I’ve been here twice now and both times it has been a great experience. The food was great and the coffee was delicious. It’s a cute and small coffee shop. The ladies working are nice and friendly. Definitely will come back if I’m out this way again.

I order a Blended mocha here… one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile. Interior looks interesting… definitely want to come back for breakfast.

Everything is good. Best breakfast sandwich, chai tea and coffee I’ve had in the seattle area. Service and décor is classy and comfortable. Most staff is nice. Sometimes long wait.

I have been a customer here for about three years now. My first review, and experiences were a far cry from what they are now. I have seen bigger improvements in the service, offerings, and management. There are still a few tweaks remaining on staffing, but overall I like this place for morning coffee, and crepes. And their coffee is the best I have found in the area. The house roast is what I buy for my home. The food is very good, the paninis and wraps are fantastic. The vibe is very comfortable and homey. It is a great place to chill.

Not impressed with this place. My husband and I were looking for a coffee place. Since we are just visitng, we went by the Unilocal reviews. Waited for a TOGOCOFFEE for 40MINUTES!!! Service was not even good. Sorry but I just had to vent.

I read the bad reviews but gave it a chance anyway, especially since it was the closest coffee shop and I was in much need of caffeine. Unfortunately I have to agree with some previous folks. The grill was covered in large pieces of previous sandwiches that had stuck to it and someone had left all the bread from their sandwiches on a plate, half of which were seriously burnt. To add to this the service was really slow and girl at the counter never cracked a smile, the tables are all dirty, and they had no cups out for water. I understand they are busy but hire someone else. The 2 girls were making all the drinks and the food. Luckily my English muffin survived and was not burnt.

I came in with pretty Low expectations and was still disappointed. I really wanted to like this place as it serves one of my favorite foods, crepes, and its local. Here’s the deal. The service was okay until the girls all huddled in the back laughing at a video on their phones. The crepes were both horribly over cooked. We got a basic nutella and banana crêpe and it was burnt to a crisp on the bottom, and i dont mean just a little cripy either. I couldnt even cut through it in some areas because of the burnt nutella mixture. My boyfriend got a bubble tea and I thought they’d make up for it there. but the tapioca wasn’t softened enough and the flavor was all syrup. Last thing was how they collect dishes. You scrape your own plate and put it in the wash bin. It seems they should have enough time to collect their own dishes as there was multiple girls just standing around. AND my cup was cracked. Enough that it shouldve been thrown out. They shiuldve thrown the cup out. The only good thing was my hot chocolate. And honestly im sad to say it didnt make up for the crepes. I guess I learned my lesson, dont try something new on your birthday!

I really don’t know how to rate this place bcuz some girls who work has a major attitude towards costumers and some are very sweet. And the food and drinks that I’ve had so far is good :) Also liked how they had they’re own cute plates for here to eat till today when my friend had a latte for here and the cup was cracked(RIGHTWHEREUSCOSTOMERSSIPTHEDRINKS) and we’re talking pretty big crack not those small ones. Like what if someone didn’t notice it and sipped it from the place where it’s cracked??? But my friend and I both were able to notice it so the workers here are able to notice it as well. but I guess they didn’t care about that. I would just say the food and drinks are good, other than that my image for this store just gone down hill from today’s experience. PLSWATCHURCUPSBEFORE U DRINK!

My go to coffee shop when I’m in Des Moines This place has good food and drinks. The workers are friendly and helpful. I always come here for my Des Moines meetings and it is always a nice place to be. This last time I went I enjoyed the cozy fire since it was so cold outside.

I’ve been here twice for their crepes and they never disappoint! The first time I came here, my boyfriend and I got lost because it was our first time to eat in Des Moines. He has a cousin that lives in the area, but barely drives up to see him due to busy schedules. Marine View Espresso has really good crepes and their interior is really cute and has that modern vibe. Their crepes are on a decent price, especially their Banana Nutella crepes and if you go elsewhere, there will be some that’s in the range of $ 10, at Marine View it’s about $ 5-$ 6. I’m definitely coming back to try their coffees and more crepes they offer!

My husband and I wanted to stop by a little breakfast spot before we ran out errands and stumbled upon this espresso place. The décor has a vintage kind of feel, which I enjoyed. We had the panini seasonal grilled cheese, smoked salmon crêpe and a caramel macchiato. Everything was so good and my husband was really pleased with our orders. The caramel macchiato was leaning on the sweet side, which isn’t bad I liked it a lot. I’m more of a person that likes my coffee on the bitter side, so ad a shot of espresso.

OMG! This place is marvelous! From atmosphere to service to food and beverage … Simply A++! I had smoked salmon crêpe and chai latte with almond milk. My friend went opposite and had strawberry nutella crêpe and an americano. We sat on a comfy Victorian style couch in front of the ornate fireplace. First sip of my latte and I was hooked! So impressed with the creamy dreamy texture and vanilla Marshmallow sensation… Yummmy! My friend loved it too and ordered herself one after she had finished her drink. The crêpe was a perfect blend of salmon, pesto, veggies, and cheese and was delicious … Every bite. I share some with Natalia and she was equally impressed. Go here!

Coffee: HORRIBLE Food: GREAT Cute spot to come and study at but terrible for coffee. Every time I have come here for a coffee the barista puts SO much cream/milk in that the coffee is non existent. I want to support a local business but I’d rather go to Starbucks and get a coffee that I know will taste like coffee! Not to mention, the prices are the same… I can officially say that in terms of coffee, I am taking Marine View OFF of my list. ASFORFOOD, the crepes are amazing and so are the sandwiches!!! For that I can’t give this place below a 2.

What a cute coffee shop. I love the décor, from the stained glass chandeliers to the vintage sofa. I also like that they use real cups and plates, makes it feel like home. I decided to go with the House Special Espresso and Breakfast Panini. The panini was served on a Rosemary focaccia bread, very fragrant and tasty. The coffee was lightly sweetened and had a pretty design on top. Can’t wait to come back, I’ve already decided to have crêpe and bubble tea! There is one thing that would have made it a better experience — ventilation; the panini aroma followed me home.

Decided to try something new around the area and glad we decided to give this place a try! I got the meaty wrap and the hubby got the smoked salmon crêpe, we were both happy with our order. My wrap had 3 or 4 different meats in it and was only 5.95! Will definitely be back for brunch on the weekends with the family! Side note: wasn’t a fan of their bubble tea

I have visited this location many times over the past two years, and I have observed a decline of both service and food quality. First of all the service is horrible, very unhappy people behind the counter that appear to see customer service as a nuisance, and beneath them. It takes more than 20min to get your coffee, and even longer for crepes. By the time your over cooked crêpe comes you are done with your coffee that was brought to your table by an annoyed server. I am sad to see this place go downhill, because it used to be great. I feel that the only way to stop this place from completely destroying your morning is for the owner to restaff and retrain. This place urgently needs better skilled and happier baristas, and cooks who know how to properly prepare a crêpe that doesn’t turn out like a cracker.

Last time I was here, I was a little underwhelmed by the salmon crêpe. This time, I was going to go with ham & cheese again. My mom and I got here at 5:20. The first thing the barista said to us was, «Just so you know, the crêpe griddles are off for the night.» I said, «Oh, so no crepes, then?» And she replied, «No. I’m kind of new, so I turned them off early.» I asked what time they closed, and she said 6:00. When all you serve is crepes, sandwiches, and drinks, you would think you wouldn’t stop making crepes 40 minutes before closing time. I planned my entire night around these crepes, and it’s tough to find a place that serves savory crepes for dinner on short notice. I had somewhere I needed to be, but I was able to get to Pearls Tea & Coffee in Seattle just in the nick of time, and that’s where I’ll be going from now on.

Sad because I really wanted to become a regular here… It took 32 minutes for me to get my drink, and when I did it wasn’t even filled to the top. I ordered the fresh mixed berry boba smoothie. I asked her why and she said«it makes a big difference when you don’t order it with sugar.» Really? So you leave a ¼ gap?
