Worst service for checking back at a table I’ve ever received at a Cracker Barrel across the entire United States. No refill, long-long-long wait for follow up. I love Cracker Barrel, but this location is now officially off my list of a return visit.

First time eating here. I was not disappointed but not too interested in returning because the food was nothing special or different. Not to mention the waitress we had stole my sons expensive Jordan jacket after accidentally leaving it on the back of his seat. We go back & just gone! $ 90 jacket gone for a meal that was about $ 30.

First off, I have been here a few times now even before I started on Unilocal, every time it’s the same thing at this location in De Soto. For awhile I held back on tongue but after tonight I can no longer do so. I am giving this place three place stars not because of the food. The food is always good and hot and delicious. But ITISTHESERVICE! every time I come here the service sucks it’s awful, bad, and horrible. When we first come in, we wait like 5 minutes just be seated at the table. Then we wait like 5 to 10 minutes just to waited on for our drink order. Normally I personally would have left and find something else. But my family likes this place. So I have to be patient. But it only go’s so far. Tonight was it. No service waited 15 minutes now and I found very sad when the wait staff see’s you and ignores you just wait on another table when people came in after and they are getting their drink and food order before me and my family. That’s just bad also I find it bad that the restaurant manager has to come to my table just to take our drink order and get waitress to finally take a our food orde. Oh I am sorry that I am inconvenience you to just wait on and my order. I know this sounds really silly but I feel that because I am a minority my family and I get ignored here at this location it has happen more than once one time got totally skipped over in favor for another table. I should have known better but this place is close to where I leave at so I come but after tonight prolly not anymore. We’ll have to see. Also I gone to the Arlington location plenty of times too and the complete opposite of here. We’re greeted, our orders are taken food comes out wait staff make sure everything is all good. This location not so much just terrible. UPDATE!!! After writing this we waited for a longer we just barley got our food order and guess they forgot parts of our order unbelievable I’m done.

This place was delicious. I got chicken fried chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes with a sweet tea. I mean everything was perfect. My boyfriend ordered steak and broccoli which he enjoyed very much as well. The server was quite nice too. When you walk in its a cute gift shop then curve around and it turns into a very nice and cute restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place. Prices are awesome.

I’ve had jokes about the name of the place, but the food is legit. I’m not sure how chicken fried chicken is different from fried chicken, but it’s delicious. I was stuffed. I wish they had baked mac ‘n cheese, but it was still delicious. It’s like they had someone’s grandma in the kitchen. Food was hot, service was great. Life’s always better with a full belly. I went Sunday evening & while it wasn’t overly crowded.

Good taste great but service is terrible at the cracker Barr in Desoto Tx. We eat at Cracker Barrel all the time all over the country. This one store is close to our home but this the last time we will ever eat at this store. Randy

I’ve been here several times because work is just around the corner. Gotta say I love the people here, the team is always very nice and I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the wait or service staff. The food is good for breakfast. I don’t go very often for lunch or dinner so keep that in mind. Today I ordered the new skillet dish they had with steak, potatoes, eggs, grits and biscuits/gravy on the side. The food was well prepared and the meal came out hot and flavorful. The eggs were fluffy and the potatoes were seasoned with a hint of salt and pepper. The only complaint I can think of was the wait time. It took a while for us to get seated and for the food to come out. Take this with a grain of salt because the food usually comes out pretty quick. Seating is your number 1 enemy. Get there early if you got a gaggle of family coming with Ya.

I Haven’t been to Cracker Barrel in a while and wanted to try it out again. After today’s visit now I remember why. I ordered the chicken and dumplings with three sides. The sides were fried okra, Mac and cheese, and turnip greens. The chicken tasted like it was pre-cooked canned chicken sticking to my teeth. The fried okra was squishy making it unable to be speared by a fork. The Mac and cheese was really good and the turnip greens were full of flavor. I asked for pepper sauce for my turnip greens and when I got the bottle, the sauce was missing lol. It was full of peppers but no vinegar. Thanks for trying but no thanks Cracker Barrel.

I love cracker barrel. Love their food. I absolutely, positively, HATE this location. My food is never hot. The pancakes are never cooked to my liking. Something’s always wrong. This experience was my last straw… The last time i visited there, One of the waitresses dropped a fork. Ok no problem, happens all the time. But noooooooo, this poor excuse for a cracker barrel waitress literally kicked the fork from the back of the restaurant all the way to the kitchen. AREYOUFREAKINGKIDDINGME!!! I’m eating at this point and the thought of what you’re possibly doing behind the scenes scares the living day lights out of me if you think that was ok. Someone ate from that same fork at some point that day!!! I’m officially done with this location. I still love Cracker Barrel, Im smart enough to know this location is not the face of what they believe in. One-day i hope to find a cracker barrel in Dallas that i love just as much as the ones I’ve frequented in Chicago :(

Read this carefully as you play a part in getting good food. Was here a couple years ago. All places in this area have bad ratings. Tonight it’s clean, pleasant and we have nice and friendly servers. Been here a few minutes and order placed. Waitress really sweet. We learned at this location to order breakfast only(HELLO — BIGTIPHERE). We did and enjoyed our meal. Then got back on the road to Austin. Have to be honest that the fish at the next table smelled horrific. Didn’t seem to bother the olfactory challenged dude eating it. Guess if you smoke enough cigarettes you can eat anything.

I had been in the Cracker Barrell Store, because my daughter loved to buy their Jacks, but we had never eaten there, until 07÷16÷15, and I am not sure why we waited so long. Our Waiter Chase was so nice, and helpful, and when we were confuse he recommended a dish that we would be pleased with, and we were! Everyone was pleasant and hard working and made a good impression on me, look foward to going back and receiving great service!

This Cracker Barrel is surprisingly nice for DeSoto! Yes, I’m not a fan of Desoto whatsoever, due to the high crime rate and dilapidated public areas. Everyone at this location is quite friendly and pleasant to be around. I go here with my Grandpa because it’s consistent and closest to the Midlothian/Mansfield/Waxahachie area. The Friday Fish Fry is ALWAYS a treat! :)

This is my favorite Crackel Barrel in the metroplex. We’ve all been to this place. I always order the strawberry sweet tea. Normally I get Grandpas Favorite but today I got Uncle Herschels. I wanted pork chops. I never get fried apples, just not really a sweet tooth person. Double hash brown casserole because what the hell its hash brown casserole, no questions required. My chops are mostly always a little dry. This is at any CB. I think I’ve learned to live with it and why I only order this occasionally. The eggs have to be scrambled with cheese :) All of that and your a winner. But if you want to be a champion he the biscuits and lightly butter them and then slab a generous amount of apple butter on them. That’s right. NO gravy NO jelly. APPLEBUTTER. I eat them as an appetizer. So good. The bread is good, thick and yet fluffy. Don’t forget to visit the store. The it’s super old school on there. They have things you can’t find anywhere but in the sticks.

Very good service on a busy Saturday night. Food was so good. I love the buscits and gravy. Minus one star because when I asked if the hashbrown casserole had onions it I was told no. But when I took a bite there were onions. As a server I think it is very important to know the foods you serve. If you are unsure always ask a manager. Had I been allergic thst would have been bad. All in all the food was good and service was awesome drinks were refilled and food came out fast. I recommend this location.

I’ve been here four times and each has been a good experience. The servers are nice and the food is good. I seem to always order breakfast other than the first time I was here. Each time I enjoyed my food. The décor is old time country. Not old but represents things from back in the day. Very nice. You could buy cloths, snacks, and chairs. I’ll check it out to see if it’s more than chairs next time.

Usually this cracker barrel is pretty decent. Today, my mother and my experience was not good. They brought us cold food. Everything was cold. Although our waitress started off being patient and nice, she ended up gorgetting about us. Overall we were herrr for 2.5hours. Waited about 2hours. 1.5 to be seated(we were told 40mins initially) and 30 mins for our food which came out cold, dry, and burnt. My favorite part of the meal was my lemonade. Despite our horrible experience, the manager was nice enough to accommodate us. This oarticular experince deserves 2 stars. On a regular day, I’d give CB3.5 stars.

I’ve been a patron of Cracker Barrel for 12 years off and on, with a small portion of that being employed by them. They have some great options for food, but over the years I’ve noticed quite a drastic change in their cleanliness. I got the momma’s pancake breakfast and coffee, a favorite treat of mine occasionally. First off, they didn’t wipe off our table. There were food particles still on the table and the hostess picked them up by hand, set down our silverware and menus and walked away. As I’m sure most know, the floors are so gross here you feel really dirty sitting in this place. At least I did… My husband’s fork had leftover food on it so we asked for another(after food was served less than 5min.) He waited a long time for a replacement, while his food was sitting, waiting for him. We had to ask another person to bring one. He ordered the salad and the chicken was skimpy, there were no croutons and they brought the wrong dressing. I nearly finished my cup of coffee before I noticed that I had lipstick stains(not mine, as I wasn’t wearing any) right where I was drinking! O. O eeewwwwwww!!! Last thing and I’m done. So I guess they didn’t exactly wipe off the grill or somewhat clean it after cooking fish. I could tell because my eggs and my pancakes both tasted slightly of trout. It was pretty gross. So, in conclusion, since this is not the first time I’ve encountered such grossness at a Cracker Barrel, I’ve concluded not to return until they clean up their act. LITERALLY.

Cracker Bartell is simply amazing! This location is the closest to our church and is often our first choice for a late breakfast or early lunch. It’s conveniently located on the corner by a hotel(which most are) with plenty of parking. Their breakfast is sooooooo good. I normally have the same thing every time but this visit I tried the oatmeal which was tasty. The service is great and you will have a wait on a Sunday but you can relax on the rocking chairs or browse through the store.

I would never think a review would be needed for Cracker Barrel, but this store location deserves it. I spent a weekend traveling to the Dallas area from Austin. and for the simplicity and home-style comfort food, I chose Cracker Barrel. Nothing great to expand upon on the food. Read many of the other reviews for that, I would simply like to rate them on the great staff and politeness of everyone. I stopped here TWICE. Once coming in. because I needed to and once coming out because I WANTED to. During both of my stops, I got the good food you would expect. First time it was breakfast and the next time was lunch. BOTH times I was here I really enjoyed watching the staff joke with each other and helping get customers served. I specifically watched a very tall(about my height of 6’4″) and enormous of a young man(no name on apron), just a «Rising Star» assist the entire section near the windows on Sunday. I was a single person eating the mighty tasty Sunday special of Fried Chicken Breasts. and I was drinking A LOT of the enjoyable unsweet Strawberry-Tea. Even though the young man was not a primary waiter, I watched him consistently bus tables, and memorize refills of large groups, then go get them. He alone brought me 3 – 4 teas and by the time my waitress Olivia had the chance, he beat her again…(lol) It wasn’t a race, he was just that observant and fast…(and the wait staff was not slow by any chance). Overall, the food was good and satisfying, but what I enjoyed was watching ALL of the Cracker Barrel staff watch out for each other. Management watched the floor, Shift Leaders checked orders, Wait staff responded to those above them and to the customers, and young«Rising Stars» stayed busy enjoying everything at the lowest level moved forward. There was never a time when a single table(it seemed) did not go without someone checking on them; even on a very busy Sunday. I don’t eat a lot of Cracker Barrel, but if I am in the area again and hungry, I will probably stop here for the food and the great service.
