Authentic Chinese food from Xian, land of the terracotta warriors. Hand-made noodles and the famous Xian delicacies such as 泡沫(bubble noodles) and 夹馍(beef pita). We drove several miles to eat there because it is really good. Even in NY we haven’t tasted such authentic food like we did in Xian, China until we came here.

More of a 3.5 i guess. This place serves Xi an food, which is a pretty underrepresented region around here in terms of Chinese food. Food– Qi Shan Noodle($ 8): This is a soup noodle. Saw pics n thought itd be flavorful and spicy. Came out not spicy and actually pretty bland. It also had a slightly sour flavor to it. Noodles and other stuff was ok. Not really my cup of tea so wouldnt get this again. Braised meat in preserved sauce hand made noodle($ 8): This is considered a dry noodle but its not as dry as say dan dan noodles. It kinda has a soupy gravy as the sauce. This was good but a lil too salty in my opinion. Chinese hamburger($ 3): Ive had better. Meat is shredded which i dont like. Lamb skewers($ 7): You get 6 skewers. Pretty good. Overall, i really wanted to like this place but i came out with mixed feelings, which is why i had to round down instead of up. Might give this place another chance someday.

Slave girl and I were having a lunch date on Friday. I was Unilocaling around diamond bar area since we were in the hood and I saw this place. The rating was decent and it looked like a new establishment. Well, you know with Chinese places, you must hit it when it’s still new so you get the best food and service they would offer. In the same plaza as bull demon king, Starbucks, and Jack in the box, all the way hiding in the corner with a very small English sign, sure it wasn’t easy to find. We got 3-item cold appetizers, pita bread with lamb, braised meat with hand made noodles in preserved oil, and lamb kabob. Sadly, lamb kabob was forgotten by the waitress so we never got to try it. Slave girl and I both agreed the pita bread with lamb was really good compared to the one on Gail in Rowland Heights, on top of that, the pickled garlic on the side was done well. I personally found the braised meat very bland on the hand made noodles and believe it was not worth the price. However, they do make their own noodles here and I love the texture of it like no others. Service was hit or miss. If the owner alike boss lady is around, service would be great. Otherwise, good luck on getting any eye contacts. Overall I do like the food here and I would return again to try the lamb kabob.

Who would’ve thought that diamond bar would have such a noodle joint. Their noodles are hand made into perfection. I absolutely love the texture and thickness of their noodles. If you want carbs overload, this is definitely the place to hit. The noodles doesn’t come with any meat/protein. Non the less, it’s very tasty and delicious.

Enjoyed the handmade Biàng Biàng noodles for lunch at XiAnWei. What kind of noodles you say? Biàng Biàng noodles are the specialty noodle of Shaanxi, China. I added some chili oil and was wowed by the combo of flavors. Thank you to #DineLA for recommending this little hole in the wall! Great place, great prices!

— Locale Destination — It’s on S Diamond Bar Blvd and Grand Ave in Diamond Bar. It’s in a corner shopping center, close by «Big Lots». Ambiance: Pop & mom spot. Very simple, casual, a little outdated. Not so much different from previous establishment. They got some food in the warmer for to-go. You can use credit cards. Service: She did English a little bit and was kind enough to help me for recommendations. Nice. Menu: mostly noodles, soup, some appetizers like skewers on the menu in English. Some dishes are in Chinese and only on the wall. I could see some familiar dishes like«Mabo tofu» and«chin jao rosu», yet I don’t know what they are due to the Chinese… Why not in English?! Health Dept sign: A Parking: Plenty — Gluttony Expedition — Mutton skewers: This looks like the one you see at Korean«skewer» BBQ place. Lots of very small cut of meats in a long skewer. 6 of them come with it. Very black peppery seasoning. Not bad. Good appetizer. Beef noodle soup: the broth was awesome. One of the best ones in this area. I could come here just for this. The noodle was handmade — very thick(almost too thick for me. Lot thicker than XLB skin), big(its cut doesn’t look like noodle — check my pic), mushy. Taste wise, yea, I feel the home made, but it doesn’t mean it’s awesome. It’s alright. It’s a bit too big/thick, so kinda hard to eat. The toppings are very minimal — a little Napa cabbage, cilantro, small chunks of beef. The broth is good. As a dish, it’s not that satisfy overall. — Conqueror’s Deduction — Maybe 3.5 stars, yet I loved the soup, so rounded up 4 stars. I think it was a lot better than the previous establishment. Kinda homey yet I feel the quality slightly… I’m not a noodle fan in general, yet I loved the broth. I’ll come back for that when it’s cold weather.

Xi an Wei is definitely one of the best places to get Chinese food in Diamond Bar and surrounding areas. What makes it special is that it specializes in Xi’an food, which is famous for thick handmade noodles, the chinese«hamburger», and lamb kebabs; there’s really only a handful of places like this even in the Southland. I’ve had the«hamburger»(which is basically ground meat between two lightly toasted circular flatbreads), the beef noodle, and my favorite egg and tomato dry noodles. All the items were incredibly good, filling, and surprisingly not too expensive given the area. The thick handmade noodles in particular, do a great job of soaking in the sauces or soup you use and retaining much of the flavor once they’re in your mouth. As for the actual location, it’s brightly lit and clean and the people running the place are usually friendly and like to strike up a conversion. This might sound strange but perhaps my only suggestion to the place is to play some background music, especially during times when there are too few patrons. It’s weird to eat in silence. Still, Xi An Wei is a really welcome addition to Diamond Bar’s weak restaurant scene.

Come here if you like: 1) carbs 2) mutton Came here for a late lunch with my sister. All the patrons, except us, knew exactly what to order. They’re known for their hand pulled noodles. Many of the noodle dishes are sans protein — heavy emphasis on the quality of noodle, so don’t come here if you are anti carb. Do come here if you are appreciate of hand pulled noodles. My sister and I order the following: –BBQ mutton($ 6.99 for 6): mutton is lamb. The lamb is good here. It’s not too gamey in flavor, and there’s a good amount of fat to mitigate any dryness. It had good flavor, fat, and texture. –Chinese hamburger($ 3.99): Mystery meat sandwiched between two slices of pita like bread. Meat resembled pulled pork — so maybe pulled beef? In any case, it was good with an extra kick of chili oil. –biang biang noodles with pepper oil($ 6.89): Probably my favorite dish. I really liked the texture of the hand pulled noodle. They were thick, chewy, and al dente. So good. Even better was when I let the noodles soak in the chili oil. Despite really enjoying my lunch here, I must warn that acclimation to this place is hard. The menu doesn’t provide much explanation, and you should know beforehand what you want to order. It’s cheap. Try. Change up your usual lunch routine.

Authentic Xian cuisine! Biang biang noodle is chewy and delicious. The Xian buns is very true to what it should taste like. The only downside to the place is lack of music and deathly silent.

The noodles are hand made! I had the spicy beef noodle soup it was good not enough beef though. The noodles do taste fresh and hand made but it’s alot of thick noodles. I’ll be sure to try a veggie dish next time I go.

Stumbled into this place on accident, boy were we glad we did. This new place has the real deal hand made Chinese noodle and it was delicious. We had the thick wide noodles with chile in a light vinegar dressing and am already craving another serving. We also enjoyed the noodle soup with veggies in a spicy both. The bok choy was just cooked, not soggy or overcooked. Just delish. We also ordered noodle soup with pork and veggies. We were the only caucasians in the place, but the servers were very patient with us and explained the specials that were only written in Chinese. We felt very welcome and appreciated. A asian customer approached us to ask if we were enjoying our meal and said the style of cooking was typical of the region she was from and was very authentic and quit good. And our table for all this was $ 25 bucks tax and tip included, wooohoo! So let’s add up why I loved this place: great food, friendly efficient service, extremely reasonable prices.

DELICIOUSVEGETABLEMEATBALLSOUP! Took about 15 minutes and well worth the wait. Large bowl of glass noodles, seaweed, enoki mushrooms, quail eggs, pork meatballs, cabbage, and sliced tofu in a clean beef broth. Added some chili oil and was wowed by the combination of flavors. Wait staff spoke English and helped me select this delicious dish. I will be back soon to try their homemade thick noodles and other dishes. This is a new restaurant and I hope and pray that others will discover this gem. The quality and service evidenced in my soup experience far, far exceeds that of other Asian restaurants in the area. Please try this place. I’m certain your taste buds will be pleased!

New Xi An food restaurant. Foods are delicious here! Very original Xi’an style food. The owner is same family with the owner of Xi’an Kitchen in City of Indusatry, another very nice restaurant. Lucky to have this one opened near my home. Will come often.

Newly opened Xi’An Chinese restaurant that took over the space of Hunan Restaurant. Menu isn’t very extensive, just one page front and back. There are a ton of random English typos, and even my parents weren’t familiar with the Chinese names. Needless to say, we rarely if ever have this type of cuisine. Basically, it is mostly noodle dishes. I guess the unique aspect of their cuisine is that their noodles are extra wide and extra long. The waitress said that one of the dishes only consisted of 4 strands of noodles! I had a good laugh watching my family struggle trying to splice the noodles with their spoons haha. I just Googled Xi’An cuisine and the first link is «chilies, noodles, and lamb», which is this place in a nutshell. There wasn’t any lamb, but the noodles we ordered had a heavy dose of cumin, which is what Chinese restaurants usually flavor their lambchops with. It’s good at first, but got spicy for me towards the end. I can’t really recommend any dishes to try, since I don’t remember what they’re called. But I’d imagine mostly everything on the menu would be a new experience for most people. As much as I absolutely love noodles, I probably wouldn’t come back to this place unless I was loading up on carbs. But it’s worth a try!
