Long story. Last August(?) I drove thru and bought a chicken sandwich, when I got home I noticed it only had two small slices of chicken breast on it. I called the DQ and they offered to make it right. Good. So I go back a few weeks later, went inside this time, asked for my free replacement sandwich and was surprised to see the food prep person handling the food with bare hands and not gloves. At that time I thought it was an Iowa state law that food preparation must be only done while wearing sanitary food prep gloves.(And maybe it is a law, I dunno.) I was put off by my perceived lack of sanitation so I told the girl stop making the replacement sammy and left. I did locate the«Contact Us» page on the DQ corporate website and logged my dissatisfaction. The website stated that they would forward my concern to the franchise owner and that the owner would contact me. NOTHINGHAPPENED. So today I stop in out of curiosity and the owner happened to be working. I explained what happened and she was put off that I had contacted the corporate office instead of her directly and that since the sandwiches are«seasonal», she could not do anything for me.(How about a complimentary Dilly Bar?) In fact she stated that she never received the message that I posted on DQ’s corporate website. She was getting a bit snippy with me as well. All in all too bad. I have been going to this DQ for as long as I can remember — possibly over 35 years. No more. Not even for a Dilly Bar. The Urbandale & Johnston DQ’s aren’t that far of a drive. Just need to make sure that they aren’t owned/operated by the same people who run the 5415 Douglas location. Btw, it needs a good scrubbing as well.

Sometimes when you want a sweet, cold treat… Dairy Queen is the place to go. Especially when you want a Blizzard! There are many flavor combinations, so everyone should be able to come up with something they like. I’m a fan of peanut butter, so the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard is my go to flavor. There were plenty of broken peanut butter cups mixed in the thick ice cream, so I was a happy camper.
