Ultimate Exposure

Not the cleanest. I hate seeing hand prints on the tanning beds. I use to work at a tanning place and I know that if you see handprints then the beds are not being cleaned properly. As for the standing bed, the bulbs are way too weak. That actually goes for the lay down beds as well. I don’t know why tanning salons don’t get that taken care of. Maybe it costs too much money but people don’t want to tan somewhere with weak bulbs. It’s time to upgrade bulbs guys! Tanning salons are generally the same price so you can definitely find a place with at least some average bulbs.
As for the staff, it’s a hit or miss. Some are nice others are short and seem like they don’t want to be bothered. Makes me feel like I’m totally interrupting their day.
Overall, this place is like that dive bar down the street where you know there is a great possibility you may leave with a staph infection.

This was the worst Ultimate Exposure I have ever been to. I came here a couple of time and I was never truly pleased. The staff is very rude and not friendly what so ever. They ripped me off and my, package deal, by saying that I do not have unlimited tans, when I literally pay for the entire package monthly. I usually go on Clark St., and I never had a bad experience.
First of all the staff on Clark is very friendly and they have amazing service. They usually have great deals, and they always upgrade to the newest brands. I spoke with the workers at Des Plaines and they said they are keeping their old spray tan brand and won’t upgrade… Clark upgraded to a scent-​less brand of spray tan months ago. Des Plaines rarely even upgrades their bulbs and beds!
All in all… I do not recommend this location AT ALL. I have been an Ultimate member for years now, and I have never been this disappointed.

I bought a Groupon for their facility in Buffalo Grove. I upgraded to a package which was to be used on any bed. Never was there a mention of an expiration of the upgrade. Well, I went to the BG location and found that they are closed. Since the girl that sold me the upgrade said I could use my tans at any of their facilities, I found the one in Des Plaines. Upon arrival was told that my package was expired and that she could give me the $ 49.95 credit, but it all had to be used on that one visit. The bed she recommended was $ 27 and the package of lotion was 6.50, which in her math added up to the $ 49.95.
The face tanner on the bed she recommended didn’t work. When I told her about it, she said, «It has new bulbs; it definitely worked.» I asked her how much she owed me, figuring she could give me another packet or two of the outrageously expensive lotions. She said, «You’ve used the whole credit.»
The ONLY reason they got 2 stars is that she was very polite, sweet and really pretty!
I have been ripped off for $ 80 for 4 tans!

I have gotten two spray tans from here and am overall impressed! Previous to this I have never been spray tanning. One of the reasons Ultimate Exposure got my attention was because it was inexpensive compared to a lot of places. On Sundays, they have $ 10 spray tan special. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. I did learn that the sprayers are a little older compared to others but I’ve never been to any other salons so I can’t compare. The last two spray tans I got I have received I’ve been happy with!
