IDK if they were having a bad day or what. My date & I arrived yesterday @ 3:30 and was told they would be open at 4pm which is not stated on their website. We decided to drive around Belle Isle and come back. Arrived back a little after 4 to have another guy«Anthony» tell us they were opening @ 5… really on a Saturday? Then I started complaining saying that we were told to come back @4 so eventually he sat & served us BUT this is not a way to run a business. Besides I ordered the salmon that was grilled? I was expecting baked. I’ve never had«grilled salmon» and I don’t remember reading that this was how it was going to be prepared on the menu also NO mashed potatoes that were supposed to be w/my meal. Asked for a baked potato only IF they were ready– it came after I was finished eating. The cook apologized & I think something was taken off of the bill due to not having the mashed potatoes. I’m home visiting from out of state, this was our 1st visit and most likely my last. There’s SO many other restaurants to go to downtown and in the suburbs. My food was good, it’s a nice place, you really want to support BUT… smh. Try for yourself maybe your experience may be different. Good luck! p. s. I changed my review from a 2 star to a 3 star do to the food being good.

I have been to this restaurant on two different occasions. The reason I came was for a large brunch event that my friends through. The event was awesome, but this review is not about the event. It is about the restaurant and its service. The two stars are solely because service was good. The waiters were all friendly and attentive. The food on the other hand leaves much to be desired. The brunch buffet consisted of waffles, fried chicken, fried catfish nuggets, mash potatoes and an omelet station. The waffles are ok, just tastes like your basic add water to the mix waffle, not terrible. The catfish barely had any meat, it was mostly breading. The chicken was very very dry, you absolutely need hot sauce to eat it. I’ve actually never heard of mash potatoes for brunch before, some standard breakfast potatoes or even hashbrowns would have been better. Now I had to save it for last because I was soooo upset by this, the omelet. Now it would have been the most edible thing on my plate except for the fact that he put salt in it! Sooo much salt. It was like death in my mouth. A burst of salt when you take a bite. Who salts an omelet? The one thing I thought I could eat because it was just eggs, spinach, tomato, a little red onion, a little bacon. You know basic omelet. With salt :-/ The venue is really spacious and perfect for a large brunch event, but if you’re going to expect people to keep paying at this restaurant there has to actually be something to eat.

I have to say that I was really looking forward to my first visit to the restaurant. I was coming with a group and was excited about the jazz brunch. The brunch offered a nice buffet of food and bottomless mimosas according to their Facebook page. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by my group leader stating that the restaurant had lost it’s liquor license. So the mimosas were no longer offered. Unfortunately the food was not that good. At least the mimosas would have helped smooth that over. They need their license back ASAP in order to survive because relying on the food alone, this place won’t make it.

The flashing«OPEN» and«Join Us For Brunch» signs caught our attention as we drove down Jefferson early Sunday afternoon. We turned around so we could ask what time brunch ended because we had another appointment. We were greeted at the door by the hostess. She informed us that brunch ended at 4p. That was music to our ears! So we returned around 230 to find a well attended buffet and bottomless mimosas. Our server, Daniel, was attentive and had a great personality. On the buffet: crispy bacon, sausage links and patties, red velvet waffles, eggs made to order, catfish, bread pudding w/ice cream, fruit, and an assortment of treats. Ernie M. and I met the owner and spoke with her for a while on our way out. She was really nice. This first experience will definitely bring me back.

If you want a fine dining experience with great food, please DONOT come to The Bridge. I visited The Bridge on 8÷14÷15 with 5 other friends. Upon walking through the door, no one was there to greet us and direct us to our table. After waiting about 6 minutes to be greeted and taken our table, there was some water on the floor near our chairs. I kindly I asked the waitress walking past, can you have someone mop of the spillage. The waitress looked at me as if I asked her for her first born child. Eventually someone from the back came over with two rags to clean up the spillage. After 10 more minutes has passed, another waitress finally came over to ask the hostess, is this my table? After getting confirmation that this was her section, the waitress came over. Upon coming our table the waitress(Veroniqua) informed us that no one on staff wanted to serve us. I am thinking to myself, why not? This is my first time here. One of the members in our party was there last week with a larger party and the staff remembered him. According to his memory, nothing bad happened, it was just a large number of people they had to service. Regardless of that fact, WHYINTHEHELL would you tell paying patrons that no one wanted to serve them; and the kicker is WHYWOULDMANAGEMENTALLOWTHAT? This is blanket discrimination. I asked her would you like for us to leave, and her response was nothing less than, ok. It was like she did not care if we all got up and left. When Veroniqua asked me for my order, I asked for a salad. I also asked, what type of dressing do you have? Apparently by me asking that, I was causing a problem. It took the kitchen 50 minutes to serve our food. Granted, the crowd was moderate, but 50 minutes? COMPLETELYUNACCEPTABLE. Upon receiving our bills, Veroniqua said, next time you all come here, don’t be so colorful; bring some other people with you. What does colorful mean? I’ll let whoever reading decipher that, but I was highly offended. The food was mediocre, the service just as good as McDonald’s(if not worse). The parking is in a alley with no street lights. If you want a quality dining experience, please, please do not choose The Bridge. P. S. I shortened my experience to save the reader time in making a decision.

Went there for the first time with a total group of 6 guys. After we were seated no one came to the table for a while. When someone did show up, we were told that this was not her area and that no one else wanted to serve us. Initially we thought she was joking, so we stayed. The food was OK at best, only 2 of us really enjoyed the food. They got the Bridge Chicken dinner. The live music was good, but too loud. Although the waitress was nice for the most part, the comments she made throughout then dinner indicated that the reason no one wanted to serve us was because we were a group of guys. I’m really disappointed to leave this review because I live in the neighborhood, and was excited about a new restaurant. The Bridge will need to improve their service and food selection before we return.

Stopped by The Bridge today after paying a visit to the soon to become neighborhood with Tony R., and I felt right at home. This all started while when breezing down Jefferson, we saw the«Join Us for Brunch» sign in the window, and it called our names. All morning and afternoon long until 4 pm on Sunday you get an all you can eat spread that includes bacon, sausage, grits, cheese grits, home style potatoes, eggs cooked to order, waffles, fresh fruit, desserts, and catfish, yes, even catfish. Everything was tasty, and the buffet was stocked regularly. We did not encounter anything missing on our 3 or 4 trips to the buffet. The whole place just had the right vibe. Live music by a local ensemble is really a nice touch, and is apparently standard course on Sundays. The owner stopped by our table, she was great, and really seems to be committed to putting forward a quality experience. As far as cost is concerned, the brunch buffet was $ 23.99 per person, all-you-can-eat, and included bottomless mimosas. I would be remiss if I did not mention our server Daniel. He was a gracious and friendly host, who checked in regularly, but not too much, and had a great personality to offer when he stopped by our table. Give The Bridge a try, I think you will be pleased!

After reading some of the other reviews on here, I’m assuming they’ve made some changes. If I was rating on just food, I would give this place five stars. We love calamari and planned on ordering that for our appetizer, but the very nice server gave a glowing recommendation of the lamb nachos. We were not disappointed. The flavors were interesting, complex, and new. For dinner, I ordered the fettucini Alfredo with shrimp. It was not a traditional Alfredo; it was better. SOFLAVORFUL. Too often, restaurants try to dumb down their flavors so more people will like it. I always appreciate restaurants that are bold and exciting. I basically forced my boyfriend and our friend to try it and they both agreed that it was incredible. They both ordered the salmon, and the same thing can be said about this dish: SOFLAVORFUL. The service was great. I wish I could remember our servers name. He was so nice and helpful, and he checked back on us often. The manager also checked on us, as well as the busser. The only complaints I have are that some of the décor was 90s cheesy, like the big vinyl banner behind the DJ. The restaurant is going for classy with a lounge vibe, and the banner is neither of those. Also, the music was so loud and the DJ was right next to our booth so we ended up moving to the other side. I couldn’t even hear anyone at my table talk unless they were talking in my ear. Even after we moved, it was still too loud. Good music, cool that there’s a DJ, but I’m trying to have a conversation over dinner. If the server and I have to yell at each other, there’s a problem. Next time we’re in Detroit, we definitely want to come back for the Sunday brunch!

Very disappointed! Someone told me this was a nice place so a group of us tried it after a concert at Chene Park. The service was extremely slow and not pleasant at all. The waiter had a bad attitude and I was really disappointed with my food(salmon burger) but he never came back and asked so I was stuck. The atmosphere was nice but that was the only thing good about the place. Hopefully The Bridge will pay attention to these reviews and make some changes.

I found the bridge to have very good food. The crab cakes are to die for and I don’t really like crab cakes. The wait staff was very professional and organized, quite a feat for most new restaurants. The menu and the drink selection are currently limited, again they just opened. the reconstruction of the building is quite amazing, I figured it for demolition. great location and a great start, I’m expecting it to just get better. Alicia and staff are very up to the task.

I live in the neighborhood, a few blocks down the street, and was excited about this new restaurant. However; after going there for the first time — I was extremely extremely disappointed. The menu was small, the prices were high — like the same as a legit restaurant like Roast high. I really hate leaving a bad review because it would be great to have a good local restaurant — this place won’t be it though. No parking, bad acoustics, too loud of music(I get there is a live band — I still like to talk to the people at my table), small menu, bad food. Sad.

The renovation from when it was Sunday Dinner Co, is really nice, the«bridge» theme including the raised booths isms nice touch. The bar area is nice. I came For lunch with a friend and the waiter was extremely Nice. It was steady, not quite busy but steady from local traffic. The food was just ok-I ordered the lamb nachos. I’m hoping to go back again and check out something else and update.

The Bridge recently opened on a strip of Jefferson in pretty bad need of a good place to eat: the block is mostly liquor stores and gas stations, so we were really excited to find a new place to eat. The décor inside is nice, although it definitely still has a ‘work in progress’ kind of look. There is a stage in the dining room, which might be good for some shows. We were taken to a table for two near the bar and the service was prompt from our waiter, who was pretty attentive. This was in addition to another waiter walking around the restaurant clearly upset about some bill issue with another table, swearing kinda loudly about it(in a small space). Not a great first impression. They have a sort of full bar although they’re missing some staples(couldn’t make a manhattan). They have no draft beer at all, and their can/bottle selection is pretty unexciting(their most exotic offering is an atwater IPA). We settled on a can of beer each. The menu is pretty pricey for what you’d expect. Usually a small menu is a good thing in my mind, but this thing was tiny. A few apps(nothing you wouldn’t expect: chicken fingers, wings, crab cakes), a few sandwiches including the terrible lamb reuben, and a few entrees(including the now-standard $ 25 lamb chops I’ve started to associate with uncreative restaurants) We started with the crabcakes($ 10 for two), which the flustered waiter explained were not fresh, and that it was impossible to get fresh crab or fresh crabcakes in Detroit, but for frozen they were pretty great. Uhhh, all right? We followed that with the lamb reuben($ 13 for a sandwich and fries), also coming with a glowing recommendation. The crabcakes were, as predicted, not fresh, and also contained maybe a little bit of crab? Or, the truck that was carrying these to the restaurant passed a fishery, or the chef had read a book about crabs once. It was almost entirely breadcrumbs and as such had very very little flavor and a dense, soft-serve texture. It was served with a spicy mayo-type sauce that had been drizzled over the plate and was already starting to congeal when it got to our table. The outside was dense and over-fried. There was nothing delicate about the dish and it was pretty disappointing. I didn’t finish mine, my partner was hungrier. The lamb reuben was pretty solidly disappointing too. The bread was nothing special and was pretty soggy when it got to us. The cheese tasted like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for a while, which was weird given how fast the turn-around was. The lamb was rubbery, chewy, overcooked, and had none of the delicious ‘lamby-ness’ you’d expect. The rest of the sandwich was kinda a mess, with a pepper medley and a misc. yogurt sauce. It had fries, which were just frozen fries. Overall, the food was really disappointing and we were a little shocked that our bill for a couple beers, a sandwich, and two crab cakes, plus tip, came to 40 dollars! This neighborhood, located just west of Indian Village, just east of Downtown, and having a hard time attracting the charm of either, really needs a good casual dining establishment and we were really hopeful for The Bridge. Unless they make some big changes, we won’t be going back.
