Really sad to hear this location closed. The people who worked here were very friendly and I hope they will be able to find work. The food wasn’t amazing but from time to time they would have things that were pretty tasty. At least it was clean and you could get your moneys worth here. I live at the Jersey Shore and my girlfriend and I would come here a lot just for a fun roadtrip for something to do, a lot of fun memories stopping here after trips to Philly or what not. A shame they didn’t keep this one open, looks like we’ll be headed to the Hometown Buffet in Edison until that one closes too… RIPOCB

It’s closed but there is another location that is in Vineland/Millville NJ on route 47 that thrives.

Are you complainers all happy now because I just got an e-mail that they closed the location. There was nothing wrong with food. As far as people saying it was too expensive your wrong. Go to any diner, Applebees, Fridays, Chili’s and see what it cost for a salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Your not walking out of there for under $ 20 and that doesn’t include a tip. At Old Country I usually ate a salad, fried chicken breast or meatloaf and vegetables with a beverage and desert. The food was usually fresh. The steamed corn, string beans and carrots were very good. No creams, sauces or additives. This Old Country wasn’t as good as the one that used to be on Rt 70 in Cherry Hill. They broiled the steaks right in front of you when they had steak night. You go to the midwest and Old Country Buffet and Golden Corral are thriving. In NJ everyone thinks dinner is going to McDonald’s. Your better off just ingesting a salt shaker. Now the closest Old Country is in Edison, NJ or across the river in Philadelphia. It’s sad that people didn’t support a reasonably priced buffet.

We visit OCB about once a month with my 10 year old. The service is always good, they are relatively quick to clear your plates. The quality of the food is hit or miss, it could be hotter. There also could be more of a selection more often. Sometimes the food is not as fresh as it should or could be. The employees are very friendly and usually quick to help. I agree with other patrons, it’s kind of pricy now for a family buffet. Overall a clean comfortable experience.

This restaurant has the same menu over-and-over again. Nothing ever seems to change. My son normally likes chicken nuggets and french fries. Here they are dry and tasteless. I have eaten their chicken breasts which are too dry and with too much gristle. The price is WAYTOOHIGH! I mean for my two sons and I you are talking over $ 40.00 with 3 meals, 3 drinks and tax. I could go to a better restaurant and pay the same amount. Plus, going to McDonald’s for nuggets and fries would cost a but UNDER $ 20! A far cry fro $ 40. When you are a single dad on a budget you look for bargains. You are NOT going to get a bargain at Old Country Buffet! Plus, the quality of their food is over-rated; unfortunately, it’s just not that good.

A yea… I think I’m going to throw up. We went to Old Country Buffet today for dinner because he sent a coupon in the mail, next time I’ll eat the coupon. I barely finish one small plate of food and I felt like my stomach is going to explode. I am normally a big eater and I have not had anything to eat all day before going in. I would bet good money there is something in there food, to make you feel full.

Terrible! I guess the time has passed for these types of places. Lukewarm everything & the dessert buffet was messy. Never again! Went because the kids wanted to go.

I hate buffets. I would always don’t want to eat at many of those disgusting places. During my schools overnight trip to Philly, our grade went to old country buffet. Now, why are WE here? Now we were suppose to go to a Cheese stake house but it was canceled since many of our«vegetarian» teachers did not like the fact it only served«meat». So we went here. It would be actually a bit more smart to check reviews on Unilocal before sending a group of kids to a crappy restaurant. This buffet first off, does not have good choices, they only serve processed stake, chicken, and a small amount of veggies. That is very bad for a lot vegetarians out there. The plates were dirty, same thing with the cups. Now the food, in school, all our teachers mention how fast food is «bad» for our nutrition. But they took us here that SERVES this type of food. Wow, I never ate bad food before but after visiting this place I ate it. The FOODISBLOODYHORRIBLE! The chicken is fried and processed, same with the stake, meat, and fries. Now, the price… look at other reviews to get an idea. Old country is bad idea of a place to eat food. If you are a teacher and you are planing a trip to Philly, don’t go HERE. None of kids won’t enjoy the place at all. Go to a restaurant that has good ratings, not here.

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. I was optimistic at first when I saw many serving stations until I realized(unfortunately after paying) that they’re just using mirrors on the wall to make it look like there’s more selection. For my first dish I picked up a riblette, some meat loaf, mac&cheese, and some corn. I tried unsuccessfully to cut into the riblette from several angles until success, I cut it! Unfortunately it was not at all apparent where any actual meat was. Discouraged, I turned to the meatloaf with some trepidation. The meatloaf was dry and not very good. I set that aside and turned to the mac&cheese which was quite runny and also did not taste good at all. No complaints about the corn really. I took another look through their limited selection and couldn’t find anything else appealing. Disappointed, I just left. I can say I will never go back to one of these restaurants again. I would only recommend this place for infants and animals without any discerning tastes for food.

Stopped here after a trip to Adventure Aquarium on Sunday. The food was not very good, the service was ok(they did manage to clear most plates pretty quickly). Nothing was labeled, which makes it difficult for the people who have allergies and the selection was very limited. We will be sticking with Golden Corral from now on!

Came here again because they sent me a buy one entrée get one free coupon for my birthday, and I cannot let a good coupon go to waste. They have been advertising real sirloin steak for dinner recently so we figured we would give it a shot. I was surprised, the steak was done medium with a light pink center. Seasoned nicely, not too salty. It was still warm too. If I had one complaint, it was the amount of fat and gristle throughout. I added some fried shrimp, a baked potato, and a salad from the salad bar and I had my meal. Ended it with a fresh and tasty piece of carrot cake. I did not go overboard with extra helpings of anything this time. I just wanted a good dinner. My wife had a similar dinner and she tried a cup of cream of broccoli soup even though I warned her the soup was horrible last time. She said hers was good. Not sure it was worth 16.99 I paid for the one dinner with beverage, but I can’t complain since we got a freebie with it.

This is the closest I’ve ever come to living in an episode of The Twilight Zone. Walking into this restaurant felt like walking into another world. A world where everybody was a little bit sadder and a little bit slower. Where the dead-eyed patrons were content to chew joylessly upon room-temperature«food» that was designed not for quality, but rather for the purpose of providing a high volume at a low cost. I tried my best to find some hidden treasure among all the miserable options, but to no avail. Even the taco shells were all broken, likely by some of the unattended children roving the aisles. Which was just as well because the taco meat was something I lacked the bravery to sample. The best edible substance I could find was the chicken fingers(and other bar food such as jalapeño poppers), and that is likely because they were pre-cooked at another facility and thrown right from the freezer into the frier. They were TV-Dinner quality, so I guess this establishment does have at least a few mediocre selections to round out their otherwise disgusting feeding trough.

How have I not reviewed this place yet?! Thursday and Saturday nights = BBQ night! That means BBQ beef ribs, BBQ chicken, corn bread, slices of ham, steak, and … I dunno, I normally just go for the BBQ beef ribs… A good amount of selection. The servers are nice(please don’t forget to tip), and it’s best to wait for a new tray of hot food before digging in and snatching a few delicious ribs. The chicken is hit or miss(sometimes overcooked). However, the mashed potato is quite consistent. The last time I was there, they were having trouble with their ice-machine(trouble = no ice available), but the soft serve ice-cream is good(and a better option than the other«desserts» that are just left out). Slight discount for senior citizens, but overall, ~$ 15 per person for all you can eat.

This Old Country Buffet is in a strip mall off Route 41. They have a separate section of the parking lot but if necessary, parked cars can spill over to the rest of the strip mall parking lot. One thing I found a little odd about OCB pricing is they now split the buffet and beverage into two separate charges. I suspect they did that so they can claim that breakfast is only $ 4.99, when in fact, most people add the beverage bar for an additional $ 1.99. The food at this OCB is average for the buffet chain. They have what I like: the fried fish, the steamed veggies, the stir fried foods. However, the pulled pork and meatloaf were dry and have probably been under that heat lamp too long. Also, the soup had coagulated and so I didn’t want to try that. The beverage bar is pretty good, as always. Have some chocolate milk. Given how much that typically sells for at the grocery store, that’s probably your best value. Service was done well this evening. I just thought that at 8:30pm, this restaurant closed a bit too early for my liking. The dining area and restroom seemed clean enough. No obvious issues there.
