Great looking restaurant. Probably great food waited twenty minutes and server never came back. SMH.

Sitting here now me and my man ordered 2 t bone steaks at the end of the night idk if it’s because it’s the end of the night but the steaks are so tough that we literally have to saw through them and they aren’t seasoned… they took mine off the bill and can’t offer me anything else because the kitchen is closed… but that’s fine we will take our money elsewhere… the manager didn’t even come over to apologize he sent the bar tender back to us with no apology and she just told us she can take it off the bill and that’s it… she’s had an attitude since we walked in… the hostess was very welcoming tho… won’t be back here i only gave them 2 stars because the hostess was so welcoming other than that they would have zero stars if it were possible

I think it is interesting how this restaurant only has 3 stars as I really enjoy coming here. Both times I have been here I have had an enjoyable experience. The service is very good as the food comes out quickly and the staff is very friendly. I enjoy their Cobb salads and the Bloody Mary’s hit the spot! I will definitely continue returning whenever I am in Detroit.

The food was ok, service was good. We had a reservation for a large party of 20 and they had our tables ready as soon as we arrived. Since we had a large party they had two servers take care of us which helped to provide quicker service with obtaining the order, keeping drinks full, and giving us our food. She addressed me by name since the reservation was under my name which was a plus. She provided some good recommendations for appetizers so we all could share. I ordered the catfish atchafalaya which was very tasty although initially did not look appetizing at all.

Definitely worth it when it comes to their food and place. Looking forward for my next visit in this place again. The ribs with extra sauce, so much better than any ribs sauce that I had. But that’s all I can say good about this place. Others are not that good.

Fishbone’s has definitely gone downhill. Used to be reliable for good food. Just stopped in for an appetizer late lunch and had Oysters Rockerfeller. Not good at all, way too much spinach, no bacon bits and the bechemel sauce was way too much and very pastry tasting. The lemon wedge was sitting in the sauce and got all over my hands when trying to squeeze it. Yuk! I will give 5 stars to the Black & Tan.

Depending on the night/staff the experience varies! Some times it’s great but Most times the food is mediocre and the bar staff inadequate!

Went here before a Red Wings game and the only good thing I have to say is our server was awesome. Besides that the sushi was okay, way overpriced and that goes for our meals as well. My boyfriend and I both ordered the classic burger(I know weird for being at a fish/sushi restaurant.) Anyways we waited an hour before getting our food and it was nothing special. In addition, the margarita I ordered was warm. For an $ 80 meal I would have gone somewhere else.

This place has been around forever so they don’t feel like they need to provide good service. They cater mostly to out of town tourists who don’t know better and drunk sports fans after then game who could care less what happens as long as they have a drink in their hands. There are many great restaurants in Detroit, this isn’t one of them!

Not bad, not great. Just OK. Food came in wrong order after I was specific about my order. And each one came out while I was still eating the previous course. Beer could be colder. Nice vibe, server/bartender was OK. Nothing amazing about this place. Crab legs did look good though.

Came in this morning for breakfast at 10:15 with a group of 13 who planned on bloody Mary’s celebrating a birthday of a friend who just lost his son last week. Were told by the hostess the manager shut down breakfast early(supposed to serve breakfast until 10:30) and left us standing there. Manager then raised her hand, waved us off, and rudely yelled from another room«we don’t open til 11». I’ve never been somewhere who didn’t want our business. Sorry Fishbones you’ve just lost some customers. We went and spent lots of money somewhere that actually appreciates clientele. None of us will be back.

Came to Detroit for super cross, came here for dinner and it let me down. There was a wait and dirty tables everywhere. Sat at bar and ate, no one took drink orders, had to ask for everything, servers didn’t seem to be in good moods. Overall it was horrible and I woulnt come back. Was waiting to see John taffer from bar rescue walk in.

I got the Delmonico steak sandwich … Which was great! Cole slaw had lite dressing, garlic butter went perfectly with the hit rolls for appetizers. All in all — good experience.

The dinning area has live entertainment playing and it’s very loud. I had to ask the waitress for a glass of water twice. The oysters were decent. The fillet I ordered did not taste like a fillet. It was very hard and rubbery to eat. The calamari wasn’t good– very oily and not flavorful. The lobster was okay. The butter was cold. I won’t be returning.

I always got the delmanico steak sandwich which is Derek but for $ 17 kind of overpriced. The sushi was really good and you can never go wrong. The alligator voodoo is the best app in the restaurant. It really is alligator and the dipping sauce is just amazing. Good spot to eat if your in downtown Detroit with friends :)

Came here for breakfast the morning after my wedding, along with everyone else staying at the Atheneum hotel(connected to Fishbones) who wanted to eat. Admittedly, we ended up making Fishbones quite busy, but they didn’t handle that terribly well. Some of my very close family members and friends, and myself, weren’t served our food for nearly an hour, after repeated«follow up» conversations with a server. When my food came, it was the wrong omelette, but I was so starving I just ate it anyway. We also don’t like how breakfast stops at 1030, and from then you either have to pay a lot of money for the brunch buffet, or order off the lunch menu. I know that’s just the way they’ve chosen to run their business, but a lot of people sleep late Sundays and want eggs without having to pay like $ 30 for a buffet. On the other hand, people seemed to really enjoy their food — I thought my omelette was quite good, and they have a fairly diverse menu. I wouldn’t go out of the way to eat here, but if you’re staying at a nearby hotel and don’t want to wander, I think Fishbones is a pretty reliable place for a meal. I don’t think service is generally an issue for small parties, but we were disappointed with how they handled us.

Took over 30 minutes to get our breakfast order in an empty restaurant on a Sunday morning. The French Toast was standard, but still good. I won’t be back.

Sushi isn’t bad, it isn’t great, but not bad. Food in general is decent. Portions are a little off. I got fish and chips for lunch, but I only got two small pieces. It tasted good, but not a good value. Service was pretty weak. Took forever to get water and other necessities. Also had to constantly remind the waitress that we had asked for something before it showed up to the table. The venue is pretty great and their dinner is better than a their lunch. If you are in Detroit only so often, go somewhere else and get better food for a better price.

Service was super slow and it took forever to get our food. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered 2 rolls which were ok. The fish tasted old not fresh and the rolls are small for the price. Maybe the regular food is better. Sushi is for sure a no go here.

Sorry Fishbone’s, I’m not impressed. Went with a group after a Tigers game and the food was mediocre at best. Nowhere near good enough to merit the extortionate prices being charged. I love love love New Orleans and the food/drink associated with that city. And Fishbone’s wouldn’t last a month in NOLA. The good people there would laugh it out of town. My Seafood Gumbo was boring and chewy. The deep fried crawfish appetizer tasted freezer burned(and under fried). Nobody else at my table seemed excited about their meal. Neither the waitress nor the bartender(!) knew what a Sazerac was let alone how to make one. It’s only the most famous New Orleans cocktail, btw. And when I asked what beers they had on draft the waitress(who otherwise did a fine job) handed me her hand-written beer cheat sheet. If that’s how you’re gonna roll can easily save everyone some time by handing out a beer last with the menus.
