Green Acres Learning Center

My older son went here for several years, and now my younger is here. In general, it’s a solid operation with caring and attentive administrative staff. The teachers have always seemed friendly and caring as well. My child has gotten injury reports, including bites, but staff is quick to let me know, and I feel it’s part of the turf when a child is in daycare.

I was going to choose not to review the daycare, but I will because it was my child that was dropped that was referenced in the previous review. I will be the 1^st person to tell you that it was truly an accident and Ms. Debbie is an amazing caretaker. We loved her!!! All the ladies in the infant room Ms. Debbie, Ms. Gayla, Ms. Cassandra, and Ms. Donna were absolutely cared for our little one like family. Ms. Val who does all the lunches was also so caring and genuinely cared for my baby girl. We loved them so much they were all invited to our baby girls 1^st bday and we were honored to have them there. I give them 5 stars!!!
Now the next room had its challenges, that is why I give it 3 stars.

BEWARE! If there was a way I could give –5 stars I would… My Son was enrolled in Green Acres for a little less than a year. Things we’re OK when he was in the baby room minus a few small issues and another child being DROPPED ON HER FACE outside by a teacher (Debbie) but, as soon as he transitioned the 1 year old room things QUICKLY went downhill. In the 9 days he was enrolled in the Polliwog room he was sent home with 5 injury reports. He was pushed to the ground once, He «fell» twice resulting in a busted lip and then his tooth going through his lip. He was also bitten twice. Once on the hand/​fingers and the final straw was when he was bit in the face by one his «friends in his class» resulting a HUGE bruise on his right cheek. This happened at 3:00pm and no one bothered to call me and alert me that something had happened to my child. When I came and picked him up his teacher (Tanya) was holding him and handed him to me and never mentioned that he’d been hurt. When I put his coat on I noticed the giant mark on his face and asked the teacher what happened and she responded by saying «we have 2 biters in the class but, they are going to be transitioning soon». I asked again what happened and she said that if I wanted anymore information I would need to talk to the director, Sharon. I called the following day and spoke with Sharon and explained my concern and told her that I was not able to get an answer as to what happened from Tanya (the teacher) and how uncomfortable I was with leaving my Son in their care without anyone being able to tell me what was going on. Sharon and I were on the phone for about 15 minutes and never once did she apologize for what happened but, instead she asked me over and over what I wanted her to do. She did tell me that she reviewed the tapes from the polliwog room and after seeing them she thinks that «some staffing changes need to be made». Prior to the phone call I had already made the decision to remove my Son from their establishment. I showed up that same day to take his belongings from his class room and they were already packed up for me. This place is a JOKE! They don’t have any concern for the children all they are after is money. BEWARE!!!

my daughter’s arm was pulled out of her socket by one of the staff and no one wanted to fess up to something that may have been an accident. Sharon Prendergast has an awful attitude and defended her staff. She even began to retaliate against myself and daughter for me reporting them to cps. She would hang up on my face when I called to check on my child, told me I’d wouldn’t bee able to find another childcare facility when I stated I was disenrolling her. Also Vanessa in the toddler room is very rude to parents when picking up and dropping off their children. This place is a daycare nightmare. Filled with unprofessional, and physical staff.
