There is nothing about the burger or fries that would bring me back here. The food was just average and costs way to much for what you get. There are better places around here for the same price or less.

I’m from Orange County where sadly most of the Fatburger locations have closed so I have a special affinity for Fatburger. I’ve been to this Fatburger several times and the service has always been prompt and professional and the food has always been good. The cashier is always friendly and helpful, and I always see the same woman making the food. You can actually see where they prepare the food, and I always wait a few minutes for my order– both of which lead me to believe that they prepare the food fresh and are transparent about how it is prepared. This location is always clean and feels safe. The menu has a lot of options– you can get different kinds of burgers in different sizes. Both the beef and turkey burgers are very tender and juicy. I always get the skinny fries too, which are crispy without being burnt or over-fried and are not over-salted. This is a good, convenient fast food place. If the prices were a little lower, then I’d definitely give this place five stars.

I just love the burgers here. It’s easily one of the juiciest and best-tasting burgers that I’ve ever had. I’m looking forward to trying some of the items here.

So… I wanted to love the place, but i ended up kind of ONLY just liking the place. The husband went here with his coworkers for lunch and wanted to bring me when i said i wanted burgers for dinner. Here’s why i kinda didnt like it, I felt rushed immediately. I get that you want to expedite orders. But when there is literally NOBODY in the restaurant. You DONOT need to rush anyone who is just trying to figure out how your system works. He rushed us to get the protein on the grill. You order your protein first, then everything else. You can get turkey burgers and chicken, and you order in sizes, S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXL. I guess it’s the number of patties. Im almost unsure because I was rushed. Additionally, each add on is a dollar, so if you want an egg(which i like to do) or cheese, or thats another 2 dollars, on top of the base 8 dollars your L burger cost you(thats without fries). Anywho, so im looking at the menu, and the guy(not even the cashier) jumps over the cashier and says did you figure out your protein, so I guess i did and the Hubby says the L is pretty big so we say two L’s. And I do end up adding an Egg for a dollar to mine. Two drinks, An we order a set of Skinny fries, and one of Fat fries. Theres not really a difference in size. Although they taste amazing(the Skinny fries do, the fat fries taste like nothing) We spend way too much money. But eh. Maybe again some day, if im ever on woodward and feel like an over priced burger, or if i feel like doing the XXXL Challenge.

Most of the reviews here are irrelevant — this place is under new management. Ever since the reopening fatburger has been great! The food is very good, very friendly staff, and it’s always clean. Prices are very reasonable considering the size and quality of the burgers. Also their music is great. It’s safe to say I love this place.

This is under new ownership and they r doing a fantastic job! Food is fresh and tasty. Crunchy fries are amazing! Place is super clean and the owners r very friendly. Only downfall is it’s a little bit pricey. Try it again if u were turned off by previous management.

No. Just no. So many things went wrong here. All of the napkin dispensers are empty. The only napkins they had available were in a dirty package.(The kind you buy at the dollar store, but with mustard or burger grease on it.) They did not have ketchup. They serve French fries and hamburgers, and did not have ketchup. The soft drink nozzles sprayed everywhere except the cup beneath it(if there was pop stocked in them, that is, many were out.) The burger tasted ok, but not $ 11 for a meal(12 with cheese) ok. So, to reiterate. No. Just no.

I love a greasy cheeseburger. Fatburger’s are not terrible. But the ownership and management needs to get it together. Since the day it opened, they have been understaffed and out of nearly everything. Today they were out of: ice cream, napkins, straws, ketchup, and tomatoes, plus receipt paper and nozzles for some of the soda(and, in fact, about half of the sodas…). And there was only one person working for a good deal of the time. She was very sweet and was doing a good job, but she should not have been working by herself. The owner should be ashamed.

This place is pretty sad. Came in for lunch and they had no chili. The fries tasted like they had been freezer burned before they went in the fryer. Ordered coffee and the guy actually went next door to get a filter so he could make it for me, so that earned them an extra star. Next time I’m just going up the street to one of the coney islands.

This place is deplorable. The grease caked on the fryer is proof they don’t clean enough. The fact it’s been 25 mins and I’m still waiting on two medium burgers is crazy. They only have three people on one of the busiest night in Detroit and they have no apologies for this. They are out of coke and thy are not even telling people that it’s taking forever on food, that they are outer that it may take 20+min avoid at all costs!

I went to fat burgers about two months ago and once when they first opened, I have to say my experience was very different yesterday. the place was really dirty and the workers were extremely slow and rude to most customers. there was no ketchup by the tables and the drink fountain area was a mess. it took over 15 minutes to make one turkey burger, yes the burger was amazing but I lost my appetite due to the really dirty dinning area, I don’t think ill ever comeback

Literally the only reason I went in here was to get onion rings. But they were out. So I wasn’t very impressed. It took a long time to cook my turkey burger. There is only one other set of customers in the restaurant. Television was a nice touch on a good channel with good volume. Parking is essentially nonexistent. Burger was tasty.

Took forever to get my food that was made completely wrong. This is my second horrible visit and will never return. Maybe the cooks should be paying attention to their job vs. The UFC Fight. Here is an idea close the doors.

I’ve gotten lunch here twice. The service was good both times. I always get a medium burger with bacon, relish, and onions, a regular size fries and a pop. The food was good, and I’d say the burger is comparable to 5 Guys. The problem is my bill is over $ 13, and IMHO that is way too much for a burger and fries style lunch. I’d give this review 4 stars if the prices were better, but this place just isn’t worth the prices they charge. The same order at 5 Guys runs about $ 10.

It’s a relief to see others on here proclaiming the emperor has no clothes. A couple of people I work with were over the moon about this place when it opened. As for me, I was seriously disappointed. Their burgers are dry and bland. The fries are weak, too. Their prices are a flat-out rip-off. And the guy who waited on me was borderline rude 2 times in a row. Once trying to upsell me into a larger burger by demeaning my masculinity for ordering the small one, and then aggressively soliciting a tip my next visit. Dude was very unprofessional both times. Five Guys has this place beat in every way — food, service and price. I won’t be going back to Fatburger. Beastie Boys, you misled me!

Ok, I live in LA, so I *KNOW* FatBurger(That’s where the chain originated). I was shocked and surprised to see one here in Detroit, it wasn’t around on my last visit. I can see from the other reviews that some Yeplers don’t fully«get» the origin or fit of the place. It’s a 50’s-diner-style burger joint with build-your-own massive burgers, not a drive-thru fast-food joint with wimpy, synthetic, soylent green burgers. I was in town visiting Mom and stopped in to see how this new franchise measures up to the Los Angeles FB’s I go to… I ordered a double turkey, no mayo, no pickles, no tomato, no cheese and a Reese Peanut Butter shake. It took longer for them to cook the patties, and they seemed a little thin and unseasoned compared to the LA variant, also a little dry. In comparison to LA, they skimped on the relish and lettuce, but that’s typical in the midwest — some kind of anti-vegetable thing ;^). The service was great, but the place was also nearly empty on a Friday night before the Movement Festival — in LA, you’d have a decent line on any random night, especially a Friday! The Peanut Butter shake was actually quite impressive — I thought it would be gross, but it was super rich and creamy! Verdict: Sorry Detroit, LA has you beat on FatBurger today, buy a plane ticket and visit!

I was very excited to see that Fatburger came to Detroit! I love the style of these type of restaurants because the staff is always friendly. The burger was delicious. The patty was well-seasoned and the bun was buttery. With a plethora of extra toppings available in addition to the ones already included, you are bound to be able to build a burger that you’ll love. The burger was messy. I got everything on the burger and also added an egg, bacon, mushrooms and skinny fries. The bacon was very salty, but the egg and mushrooms were very good. I had a hard time keeping everything between the bun, but that could just be my burger eating incompetence! The burger was expensive. It was worth it, though. I’ll take Fatburger over Five Guys any day. The staff was very friendly and the service was pleasant. I’ll be returning in the near future to try their shakes and other sides.

oh fatburger, you’ve really let me down. but it was my own fault for having super high hopes when the sign first went up. a delicious burger place not even a block away seemed like the answer to all my meals, but sadly this has not been the case. the burger is okay, a little on the dry side. the skinny fries are delicious, and the milkshakes are awesome(i had strawberry). the service is really good — everyone here has always been really friendly, accommodating, and helpful. what i don’t get are the prices. how is it so expensive? a combo meal will run you over ten dollars and that’s just a small burger, small side of fries, and a soda. and i do mean small when i say small. that’s as much as a real restaurant where you can order your burger to your liking and it’s less food. i’d rather travel a little for a real burger. i’ll be back for the shakes though. those are really great.

I’m so full I couldn’t finish the food but I wanted to. I ordered the medium burger with the works and added a fried egg and cheddar cheese. I also got the skinny fries and a cookies and cream shake. The burger was a pretty good size, flavor was ok. I felt like it was missing something even with all the toppings. I loved the skinny fries. They were some of the best fries I had. The milkshake was pretty good as well. Parking in that area is difficult which deters me from coming back, but the again parking is a pain in midtown. The prices were a bit high but comparable to similar burger joints.
