(actually comfy) chairs facing a wall of doo-dads. I was out of there in about 1.5 hours(call ahead to make an appointment). I would come back here for anything else UHaul related that I need. They’ve got great stuff for moving. I especially liked the mattress bags and furniture movers I got from Here for the move. Helped a lot!

Ok. So. I really think the issue here is with corporate U-Haul, and not with the branch itself, though I will say that our previous dispute with the company was handled well. We came back to rent a truck(yeah, I know — we never learn) and the gentleman behind the counter was nothing but super nice. Thus the addition of stars. He was very attentive and happily answered our questions. This time was hassle free. Each time we’ve had trouble with U-Haul, it’s been an issue with billing, or picking up a vehicle, and I strongly suspect that it’s the corporation’s influence. The staff at this particular U-Haul seems pretty cool. I may not dig U-Haul as a company, but I can’t really rag on the local staff.
