This place has the best Kani salad, hands down. I always get a Kani salad and shrimp tempura roll. I’ve also tried the Special California Roll and it was fantastic. It’s a nice little restaurant and i like how you can see your sushi being made. Also, not a bad price for All You Can Eat on sundays($ 23.95). The only reason they didn’t get five stars is because on more than one occasion, the staff has been kinda rude. Not blatantly, but more like inconvenienced that they have to wait on you.

Ate on the sushi side. The sushi was really good and was not too pricey. We will probably come back sometime!

Mt. Fuji is our new favorite place when we don’t feel like we want to cook(and that does not really happen lately besides some weekends). The hubs and I have been here a long, long time ago for the sushi and even before the place expanded, but don’t remember if the sushi was good or not. We love the hibachi here. Hibachi is always pricey(~$ 25), but so good and makes for great leftovers. Husband gets the filet mignon with scallops and I get filet mignon with salmon. Sometimes we get a shrimp or two from the chef. Hibachi comes with a small soup and salad. Sushi is a hit or miss, as are the appetizers. We tend to stick with just the good ol’ hibachi and always look forward to the«yum yum» sauce to dip everything in — is that weird? The«yum yum» sauce here tastes better than other hibachi places we have been to. If you like it as much as us, you’ll be excited to know that the salad comes with«yum yum» sauce as well. So happy to see that Mt. Fuji has expanded in this not-so-poppin’ plaza and seems to have very good business. Definitely one of the few places in our dinner rotation! P. S. Our baby daughter drools every time we go here, hehe. She will be thrilled to eat with us when she gets older!

If you like to wait over an hour for food, then this might be the place for you. And the food is only so-so.

I have had sushi all over the world, and this is the best sushi I have ever had. It is amazingly fresh, perfect portions, great specials… And the restaurant is clean, owners are friendly, service is great. If you haven’t tried this place you need to. You’ll never go anywhere else for sushi after dining here.

After a little miscommunication about what my Groupon was actually good for(apparently in the fine print you HAVE to order hibatchi, no sushi… which is what we all came for), Le Sigh. I conned my fiancé and young daughter into the 2 person hibatchi minimum while I proceeded to order and feast on what everyone truly wanted, sushi… one of the best rolls I ever ate, in fact, the millionaire roll. Served first, they patiently sat and side-eyed glared at me. I was impervious to their shade-throwing of the Irish Death Stare kind as I pushed log after log of sushi down my throat like a pelican as they were forced to watch their meal artfully prepared in piecemeal… meat last. I was long done my dinner, and had cast my gingerless rice rounds to my fiancé who had a look like he was either going to gnaw his arm off if he didn’t get fed soon or withhold sex from me for a week if I didn’t at least throw him a few pieces. So I did. Well, prehibatchi, I was doing the elitist, «You Hibatchi Suckas» dance in typical cabbage patch style, but as their meal was revealing itself, so was my chagrin, and I was forced to slow my sushi roll a little(no pun intended) as it unfurled. I then spent the next 20 minutes unabashedly flirting with my fiancé trying to score sharesies while silmultaneously praying to the patron saints of mothers, the blessed one herself, that my kid’s earlier tummyache hadn’t *quite* subsided and I’d get to polish off her leftovers before accepting my mother of the year award. But seriously… the stuff smelled THAT good. It’s Deptford for Chissakes, the chain-restaurant bible belt of South Jersey. I’m allowed to be surprised the food is excellent there. Anyway, allow me to explain the exquisite and overehelming crunch in the millionaire roll(we’re talking über-crunch)singlehandedly ranked it the BEST sushi roll I have ever eaten. And while I don’t swing that way, this girl loves her some raw fish, so take heed. BUT my sushi was quickly overshadowed by the sleeper hibatchi food master himself. To be honest, there seemed to be a lot more impressive fancy-handing than I’m used to which I was cock-sure was overcompensation for mediocre food(again, Deptford). WRONG. Even the multiple squirts of dark sauce that I thought for CERTAIN was oversalting and heavying the most perfectly-cooked meat imaginable… WRONG. What I managed to finagle from tummy-acher was fantastic. The rice was cooked until it was just a little oil-slick to keep it sticky with a bite of crunch. The noodles, while the slightly blander brothers of the rice, were the real stars to bring out the vegetables’ texture. There was squash, baby corn, mushrooms, carrot slices and tiny flourettes of broccoli. All were cooked perfectly… soft on the inside, but infused with some hibatchi candy crunch. I didn’t even know you could do that! Usually if vegetables are crisp, they’re undercooked and taste like grass. Must be soy/sugar mastery. I can only say it was nothing short of mild, flavorful perfection… as if all the salty/sweet/earthy flavors cancelled each other out and morphosed into a whole new.experience. We don’t do hibatchi often, but when we go, we plan on climbing Mt. Fuji!

The best! We’ve been going here for years and we’re so happy to see them expanding their business and thriving. They now started doing hibachi, too! But I haven’t made it over to just yet. Their rolls and salads both usually very generous. And I thoroughly enjoy their hot tea

Good stuff! Came in with a party of five. I got the maki combo which comes with miso soup and salad(fairly good, liked the tuna and avo roll), sister got crab ragoon & chicken katsu which also comes with miso and salad(crab ragoon was exceptionally good, katsu is as is), cousin got edamame & yakitori(yakitori is really good), other cousin got gyoza, and last cousin got the Phoenix roll & shrimp tempura(super amazing roll and shrimp is as you would expect). Finished off with red bean fried ice cream for the table, which was amazing! Overall, good atmosphere and experience. Can’t complain. We went on a weekday afternoons, so it wasn’t busy. Good service.

Extremely slow, took 15 minutes to as my party of 4 if we wanted something to drink. Also sat next to a table that the customer left as we sat down. They didn’t start clearing it out until 35 minutes later, 40 mark, our salad and soup came. … Table is still not fully cleared, lol? Okay.. the table got cleared, but it is now 50 minutes, the kid is complaining that she is hungry. I see many empty tables in there, it’s not like it was busy. Soup and salad are the usual that comes out after you order your meal. The soup is pretty much your standard miso, but salad dressing is overloaded with sugar. The special sushi rolls is plagued(perhaps blessed for some others) with almost everything with Wasabi mayo or masago. It also seems that the list is just a variation of perhaps 3 or 4 rolls. The food is mediocre. Only because this place is this close that I am here. I thought I would had been done with dinner within an hour.. but i was out after 1.75 hours. As i was walking out, another table was curious on how they can find some one to give them their bill.

I love this place! The sushi is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. They have all you can eat sushi on Mondays and it’s a great way to try some of their more unique or specialty rolls. The hibachi here is my favorite because it is so flavorful! This place is easily one of the best hibachi restaurants in the area. Everything is very clean and the staff is friendly. It is BYOB and can get kind of busy on the weekends. If you are in the area and craving sushi or hibachi I would recommend checking them out.

Awesome atmosphere! We had tons of sushi, which everyone agreed was the best! I’m pretty particular about fish, ate everything, and it was so delicious! We also did hibachi, which is super fun and entertaining. It’s a great place for social groups and big parties. It also offers BYO which is quite nice. We took 2 teenagers this time, but I’m looking forward to bringing a bottle and going with a group of friends next time

Surprisingly large, tasty and reasonable lunch specials. They run from 11 – 3 on Monday through Fridays. For the kitchen entrees(#1−10), you get your choice of soup or salad and main entrée plus a side dish of edamame, 2 pieces of gyoza(fried dumpling), a full size California roll and rice. It’s more generous than most places & a good deal for a $ 9 – 10 lunch at a sit-down restaurant. There are also lunch special soups and sushi available as well, but they only come with a salad or miso. The maki specials are nice though because it’s a choose your own adventure type. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy but welcoming and cozy. It’s strictly Japanese, not one of those Chinese/sushi hybrid spots that are so common these days. They also have hibachi tables that are open during dinner service. Adding in the fact they are BYOB with plenty of parking makes Mt Fuji worth the trip.

Decent food and reasonable prices. The atmosphere and friendly staff were what set this place above and beyond in terms of similar restaurants in the area. We went as a family(took my nephew and niece) and we all had a blast, especially the kids. The Chef performed all the classics(flaming onion volcano, egg tricks, etc.), and was very friendly, making the overall experience great. This is a great spot to take the family and kids.

I love this place. The sushi is always out of this world! Tonight I went there for the new hibachi part of the restaurant. I was not disappointed. The chef was friendly fast and the food was great! We ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. The portion size was more then expected. You get veggies, a pile of rice, noodles and the chicken and shrimp. The chicken and shrimp were both fresh and cooked to perfection. The whole staff is super friendly. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. Even though this hidden gem is tucked in a shopping center that has almost all the stores closed don’t let that scare you into not going here. It’s awesome, you will not be disappointed plus it’s byob.

I’ve passed by this place countless times in the neighborhood but never payed it mind. Last night i was craving some udon noodles and decided to check this place out for dinner. It was Monday night and the parking lot was icy and empty. The place was void of patrons, we were the only ones there around 8pm. When you walk in an empty place you always wonder what’s going on, why isn’t anyone here. No worries, it was just a quiet Monday night. There were constant customers picking up their orders. However, I don’t understand why another patron sat right behind our booth when she could’ve sat anywhere. The place feels older and homey. The bathroom is rundown but clean. The waitstaff was attentive but didn’t seem too friendly. I wasn’t charged for the green tea, 2nd refill was almost room temp, but 3rd was piping hot. The salad was ok but i hate that every Japanese place serve it cold. They need to stop making it ahead of time and fringing it. The wait for our entrees took longer than expected. All of a sudden i had a hankering for some udon. I never liked this thick noodle before. It was just always too slimy for me. Mt Fuji’s version was delicious. The broth was nice and hot served in a hot pot. The veggies tasted fresh. The Japanese pepper flakes added a nice kick to the broth. The noodles were perfect and not slimy at all. Only thing was this noodle is very filling. I almost forgot i had the tempura veggies and shrimp. The panko breading was on point. I didn’t want the tempura to get soggy in the broth so i just dipped it in the tempura dipping sauce. My meal was just way to filling that i ended up bringing home the rest of my udon and couple pieces of the tempura. I literally have enough to make a small meal at home. B got the bento box with chicken teriyaki. No portion of the box was left untouched. It was quite filling and tasty he mentioned. There were no complaints on his part. My udon was $ 13 and B’s bento was $ 20. It was a satisfying meal. We even had a coupon but decided not to use it. I’d say this is another small gem in town. This Mt Fuji beats the one in Haddonfield, simple and satisfying.

This place should be more popular – probably the best sushi in the area at this price point. I’ve paid more at Tokyo right up the street by the Deptford mall for lesser sushi. I ordered the regular sashimi dinner, and the fish was good, so that’s a good sign there(bad sushi places will often have a bad«old» taste to their fish, but cover it up with tons of rice and sauces in their rolls). The side bowl of rice that came with my order was a tad dry, but I’ll let that slide since I was more focused on the fish. Friends ordered rolls and were very pleased. They also offer an all-you-can-eat table service for made-to-order sushi on Sundays, which we will be sure to check out now that we approve of their food. This has become our new local sushi place.
