Goochie Poochie Doggie Resort & Spa

Outstanding! I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism of Judy, the manager/​operator of this world-​class dog resort and spa. I have lived in multiple states and nations with pets, and this is the BEST place I have ever left a loved pet. The modern facilities, excellent services, prices and above all, extremely caring staff sets it apart from all others. We arrived in Destin, FL during June 2016 and found out about a pet policy in our hotel which would have been rough on our dog.
So, on no-​notice, we asked Judy if she could take our Pomeranian for three days of boarding, which she did, even though she was full and usually you have to make these reservations MONTHS in advance during the summer. We cannot thank Judy enough for her kindness to our pet during the day while we were out swimming on the beach and boating in Destin, FL where a dog would be uncomfortable. He was well cared-​for in air-​conditioning, went for walks, was fed gourmet chicken and rice, and was entertained for the entire time.
We had a much better vacation knowing our pet was loved-​on during the time we left him with Judy and her staff. Thank you does not seem adequate for what Judy and her team did for us to make our vacation and our dog’s stay in Destin a very memorable one. Very highly recommended! This place is the best! We live in Pensacola and drive all the way to Destin just for Goochie Poochie! Our pup had the best time over Thanksgiving week while we were out of the country with family. I called while we were away and got a report each time on how she was doing and how she had been doing. I am always nervous when boarding my pup but love that they offer slumber party and daycare options with the boarding. I will definitely continue going to Goochie Poochie whenever we need boarding.

I never wanted to fall in love with a grooming salon. However, when DH brought home a GoldenDoodle, we quickly learned the value of a QUALITY groomer.
Our Doodle has gorgeous hair and we enjoyed our handsome man’s mane which was effortless as a puppy… UNTIL it began to mat!
We sought recommendations and took him to a few salons. One, which is no longer in business, thoroughly disappointed us by SHAVING our dog BALD!
Enter Yuko and Goochie Poochie! Yuko and the entire staff are Grade A professionals! From the moment we walk in and she lovingly greets our dogs to the minute when we pick them up, each dog KNOWS they are loved and cherished.
After having our dog Abusively shaved bald at a previous salon, I have massive respect for the price «menu» at Goochie Poochie. If, as an owner, I want to pay for removal of mats, it is an option they’ll gladly provide! If only we had found her before the abuse.
What a concept, providing a customer what they request!
Naturally, minimal mats are removed without extra expensive, however they wisely have a time based fee for when the mats get a little out of control.
Of course, we don’t have that problem anymore, because we are now on a regular regimen of prevention, as recommended by Yuko. The dogs love to see her and her entire staff every visit. They practically pull me off my feet scurrying to the door.
I’m grateful to have found Goochie Poochie and Yuko. They EARN all the Excellent reviews you see.

Just moved here from Vegas, found this gem on Unilocal.Called before the Memorial Day weekend, got an appointment about 6 days later for an 8 AM. My hubby dropped off our Maltese there. I forgot to give a copy of the vaccine records to my husband, so I sent them by email and they helped us out for that. They did exactly what we asked for, had our pup ready in under an hour, it’s the best cut he’s ever had, and it was $ 60 for the cut/​wash and some add ons we asked for. Which is cheaper than what we have paid for less. If you have a pup that has long hair needs this is the place to go! Our dog loved them and we are more than happy, will return for sure. And we also learned they offer military discount for boarding! Loved this place

Our puppy Rupp had a fabulous visit at Goochie Poochie. The staff was fabulous. They were flexible and took amazing care of our 60 lb pup. We will come back again. Simply wonderful experience. Dee from Ohio.

Best place hands downs! I take my pup Blu here for doggie daycare and have had an outstanding experience overall. If you are looking for a place to bring your dog for any service they offer, do it in good faith, knowing that you and your pup will be in great hands! Everyone is wonderful here too! We love this place. The owner is a top-​notch groomer and expert on all things related to dogs. Groomer Mandy is so sweet with dogs that they all love her. The facility is first rate, very high tech and elegant. We’ve been to parties there, but have not used the resort portion — but I hear good things about it. Grooming is not cheap, but it’s reasonable (especially compared to another local groomer I won’t name).
The staff is very involved in animal rescue and animal rights, which is a big plus. It’s always easy to make an appointment when I call in advance. The best dog groomers I’ve ever used, out of at least 10 in the past 30 years. Goochie Poochie has all kinds of special treatments for your babies that you won’t find elsewhere. Definitely recommend!

I was nervous leaving my fur baby with anyone. But from the minute Maggie met the staff she was happy as can be. They were on the floor meeting her face to face (and didn’t mind my lick-​monster all over them) and they really put me at ease. They didn’t mind my calling to check in throughout her stay and they were so good about posting photos on their site of her making friends. It was a wonderful experience-​top rate place and full of doggy love!

It troubles me to leave Goochie Poochie a 1-​star review, but unfortunately they’ve gone the way of many high volume groomers. I’ve been with Yuko for two years and enjoyed her great work for that period. However, after her move to a large dog spa the service level has gone from personable and pleasing to rude and uncaring. I approached the staff two times to resolve my issues, but both occasions resulted in the argument being turned toward me and my wife, and claims that we were the ones with the issue not them. I know these reviews can go both ways, angry customers and what have you, but believe me when I say I respect Goochie Poochie and Yuko, but there is no personal touch there anymore. I’ll spare further details, but after two years of prompt appointment times having turned into three weeks or more, I was told they have plenty of long time customers and I should go elsewhere. So I will be unfortunately. My best to your business going forward.

Amazing place! Clean! Loving staff. Always turn to the ladies at Goochie Poochie for all my dogs needs. We have 4 pups and have to say I feel completely comfortable leaving them for numerous days while away. Daily updates, report cards when picking them up and reasonable prices. Would recommend to all!

We were staying in Destin for a week and our dog needed a bath so we called Goochie Poochie after a local groomer recommended them to us. The signage is not prominent which is a shame because the experience is excellent.
My dog and I walked in and there was another dog there, we were greeted immediately and the owner/​greeter made a positive connection with the dog. The service was efficient and friendly and when I picked up my dog she didn’t want to leave. I saw about 5 interactions with pets and owners and all dogs were greeted with a smile.
It was an excellent experience and I hope this enterprise is successful because they seem to be very good at what they do. Thanks Mandi for being so sweet to Lucy.
