Restaurant closed, and rumor around town is that it is being remodeled and will re-open.

We had reservations for a large family gathering, although I doubt we needed it because they weren’t busy at all. Service didn’t look to happy to see our large group arrive and was very scattered and not very organized, but mostly kind and attentive. We picked the Spouting Horn because my husband’s grandparents used to come during the summers over the years, so when we had our family reunion it seemed like a fitting venue. I went with the chowder and, ugh. It was so, so THICK and heavy. No clams, no potatoes, no real flavor there. They said it was homemade, but I really doubt it. The bread they brought out was tasty. I did enjoy the deep dish pie, but I would skip this place the next time around. Also, the bathroom is «out of order»? Dark and dingy, needs a good deep clean and a facelift.

We come here every trip to the coast for Betty’s pies and one of the best Crab Louie Salads around. We love the retro vibe and the views of the harbor. Look for the photos on the wall of Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas when filming Cuckoo’s Nest. Do yourself a favor and stop here!

OK lunch for a reasonable price. 3 of us had fish sandwiches, and they were generous, soft, moist, and flaky. Very good. Crab and cheddar considered very good by the teenage boy. Coconut cream pie was great. View on harbor was great. Could benefit from replacing the old carpet with a hard floor.
