Good food at reasonable prices, and very efficient service. Servers don’t seem very talkative, but they and the kitchen staff hustle to get the food served. We like the place and drop in when we can, lunch or dinner. Last night we drove over from Franklin, NC(about 16 miles) for dinner. I had their meatloaf and my wife had the fried Tilapia. Meatloaf is good, but the tilapia is not one of their better dishes — just average. Have also enjoyed their sandwiches(their ham & turkey club is scrumptious!) and burgers. They have a decent selection of beer & wine, as well as sodas, ice tea, and coffee.

Father’s Day buffet at the Valley Café was great! My husband and dad had the prime rib which they really enjoyed. The fried chicken and veggies were yummy, especially the mashed potatoes and gravy. I thought the cornbread was also good. But all that was to get to the desserts — oh my! The bread pudding was delicious and the homemade carrot cake was the best I’ve ever had! So glad my parents live in Clayton so we can come back!

Cake was horrible. Very dry and definitely mass produced. My son’s burger was so dry that it was inedible. The fried mac and cheese had no flavor at all, it just tasted like plain noodles. In short bad unimaginative food. Try the restaurants in clayton… much better and worth the drive… Fromage, the Universal Joint, or Grapes and Beans.

Me and my partner had our first experience here about a year ago. Our first experience was amazing! Great service and fast, friendly servers and an amazing meal! We have revisited this year about 2 times in the past couple months. And then again this morning. But ever since then we have been hoping to get what we got the first time. Undercooked steak, cold marinara, burned rice, rock hard rolls, burnt bread, and above all that UNFRIENDLY staff. We will not be back.

Good prices and quick service. However, there were ants crawling all over our table.,

Great home town restaurant. Wonderful chicken livers, my favorite. They do a bang up job at catering too.

Despite a full house, we were able to get our food quickly and as ordered. Great prices, good portions. Great biscuits! Wait staff very hard workers!
