If you are looking for a dive with some southern flare, this is it. My wife and I(from the ‘city.”) ended up taking two pounds of pulled of beef and chicken home to go… After three days, i have a craving for a bbq pulled beef sandwich. There is even an old school Ms. Pacman arcade game at the entrance. Love the sauces.

I wouldn’t say it was the best bbq. But the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The sauces were just okay. I definitely can appreciate the variety of food selection. Would go back, not really for tbe bbq but for the sweet potatoe fries, jalepeno nachos… the variety alone is like no other restaurant in. Dickson, Tn

For some reason I tend to crave BBQ on Sundays… which is the very day that BBQ places like to close. Since I was out in Fairview visiting the family I asked if a BBQ place was closeby that might be open. Bart’s fit the bill so off to Dickson we went. Bart’s is just a non-descript BBQ place in a strip mall of sorts(but a very small 3 business strip mall at that). The place looks almost like an old school BBQ joint/diner with red checked tablecloths, old timey signs on the wall, unfinished rough wood walls, BBQ sauce and other condiments on the table, and a washtub for a sink in the bathroom. You can order at the counter for takeout or you can sit down and have someone wait on you. We did the latter and the girl from behind the counter was also our waitress. She was friendly and fast so no problems there. I appreciated the two TVs that were turned on the NASCAR race — what else would you expect at a BBQ place? And I really like the crane game where you try and win stuffed animals — that was right beside the door and tempted me out of $ 1. I got the large pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries as my side and some unsweet tea to drink. I didn’t see beer as an option so I think you’ll have to stick to non-alcoholic beverages at this place. The pulled pork was not my favorite pink and smoky pork, but it was good nontheless. I drowned it in hot sauce and I have to say — that hot sauce was the right kind of spicy. Left my mouth tingly, but I could still taste stuff. Under no circumstances should you put the SWEETBBQ sauce on your sandwich unless you like pulled pork with syrup. Literally, it tasted like maple syrup. It did, however, taste awesome with the sweet potato fries so just eat it with that. I got my sandwich on a bun, but you have the option to also have it on two pieces of cornbread. Other sides available include all the faves like slaw, regular fries, baked beans, fried okra, etc. They also serve up catfish, burgers, and some appetizers like fried pickles! Uh, YUM! I thought this place was pretty decent and would definitely go back again to get my Sunday BBQ fix when I am out in the ‘view hanging with the parents. However, I will continue on with my hunt for the absolute best BBQ ever.
