House Of Brews

I really like this place but I wish they had a little more on the menu. Also, the wings are amazing, but they don’t offer HOT WINGS which is a little disappointing. Believe me when I say it though, the wings they do offer are delicious. The craft beer is awesome as well.

Best pub in town. Great atmosphere and service with good selection of brews. No pretentiousness about this place – decent bar food and drink.

Main Street in Dickson has a great food and beer joint in House of Brews. Today’s taps had Black Abbey, Tennessee Brew Works, Yazoo, Fat Bottom, Jackalope and more. Plenty of bottled selections. Burgers, subs, daily soup all good. Pizza, too. Lots of bar snack apps as well.
Super attentive service and a nice, casual space filled with happy relaxed folks watching Sunday football. Will return for sure.

I have been here a couple of times now, good experience both times. The selection of Beers here are good, the food is good also. The service was excellent, great atmosphere will be coming back no doubt. You don’t have places like this in Dickson, people should stop by and check it out.

My sister and I stopped in, hoping for a late lunch. The only table open was littered with the detritus of the previous customers. A waitress came over and bused the table while we sat there, left us menus. Returned shortly thereafter and asked if we wanted something to drink. I was studying the list of available beers, but my sister ordered a Coke. When she returned with the drink, I asked for some info on one of the beers that caught my eye. Was informed they no longer carried that brand. Oooo-​kay. Well, what about this one? Was informed that was her «go-​to» beer, but no info about the beer itself and required further query to find out what style of beer it was. Hmm. Well, what about this one? What kind is it? Was given the name of the brewery, but no particulars about the style. Well, is it a stout, an IPA, what? Finally settled on one and when she brought it, was asked if we were ready to order. No, we’re going to need a minute to look at the menu. Finally settled on our choices and laid the menus on the table, which should have been a pretty clear indicator we were ready to order. Instead, she was chatting with other staffers, changing channels on the TV (all the staffers seemed more interested in the college football game than the customers), bringing food to the party at the table next to us. Their entrees, anyway. They were told there would be a wait for the appetizer. WTF? My sister had drunk over half her Coke and I had drunk a third of my beer by the time the waitress returned. I told her we were just going to finish our drinks, so please bring the bill. So, I have no idea how the food might be. The service leaves much to be desired.

I really love this place and its atmosphere.
They have a great beer selection. (unfortunately the sometimes run out of popular tap beers)
Most food is really really good.
Daily specials too. My favs are Tues ½ price appetizers and Shrimp Boil on Thurs. Very good but you might want to order it with seasoning on the side. It’s spicy without the extra seasoning.

I had a cheeseburger and onion rings and it was one of the best I’ve had. My husband had the nacho with chicken and he said it was very good too. We’ll be back with our friends.

Good selection of beer, the chicken salad sandwich was incredible and despite it being a bar the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The kitchen accidentally gave me the wrong order, but it was quickly fixed. I recommend this place.

Love everything about this place. Their burgers and twisted french fries (real potatoes) are really good. The chicken salad hoagie is awesome. Lots of TVs and good sports channels are always on. Drinks are less expensive than Apple Bees or Logan’s. Music is GREAT! nice 90’s alternative like sublime. Serves is good.

It’s great to have this jewel in downtown. They have a good selection of draft beers and wider selection of bottled.
The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive.
I’ve tried several of their food items. My favorite so far is the hot ham and cheese. Very tasty. The burgers are great as well. Fries are excellent.
Don’t miss out on this place. You won’t be disappointed!

So I told my parents that for their 40^th anniversary my wife and I would like to take them wherever they’d like to go with the only budget constraint being sub-​Catbird-​Seat, and they wanted to try this place as it’s fairly new and neither of them have been yet. My father is a sucker for trying new places when they have a good beer list.
I like the location. For the last 12 years or so, Dickson has been putting a good amount of effort into revitalizing the «old downtown», and places like this opening up are a good sign. It used to be a depressing looking area but now it’s starting to get that quaint old southern town feeling. For that alone, I’m happy to go a bit out of my way to support a place like this (assuming the food & drink are good, of course).
So House Of Brews seems to basically be a nice beer bar that also happens to sell food and pour some select liquors. They have a fairly good number of tap & bottle selections, and the staff seem to be relatively knowledgeable about them. What I really liked was that they were happy to give tasting samples a tap offering for you to try before ordering a full pint.
The menu is pretty standard bar fare; burgers, a few sandwiches, a half-​pound hotdog, etc. and they also have some interesting appetizers, a couple of which we ordered. The beer cheese chicken nachos are pretty much what they sound like, and I thought they were quite good. The pork shank appetizer was rather unique and definitely had some novelty to it. Did you ever watch the Flintstones when you were little and want to try that meal they often ate that was just a hunk of meat with a bone sticking out? Then order the pork shanks!
The fries this place offers are a cross between steak fries and curly fries, which I liked if for no other reason than the fact that I haven’t been served a new shape of fried potato in some time.
All in all the food was pretty good, and I can’t think of anywhere else in Dickson that actually has a decent beer selection, so I hope this place does well.

Very Good food. I’ve only been here twice but the burgers are fresh. French fries are thick spirals really nice. I heard the pizza is good and I had a bite of the home wrecker hot dog and its huge. They have a full bar with a lot of on tap craft beers as well as glass bottles. Place is kinda small but not times I’ve been for lunch it’s good. Don’t know what the night brings. Food is prepared upstairs and sent down on an elevator. They have coke products. Seems they have weekly maybe daily mixed drink specials. Very nice looking clean place. Parking is street parking but again lunch time didn’t seem to have any problems finding a spot to park. My wife asked while we there today if this can be our new spot and I said it can!
