BEWARE, THISPLACESEEMSLIKE A SCAM. My whole experience with this company was terrible. I paid $ 98 online for a one hour jet ski rental, their website was completely misleading and incorrect. They had a different location than what was listed on their website. When I found the location after calling them there was nobody there. I showed up at 10:30am and their website says they open at 9am. They hadn’t even got the jet ski’s in the water yet. I sat around for 2 hours waiting on them to get the jet ski’s running, all the while it seemed like the teenagers that worked there had no idea what was going on. They never got the jet ski’s to work, and I talk to some sort of manager. He offered me a refund, but then they couldn’t find their credit card machine. When they finally found the credit card machine nobody knew the pin to make it work. I left at 1pm and called their number and talked to the owner who told me he would handle it. I waited over an hour for the owner to call me back, when I called nobody picked up. I had to go back to their place and talk to the owner. After 5 days I finally got my money back. I ended up getting a new credit card as a precaution.

Scammed Me Out Of $ 200 !!! Please beware of this company! My boyfriend and I drove from Dover to Dewey Beach to enjoy a couple of hours on the jet ski’s. I researched and found this place. This place is ran by a couple of college kids at a table on the beach, that should have been a red flag. We sign some papers and the young lady tells us we were next in line and that it will be about 45 mins, FINE! We give our deposit because thats the only way to hold your spot, your deposit is the whole cost which was $ 197 for the both of us. We left our cell phone number with her and started browsing the area, we sat down at a pizza spot and went shopping still no phone call. We notice that 2 hours have went by and still no phone call so we make our way back. We get back and the girl tells us that the jet ski’s are still not back. At this point we are hot and completely over it so ask for a refund. The girl says they dont give refunds(there is no sign that says no refunds) so we say forget it and stick around and wait for another 30 – 45 mins. Another girl comes back and says that the jet ski is broke. Ok what about your others? she said they were only running two that day and one was broke so we couldnt ride that day. Ok Great. No can we have a refund? She says«Sure». I follow her to a little hut down the street and the manager tells her«No refunds, so what the jet ski’s are broke, we dont give refunds». After going back and forth with her for about 15 minutes she agreed to mail me a refund. Its been about a month and still nothing. Avoid this place at all cost. Definitely not worth it. Sidenote: I dont even think they have jet ski’s because I never seen one with my own eyes, I am convinced this is a scam.

First I would like to say that I have rented boats before from other places in the U. S and this was the first time I had to deal with such a horrible experience. TO begin with it was this past weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, and everyone is out trying to rent boats. It’s a fun thing to do with a group of friends and we were very much looking forward to it. We called around to a few boat places and although Delaware Marine Group was not the cheapest, they boasted that their boats were a lot faster then the others around them. Since we wanted to go tubing, we thought this would be our better option. First of all this place is so unorganized. We made a reservation and they completely forgot about us. When we finally got that figured out it took at least 30 minutes for them to bring our boat up to dock. ANDTHEBOATTHEYBROUGHTWASN’T EVENOURBOAT. They accidentally sent our boat out with another party. This created a problem since we were a group of 13 and the boat they wanted to send us out with only carried 12. Well they said it wouldn’t be a problem. They took our money, didn’t go over any safety rules and didn’t have us sign any contract or anything so off we went. We were on the water for about 30 minutes, on a boat called the Hurricane, which was too small and too slow for our party, before the cops pulled us over in the middle of the bay. They did a random inspection of the boat and found that we did not have enough life jackets on the boat, and that our driver didn’t have a license(we didn’t know we needed to have a license and we were never told this) When we returned to the harbor the owners seemed SHOCKED and acted like they had told us all the rules. We politely argued and the cops fined them for the life jackets and fined us for the license. We asked for a refund but the only refund they wanted to give us was TOUSETHETIMEWESTILLHADLEFTONTHEBOATATANOTHERTIME. We paid 380 for four hours and only used 30 minutes, and it was our last day at the beach. We told them that since we did not sign a contract with them, he could not hold this requirement against us. However he said since we made the reservation it was our RESPONSIBILITY to know what the contract stated– EVENTHOUGHTHEYNEVERGAVEUS A CONTRACTTOLOOKOVER. After bickering for 15 minutes and getting no where, other then we are going to sue you for legalities that he was gong against, he had one of his staff take us out on the same boat for the remaining time. THe kid that drove us was really nice-however he said that DMG has problems with all of their equipment and will never issue refunds. For example, that day someones jetski died in the middle of the ocean. Thank god that person had their cell phone on them, or else he could have died. He wanted a refund but instead they sat him on another jet ski. This place is all about money and not about customer service, don’t be fooled. The owner comes off really nice but he isn’t and all their boats and jetskis have problems. They are old and run downed and they are charging way to much. There are cheaper boat rentals in other places, especially Ocean City. They say you get what you pay for but we paid almost 100.00 an hour and got a slow boat ride and ocean police ticket. BEWARE

It’s July 4th weekend. What better way to spend a hot summer day than renting a boat, relaxing, and doing a little tubing. If renting from Delaware Marine Group, there’s a good chance the relaxing part will go out the window. A bunch of us all chipped in to rent a boat for four hours over the weekend and were pretty jazzed to escape the heat, go tubing, and just have a relaxing time. However, about 2 hours into our 4 hour rental, our boat kept stalling. After 4 or 5 attempts to get the engine to turn over, we called Delaware Marine Group from a cell phone(the boat didn’t even have a radio. super) to ask what to do. They walked us through the steps, telling us we had a gas bubble or something and then said we would not have the issue again. Not even five minutes later, we could not start the boat. Naturally, this got us a little worried. Once we were able to start the boat again(a good ten minute process), we headed immediately back to the marina, despite still having most of our rental time left. As we attempted to get back, we continued to have problems the entire way. Eventually, a staff member came to our aid and helped bring the boat back in. However, HE even had trouble doing so. We finally were back on land, pretty disappointed with our boat ride and nowhere near pleased with our experience. When we confronted the staff, and asked for a refund just for the time we didn’t get to spend on the boat, they told us «there is nothing we can do» and offered to either let us go out ONTHESAMEEXACTBOAT for two hours or to credit us two hours for a later time. When we pressed further, the staff got very defensive and refused to refund us what I would consider to be our rightful money. I think it goes without saying that we have zero intention of ever returning to this location again. When you lay down the money to rent a boat for four hours, you expect to receive four hours of boat time. It really is a shame that a company thinks it is alright to have such poor customer service. This was without a doubt the biggest disappointment of my weekend. Delaware Marine Group, you seriously should be ashamed and embarrassed with the way you treat your customers.
