UPDATE~ When You & Me café first opened their doors me and my boyfriend were their number 1 fans. We came to dine here probably three times a week. We instantly noticed that their customer population was poor. The owners, wife & husband always seemed to have friends and family over every time I was there. Long story short, I went a few weeks without eating out and when I decided to come back to You & Me, nothing was the same. When we came in, we were not seated. The waitress forgot to take our order. So the manager came up to the table & «jokingly» said, «oh they forgot to take your order? Next time come back.» And left. So that discouraged us. Next, they brought 1 plate. 10 minutes later…2nd plate… etc. My food was cold and so is the love I had for You & Me. The place was packed… with pure family(minus one family who seemed upset also) the owners were fluttering around their families tables sitting and talking and drinking. Their orders were also taken before ours. But anyways. When I got home my stomach was upset & I instantly felt like vomiting. I told my boyfriend and he too felt like vomiting. I guess I won’t be here for a while. Hope staff and food can improve sometime in the future. I guess being understaffed isn’t always the best idea.

The classic wonton soup. My all-time, favourite. Especially when you’re feeling under the weather. Or if you are just a soup crazed person like myself!

—-UPDATE — - Alright~ so this review was for my most recent visit here(which was about 2 weeks ago i believe). I came here with my fiancé to get my You&Me Café fix since the week before they were temporarily closed(and it was on my birthday with family). :( Anyway, to fulfill the missed birthday crave, I went back and this time it was with the fiancé. He and I have been coming to this little gem for quite some time and looked forward to eating here again together. However, as we looked over the menu, we noticed their prices have gone up substantially– by about $ 2-$ 3 each dish! Despite that, we put in our orders(3 dishes total) and was informed by the waiter that a bowl of rice was an additional $ 1 charge! Oh my stars. We just accepted since we both already came here hungry. The food was still delicious for the most part, but the sudden price increase was just unacceptable due to the fact we’re being charged high-end Chinese restaurant prices at a Chinese café spot. .and even still, both restaurants and cafes wouldn’t charge you for a bowl of rice after ordering by the dish! Oh well~ will have to check back in later-later and hopefully everything will be back to normal, pricing-wise.

Really good food. Its good atmosphere. Its a place to take a date. You can talk and have conversation. The price is fair for the food and atmosphere.

GREAT service. Loved eating here. Menu design is so cute. Ordered chicken chow mein, loved it. Rice is made with sink water… so that’s something to work on. Got a mango slushy(basic I know). Needed more boba. Definitely will return!!!

You and Me café is the latest iteration of the Chinese café style establishment to have taken over this spot in the plaza. First it was MyStore way back when, now it’s you and me. The menu has an eclectic array of Chinese food, indulging those who enjoy spicy, savory, and even sweet dishes. For the dishes I have tried, namely the Dan Dan noodles and the spicy dry noodle beef, they are quite tasty. Adding their own spin on these and other classics, you and me is a great addition to the growing Chinese food scene taking place on the corners of diamond bar blvd and grand. However, I did not find it surprising that this place was quite empty on a Saturday afternoon for what you and me makes up for in taste it lacks in price point. Chinese food, especially to a Chinese person, in a casual setting such as this spot, is expected to provide taste, quality of ingredients, and a low price point. Whether or not that is fair to Chinese restaurants can be debated, but that’s just the expectation we have. There is nothing special about lunch special prices, that’s how it’s supposed to be. To charge 9 bucks for a bowl of noodles and ten for a fried rice is above the expected price point and, thus based on perception alone, knocks it down a star. Whether or not this is fair can be debated, but there is no debating that, if you are willing to pay the price of admission, you’ll get some good food along the way.

I would call myself a connoisseur of the Chinese food scene in Southern California, and this little place impressed. The restaurant is clean and decorated to a standard above many other similar establishments. Although our food arrived slowly, the service was wonderful and kind. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The menu is fun, with divisions of Sky, Earth, Sea, Carbohydrates, etc. There’s also a decently wide menu of tea/boba/shake drinks. The food itself came in normal portion sizes, but packed great flavor lunches. Nothing was too salty. Dishes that we’d had at other places taste even better here. A notable dish was the beef and broccoli. The beef was tender and of quality cut, the broccoli cut to only the best parts, and the sauce had extra garlic flavor that had us scraping it onto our rice! Prices are about 1 or 2 dollars more than you might normally pay, but I’ll do it every time from now on for this quality of food. I shall return!

I had high hopes for this place but it disappoints. Service was incredibly slow and it wasn’t even busy. I ordered the chicken lunch special and order was incorrectly brought out as a fish dish. Waiter claimed that it was because they’re super busy ok in the kitchen, which I don’t see that as an excuse at all. What if I had a seafood allergy? The soup was incredibly bland granted that it was free. You’ve lost my business here. I will not be coming back.

Great lunch spot! Outside seating that allows for the afternoon sun to help melt the stresses of an office day away! Thanks for the fantastic, and healthy portioned food. I was able to have my next days lunch ready from the leftovers. I enjoed the Green Tea that was INCLUDED in my meal, what a relief to have a full meal with a single stated reasonable price. Great customer service to top it all off!

This was my second time here and I’m impressed. I got the orange chicken months back and it was DELIGHTFUL. A little spicy too, which was a nice surprise. As we speak I’m eating my wonton soup and I really can’t say enough about it. It’s full of wontons, vegetables and chicken/beef. The broth has a very good flavor. I had a major craving and it definitely hit the spot. I also ordered chicken chow mein which is also very good. $ 17.55 for both items, so a little pricey for take out, but if you dine in, it makes sense. It’s very nicely decorated, not like a walk in grab-and-go Chinese food spot. The portions are also rather large so that could be another reason for the prices. They said it was a 15⁄20 min wait which ended up being about 27 mins and I remember the same thing happened last time but I wasn’t in a rush and would honestly have my food coming out hot and fresh than having it done quickly and mediocre. The guy who helped me was very nice also. Just a tip $ 20 minimum on cards though he took my card for the $ 17.55 anyway. I’ll definitely be coming back to this place

First time here for dinner. Ordered salt and pepper oyster, Mongolian beef, twice cooked pork and hot and sour soup. That’s what you called good delicious food. Everything tastes perfect. My kids and I loved the oysters the most. It was plated with fried basil leaves. Amazing and delicious. Highly recommended from moi and the kids. Now I know where to get good fried oysters whenever my cravings goes bonkers. Oh yes their Chai Laté iced is perfectly made.

This review is based on the service. Didn’t get a chance to eat the food because we left. First, we arrived and we’re ignored so we seated ourselves. Secondly, the lunch menu said that you can substitute the soup for iced black or green tea. When we asked for the substitution the waitress responded like we were crazy. My wife didn’t have the patience for her attitude so we left. The pictures look like they have good food, but staff needs to learn the menu.

Good Chinese food is pretty hard to come by in the Diamond Bar area. Thank goodness there are more and more new Chinese restaurants popping up here and there to try and fill that void. Most people head west into City of Industry, Hacienda Heights, or Rowland Heights to find it. This location is not a very good location. It’s tucked inside next to the Albertsons supermarket, so you can’t see it from Diamond Bar Blvd. The entrance to the parking lot is a bit goofy if you’re entering from the post office side. A few restaurants have come and gone at this location since I’ve started living here. My parents liked this new place after going a few times, so they had me join them one time to check it out. *Yang Zhou Fried Rice* This is my favorite style of fried rice. It was perfectly salted to my taste. I would definitely want to come back for this item if I’m ever craving fried rice. *Salt & Pepper Pork Chop* This was also very good, especially if you like salted meat. It’s also a lot easier to eat and share with the pork chop cut into smaller pieces. It had just enough spiciness to it. *Mapo Tofu* This was not bad. It was a little too sweet for my taste. I also prefer to have more ground meat in mine. I love eating this dish with white rice. *Taiwanese«A» Vegetable* From tasting this dish, you could tell that the cooks had a nice big flame to cook with which made it taste really good. It had lots of minced garlic. I love garlic. *Dumplings* Good skin. Not bad. I was hoping for more a little bit more flavor, but that was nothing a little soy sauce and vinegar couldn’t help. We liked the new décor inside compared to the last tenants. Service was fast and pretty friendly even for an Asian restaurant. Prices were reasonable. Not bad for a grand opening. I was impressed enough that I would not hesitate to eat here again!

I came here with some friends and had the filet mignon beef cubes and some fruit tea and some A-Cai . I loved the fruit tea! Not too sour like sometimes fruit teas are, and the presentation was very nicely served in a glass tea pot. Can add more water after finishing too, and there is still enough flavor. I never had filet mignon cubes before in a chinese place, but I thought it was really good and saucy and tender! Great for mixing with rice, and the sizing was generous for sharing. This was a little more expensive than I’m used to, but the waiter recommended it so I decided to order it without another meat dish. Then we ordered A-Cai just for some veggies. These two dishes were enough to feed three! I would come back and probably order the exact same thing lol. I came when it was during the soft opening I think, so there was some free seaweed. : — — -) I enjoyed my experience!

This spot has been a rotating hit and miss of eateries. To this day I still miss the MyStore Café that was there when we first moved to diamond bar 15 yes ago. But so much for nostalgia… My husband and I noticed the restaurant changed again so we went to give it a try. We believe in supporting the local economy even if we’re not adventurous people. We went there for dinner, was promptly greeted by a waitress who got up from a table of I presume were workers and owners. That always bothers me about Chinese restaurants, how the workers would eat in the restaurant like patrons but it’s usually at off hours… This was about 7:30pm. She explained it was their second day of opening and to excuse them a bit. She offered us iced black tea or green tea on the house and brought a complementary plate of seasoned celery. So far so good. We opened up the menu and were shocked at the prices. $ 11 for beef and broccoli?! The entrees all start around that price. My husband was ready to leave at that point but I wanted to try their food. Even if it means paying more than usual. We got Kung pao shrimp and beef and broccoli. The shrimp weren’t fresh and tasted strange. There were too much water chestnut. The peanuts were good though. Beef and broccoli was too salty. Overall very disappointed. We would have rather gone to jade house even if their food is greasy. Café 101 would have been much better and definitely would have gone to diamond palace instead. I would consider going back if they lower the prices; maybe offer lunch specials.
