Nothing fancy but great food. Stick with the coney and beef burgers. I don’t know what they put in there cole slaw but it’s worth getting the basket. Onion rings are great fries are good to average depending the time, you get there humidity no clue really haven’t nailed that down. While the gyro and Greek salad aren’t bad I’d say head to ted coney island for those on ingersoll, but ted coney isn’t even close on the coneys. Jims is the place fore that who can deny a coney and a beer

I’ve off and on gone to Jim’s as a child but I just went back as an adult. I went to a wedding near by and I was allergic to all of the food. A very dairy heavy wedding. I called in an order to pick up and the women on the line was very busy and asked me to please hold on the line. I was on hold about two minutes but she was very apologetic and thanked me for my patience, which I always appreciate. She stated my sandwich basket would be ready on 10 minutes. I walked over and the staff was very friendly. I explained I was just going to eat it outside before I go back the wedding and she stated,“can I get you a drink so you have something to wash your meal down with?“ Very helpful, professional, friendly staff plus the food was pretty good! Cost was around 9 $ and it fed me twice! Great price for two meals! I didn’t get to experience the restaurant so I can’t rate it that way. Once I do I will update my review. I gave Jim’s 3 stars for great customer, service, phone etiquette, quick order and pick up. The pork tenderloin and fries were good but not the most amazing one I’ve ever had but I left satisfied and it was a great price! Great southside fast food dive!

Worst Coneys I have ever had. Luke warm cheap hot dog with runny chili sauce that cost $ 7 for two of them. I have had better coney’s from a can of hormel chili & oscar mayer at my house. The search for Des Moines’ best coney continues and I will not be back to Jim’s again.
