The food here really isn’t anything special. Drive down the street into Somerset and go to Cindy’s on 138. You’ll never go anywhere else.

Food is ok but service is really SLOW. They need to pay more attention to their customers too. Eggs don’t have much flavor at all either. Not worth $ 8 for a. Omelette. Portuguese omelet yes should be flavorful not bland. Sorry but no return visit for me.

The food was good, but it was absolutely the worst service that I have ever received in my life. We got there 15 minutes before they closed, but had no idea. Someone should have told us they were closing. Instead we were greeted by the nastiest waitress with a scowl and the silent treatment. She was short, abrasive, unfriendly, displayed nothing but a frown, threw things on the table, and never once uttered a thank you or a pleasantly. When we overheard a waitress telling some people who came in after us that they closed at 1, I apologized to the waitress that brought us our food. She too didn’t even acknowledge us. The waitresses were a pathetic excuse for«servers.» They wouldn’t know customer service if it was given to them on a platter. We left truly knowing that Alice’s doesn’t care one bit about its customers. We will never be going back there again.

Alice’s Last Stop is my new favorite breakfast joint! They have homemade bread, bagels, biscuits, and muffins. They make almost everything from scratch, including corned beef and chourico hashes, and even chili for omelets. The prices are awesome too, and this is the only restaurant I have ever seen that actually takes money off of your bill if you decide not to get homefries or toast. They also have awesome lunch and dinner food. The fresh fish and chips is my personal favorite. I’m getting hungry writing this review!

Steak & spinach omelette had absolutely no taste to it. Steak was chewy and bland. They forgot my home fries and the rye toast was soggy and drenched in butter. Definitely not worth an hour wait

I’m on the fence for recommendation. I definitely did not like the homefries: brown potatoes, dry & lousy seasoning. However, they have other potato options. The Irish eggs bene was actually pretty good, eggs cooked just right and homestyle hash. They have thick Texas french toast, even though it’s still a standard size piece of bread. I guess I’d be OK with returning, maybe try the shredded potato. So, I’ll barely give it a «Yay.»

It’s hard to ask for more from a breakfast place. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the special combos. The food is fantastic for breakfast fare with some of the best home made muffins you’ll find. For awhile I found myself stopping in to just get a muffin. Heck, the muffins are so good a friend of mine from out of town fell in love with them and went wild when I brought one down to Philly on a visit. The mood is very crass, the place prides itself on being low brow and that’s what you want from a diner, right? Service is reasonably quick and I never have to wait too long for food. I just wish they were open a bit later! If they were open 24 hours I would be in turkey bacon heaven.

Every breakfast has been cooked to my perfection. The menu has so many ways to get food prepared to suit every taste. Try the home made corn beef hash. Try the home made breads. Al’s pancake is the best. Pancakes come in 3 different sizes. You will always get as much coffee refills as you want.

Our family’s go-to place for breakfast or lunch in town. They have a ton of options — eggs, omelette, waffles, French toasts, lots of specials, etc… Lunch is the same way. Lots of options. Everything is made to order and very good. We’ve been there many times on a Friday night for dinner. Again, food is good and well priced. There are waits to eat during their busy times, but it’s worth it. If it wasn’t busy, they wouldn’t be open, right? Support small, local businesses like this one!

Went here for the first time on a Sunday. The place from the outside looked like nothing special, and it wasn’t. We entered the restaurant and it was packed, the girl behind the counter looked like we bothered her by coming here. She said there was nothing empty yet. So, we decided to wait. As we waited, I watched Miss Pleasant. I think it would have hurt her to smile. Thank God the waitress was pleasant! The breakfast was ok. Nothing to brag about. I think this place hasn’t been touched since the first day they opened. They seriously need to clean and remodel. Until then, I won’t be returning.

I agree with the other poster, this is what breakfast should be cozy home town place homemade cornbeef hash and homemade white bread. Hard to get any better than this.

It’s your typical breakfast place. Maybe I’m biased because I’ve been exposed to the magical wonder that is Dave’s Diner, but Alice’s really doesn’t impress me too much. If you’re going during the weekend– expect a wait. There’s not much to complain about as far as prices go, I paid $ 20 for the girlfriend and I. We both got two eggs, toast, home fries and a meat. She got a muffin on the side as well as chocolate milk, and I got a bagel with cream cheese. So, for $ 20, that’s a pretty decent amount of food. The home fries are the one thing that I prefer here over Dave’s. They’re perfectly seasoned, and perfectly crispy. As far as everything else goes, it’s pretty unremarkable. Don’t come here expecting amazing service, because you will be severely disappointed.

Clean, fast service, decent food at a good price. Love the corned beef hash, breakfast sandwiches. Time it right. This place is popular and you might end up waiting.

Place was pretty good, they have a ton of breakfast options to choose from to go with the basics but very inappropriate and rude waitressing ruined the dining experience at this place. I would go here again without hesitation if I knew that this waitress wouldn’t be there again!

Today will be my last stop here. Welcome to the boonies where you wait for service, the waitresses scream across the restaurant at each other or the customers, and heaven forbid they screw up your order — too bad, just deal with it because no one cares and nothing will be replaced or reimbursed. If you want good breakfast come here. You also have to be prepared to wait, eat the chef’s mistakes and listen to the waitress complain about her job.

This is a great place to go to if you are craving a hearty breakfast. The portions are large and delicious. They have homemade toast which is really good. I would recommend the Irish Eggs Benedict which is like a traditional eggs benedict except instead of ham it uses hash. In addition, their homefries are well seasoned. It is the quintessential breakfast joint and the crowd shows it. Their prices are also very reasonable. With this in mind, if you go on the weekend expect a wait. However, they offer beverages while you are waiting and the food is definitely worth the wait.

I have visited Alice’s a few times with my wife and daughter, and we have always enjoyed their breakfast offerings. The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly. My only real complaint is that the wait can sometimes be somewhat long, and the restaurant doesn’t really have anywhere to wait inside. You are able to wait outside, and remain out of the rain, but when there are a lot of people waiting it can be a bit dicey maintaining the order of next entry when a table opens up.
