Love it, love everything about it. They have a surprisingly eclectic selection of alcohol, if you’re looking for something specific that not everybody carries, these guys probably have it.
Not to mention their pizza is delicious and costs $ 6 for a large pie with one topping.
I’ve only ever had pleasant experiences with the staff, who are very knowledgeable and passionate about their products.

Terrible customer service, parked there and walked in to the store next door for a few seconds. They threatened to call the cops, as we were walking into the store about to drop money in there. Fuck them

Who would have guessed that this kind of shady looking hole in the wall liquor store would have such good pizza and such an awesome beer and liquor selection? The pizza is awesome, good price and you can call ahead so it’s ready for you when you get there. Ask for garlic butter on the crust, it’s amazing. Now if only they delivered…
The alcohol selection is also pretty good too, they have lots of little specialty things that you don’t necessarily find everywhere. And good prices. Plus they have their own parking lot in front of the store so you don’t have to worry about meters, which can be a hassle.

They have an incredibly large alcohol selection, but their prices can be a bit high (but not unusual for hole-​in-​the-​wall liquor stores). I favor regular beers like Budweiser brands, and a six-​pack of Budweiser will cost you $ 7.99. A 24oz. can of Budweiser runs $ 2.19, so three of those is usually a preferred choice if I want a six-​pack. It looks like Detroit on the outside, but the inside is very clean and organized. There’s not much in the way of a parking lot, but I imagine a lot of their customers just walk there. It’s a relatively safe neighborhood and the closest liquor store to the College for Creative Studies.

They have your basics, and all the liquor you might need.
Somehow I feel like this place always looks ‘shady’, however I have no bad experiences to vouch for that fear.
Walkable from many WSU apts, and anybody on the North side of campus. Also for any of us who lived in the art center neighborhood, this will be your liquor store.

Probably the largest of the Midtown liquor stores. Woodward location is convenient, and prices are reasonable. The parking lot is very small, and you will likely have a street person or two loitering around. But inside is well lit, well stocked, and quick in and out.
The selection seems to be quite broad, but then again I’m a pretty simple girl with simple tastes so I have never gone in looking for anything special or out of the ordinary. :)

I’m not a beer person but if I was, this would be the place to shop! They masquerade as a hole in the wall liquor store complete with the obligatory homeless guys outside drinking/​begging, but when my beer drinking friends visit this is the place I go. All I have to do is tell the guy behind the counter that my friend likes «those nasty dark beers» or «that stuff they serve at (fill in the blank)» and he locates a handful of beer choices for me to choose from. His suggestions are always spot on.

Star is a lifesaver. This spot has easily the best beer selection in the city and whatever they don’t have they’ll get it for you. One of the owners spent 20 minutes going thru his wholesale list with me looking up domaine de canton. (a Ginger infused cognac you really should try) they also carry six packs of all the hits from new holland, bells and all our local brewing heroes. Open till 2 with minimal sketch factor as well.
Take the time to drive right past university and give this place a go, it’s worth it!
