Phở is my new favorite. I loved the staff too! Very friendly and helpful!

Living in Iowa City, I love trying the variety of Asian cuisine in Des Moines when I am here. This was my first time here and I ordered the red curry Panang. It was stellar! The veggies were cooked to perfection with the slightly sweet coconut curry sauce coating a perfectly chewy tofu along with white rice. Tasty tasty! I didn’t love the summer rolls as the sauce wasn’t my favorite.(I’m a fan of the creamy peanut sauce) and the boba smoothie was a little too icy for my picky taste, but my entrée was awesome to keep me returning! Service was nice and food presentation was lovely.

Ordered spring rolls and a large steak and meatball Phở. It didn’t take me long to realize this was going to be my favorite Phở place in town. The lady that was serving me was very nice AND spoke perfect English. Not to mention the restaurant was clean. Very rare for a Vietnamese restaurant. So awesome service aside, my spring rolls that I got for appetizer were best I have had. They included more vegetables than traditional ones I’m used to and were packed with flavor. Sauce wasn’t the usual peanut sauce but something with fish sauce and tasted awesome. Everything was super fresh. Then my phở came with a side dish of bean sprouts and others veggies. Again, the greens were bright green and the sprouts were super white. Phở tasted very clean. What I mean by that is it didn’t taste like they dumped a bunch of chemicals in it to make it taste good. Broth was super clear and had a good amount of noodles and beef. The menu also had lots of other Asian dishes that were not just Vietnamese. I would have ordered more if I had two stomachs. I will definitely be back again. Great service, fair prices, and awesome food. And English speaking service with a smile. 5 stars!!!

Love the chix phở!!! And best crab rangoon! Mango sticky rice was great and son loved Chix fried rice. Everything is very fresh and delicious. Small clean place. The owner is very friendly and attentive.

Great flavors, but honestly a little overpriced. We ordered the summer rolls, shrimp spring rolls, green papaya salad, and chicken pad thai. Though everything tasted good, the portions were very small and nothing tasted extra ordinary.

There is nothing like the pad thai you get here, but be careful. Too many stars on the heat index will have you crying for your mommy, it won’t stop you from trying to suffer through eating it though. The crab rangoon here are the best in the city in my opinion, creamy but not too sweet. I would also recommend the drunken noodles. Great dish too. Again watch the heat. I never go over two stars on anything.

Ask for the bacon rangoon! Love their pad thai with the tofu and veggies combo. Great assortment of vegetables, too.

It took about an hour for our food to come to our table. And when it did, my plate wasn’t there. After another 10 minutes of waiting, the waitress came back and asked me what I ordered. She did this one more time before my plate finally arrived(everyone at the table was finished eating). The food was excellent, but it was a shame I had to eat it so quickly as we were on a tight schedule.

As many of you may have experienced, Des Moines is not exactly crawling with options for good Asian food. As transplants from California, there are a few things we miss dearly: Phở Ramen Indian food While we have yet to find ramen or Indian food that hit the spot, we tried Café Fusion for the first time last weekend and now have a go-to Phở spot! The phở at this place is DELICIOUS. (If you have recs for Indian or ramen, please send them over!!) We also ordered a few other items that we weren’t as impressed with: Egg rolls — good, but Vietnamese egg rolls usually come with lettuce to wrap them in. These did not, however we’ll still order them again(along with phở). Fresh rolls — won’t order again. They were lackluster, and were not served with the normal creamy peanut sauce that we’re used to. Drunken noodle and massuman curry — won’t order again. Not bad, just missing that quintessential Thai flavor. Bottom line: the phở is killer and we’ll be back for more!

A little hole in the wall find. Very clean inside, but dimly lit. The owner is super nice. They weren’t too great at filling water, even though it wasn’t busy, but that was really the only service flaw. The flavors of their dishes are great! I ordered pad see ew with tofu and veggies — I was hoping for a little more noodles(it didn’t have much), but it came loaded with veggies and tofu. It was a lot more saucy than I was used to, but it was very tasty — a perfect combo of sweet and salty.

This is the best Thai place I’ve tried in the metro. The prices are very low and very generous portions for the prices. I’ll admit I’m not the most adventurous person at Thai restaurants, but I love pad Thai and I see no reason get much else. I’ve found their pad Thai here to be the best, and one of the employees told me it has to do with preparing certain parts of the seasonings over 24 hours in advance which gives it a richer flavor. One note here is that I find there 1 – 5 star spice meter to be hotter then most other places I’ve had. A three here is much more like a 4 most other places. I’ve never had any problems with the service, and the food is very fast.

I say this is the place for the best thai food in the city. I get 0 stars pad thai with chicken and is creamy and delicious. I also get crab rangoon with sweet chili sauce and egg rolls. It’s fast, cheap, and delicious!

Heard about Café Fuzion from a good friend and decided to check it out. Two words: So delicious! We ordered crab Rangoon and they were hot and creamy. Gotta love hot crab Rangoons. Next I ordered Chicken Drunken Noodles at a spice level 3 and my hubby ordered phở. If you havent ever tried drunken noodles, do it. My favorite parts of the meal were how crunchy the veggies were and the wide rice noodles. They have a good diverse menu from curries, stir frys and phở! There is something for everyone!

This place is GOOD. Don’t let the atmosphere worry you. I have never had tofu cooked this way before. It’s perfectly crisp on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. I would go here just to fill up on their appetizers. The service is great as well. It also seemed like there were lots of regulars the first time I tried the place out, which is always a good sign. I will be back for sure!

This is my FAVORITE place in Des Moines! Not only are the staff super friendly and excited to see you, every time, but the food is absolutely amazing for the cheap prices. The spring rolls are amazing, the yellow curry is the best I’ve ever had, the spring rolls are delicious, obviously made with care, and come with the most amazing sweet and spicy sauce. The phở is delicious, and I finish every drop every time. They have fried rice dishes(my favorite is the mango, with chicken!) They have this fabulous $ 4 desert that’s real vanilla bean ice cream on pineapple rice that you absolutely MUST try. It’s a light, delicious finish to a great meal. Seriously, I could go on and on about this awesome little place. The service, food, and prices are way better than competition nearby. :-) Seriously, stop in. Bring your friends. It’ll be a delicious and cheap experience!

I have been here several times and I have thoroughly enjoyed each visit! Granted, I have always ordered the steak phở with a Thai iced tea, but it had been delicious every time. The staff is always attentive and very friendly. Delicious food at a very affordable price! I highly encourage everyone to try this restaurant.

Restaurants serve as a major form of entertainment for me and my friends. Its standard fare to hit an old favorite or something new over the weekend. Yesterday afternoon I was a bit lost to see in a text«Café Fuzion at 7pm». «Where?» was my reply. «Its next to Thai Flavors(old staple for us).» I arrived a little early as it was snowing at a good clip and I didn’t want to be late. There were a few tables occupied during this blustery winter day. Café Fuzion was decorated nicely and well organized. I’d say a total of 20 tables exist. The entrance has very decorated, elaborate asian wall panels, ceiling tiles were with images, and little drops of modern design were in the mix with some small mirrors on the wall. The walls are bright red. The impression I felt was one of different and more attentive thinking than the typical place which matched the name. The staff was prompt and attentive and helped put a few table together for the group. There was a «seat yourself» sign. As my friends arrived with beer and wine in hand it was obvious they had a BYOB policy and none for sale. Appetizers were solid. Wings had a special secret sauce. They were spicy and sweek Fresh rolls were big and good. As we would learn later the menu has similar inspiration to a Nut Pab. There were Vietnamese specialties including Phở, Laotian common dishes like Lapp, and there were a full list of Thai specialties as well. My main dish is one that I’ve commonly ordered at a number of Thai places, Basil Chicken. This dish was had more of a sauce but was flavorful and fresh. It was definitely different and savory in its own way. 3 – 5 spice didn’t send me off the table or under spice me. Other dishes that came out around the table were in similar flair. The Lapp was as good as there is around. Tom Yum soup was devoured. Furisous(not only angry but …) Chicken was not super hot but also flavorful. Sticky Rice helped fill the belles of a few. The Pad Thai was enjoyed even by the children. After some conversation with the small staff and learning more about their backgrounds and ideas, we had some deserts to share. They were of common ingredients but still with the Café Fuzion flair. There was a wonton wrapped and fried banana with ice cream and a purple sweet sticky rice with a fruity salad on top. Overall this was a very good experience and we’ll be back to try other items. This is a place where the enthusiastic staff can lead you to authentically prepared Southeast Asian food with twist of Fuzion.

Great place for Thai food in Des Moines. The location features a quiet and calm dining experience with a soothing atmosphere. The restaurant is small, but you get more personal attention from the friendly staff. The food is great, there is nothing in particular that stands out to me on the menu or quality of food. I always see people coming in to pick up their takeout orders, which is a clear sign how good their food is. I never had a bad experience here.

I don’t know how to start off this review other than being blunt. The first time I had Thai food in Des Moines, it was garbage. I can’t remember where I got it from, unfortunately; I just remember how mad I was that someone could royally screw up paid thai. Fast forward to a few months and I’m back in Des Moines again and craving Asian food like crazy. Either my expectations for Asian food in Iowa have lowered significantly or Café Fuzion is a solid choice. I’ll go with the latter since I’m a glass half full kind of person. The crab rangoons were surprisingly good. I liked the flavors of the phở and my pad thai was actually yummy! My boyfriend complained that the large bowl of phở didn’t fill him up. I have to agree with him a little bit. The servings are slightly on the smaller side. Still enjoyed my food though. I’ll definitely be back.

Realy great Phở. Perfect for a cold spring day. Stopped by today for lunch with my kids. We ordered the steak phở(phở tai) and my kids ordered a kids steak phở and a kids chicken lo mein. I love that they have a kids menu that offers smaller servings of their great asian cuisine. The phở broth was clear and flavorful. They brought all the traditional accompaniments(lime, bean sprouts, herbs, hoisin, fish sauce, chili and garlic paste). You could really enjoy the phở on its own without any accompaniments. The broth is that good. The kids phở is basically a small order of the regular phở, my sons loved the phở. My daughter(a noriously picky eater) loved her chicken lo mein. We also ordered the dynamite wings, they were sweet and spicy, sticky, and crunchy. Absolutely amazing. I love this place, it was our first time here but I am sure that I will bring the family back many times. Very family friendly and nice family atmosphere.
