Destrehan does not have an abundance of dine-in restaurants– at least those that are not of the fast food variety, and Rotolo’s is a great fit in the area out here. They even expanded their space about a year or two ago to accommodate more people and now it’s quite spacious. The food is moderately priced(and as a few other posters mentioned there are some great lunch specials too). The pizzas are great, and so are the calzones. The calzones are huge too, by the way, definitely big enough to share if you each get a side salad or even split a small order of their delicious buffalo wings. They also have a bar if you’re more inclined to pop in in for a drink and an appetizer– my favorite being the fried eggplant stacker. In fact I’ve ordered that as a full meal before too. And if you’re out in the area and just looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, Rotolo’s has a Gelato case with fresh gelato in a variety of favors. The service is good, the people are friendly and the restaurant always looks clean and orderly. One note– this is not a pizza place that delivers. There’s several of those out here in Destrehan though if that’s what you’re looking for. For this place, you either have to order and pick it up or grab a seat and enjoy right there!

This particular location has been fairly consistent, given that I have only visited on a few occasions. The dough comes in regular and wheat and has a pleasant chewiness to it that makes for good dipping with a side of marinara. Toppings are adequate, even overdone at times yet the pizzas still come out rather tasty. If your in for a challenge, give the five pound pizza a go. My coworkers went for ten and totally failed. Just be prepared to pay a hefty price for this massive pizza.

I had a friend who lives in Destrehan tell me this place did not exist. I told him it did. We work within driving distance, so one day we went, so I could show him it did exist. I can see why he had never noticed it, the front of the place does not face Airline, and it’s tucked away among a lot of other places. It does definitely exist though. Their calzones are good, and I’ve had pizza at other Rotolo’s locations, so I’m sure they’re good too. I’ve come here and only had calzones. When we’ve been at lunch it hasn’t been overly crowded, and we’ve sat at the bar. The staff is nice and the food is good. So we can make it there and back within our lunch time allotment. Of course, we always walk out with new cups each visit, much to the chagrin of my wife who says we have too many plastic cups. Free is free though. I periodically drop a few in the recycle bin to be made into more plastic cups, so it’s kind of the circle of life for plastic cups at my house.

The Greek salad and cream of artichoke soup are pretty awesome! Service is friendly and attentive. Casual, laid back, and has that local feeling. Enjoy going there for lunch when I’m out that way for work.

One of the servers by the name of Rachel coughed and sneezed into her hands multiple times and I did not witness her going anywhere near a sink for at least 30 minutes mean while she was touching costumers cups and plates, the pizza crust was burnt and the service was horrible. If I could give the establishment less than one star I certainly would.

Typical Rotolos. Consistent food and good service. Gets pretty packed on weekend nights.

This is my favorite place to get lunch in Destrehan. The service is great and the staff is friendly. I always get one of the salads, they’re big and tasty…

My Wednesday lunch spot. My coworkers and I head here at least once a week(usually Wednesday’s) to get their special — small 3 topping pizza — $ 5.99(this is their special everyday). The wait staff is friendly and cognizant of your needs. I’ll be a forever repeater.
